I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT ECRATER... IF IT'S COMPLETELY FREE HOW DO THEY MAKE THEIR MONEY???

WHAT IS ECRATER ALL ABOUT???

Looks like they've got Adsense in the auctions, so if they have a lot of users and lookers, they could make a nice amount there. Im just guessing.

It's completely free, for now, unless you accept Paypal (PP fees apply just like on eBay). Google checkout is free for ecrater sellers through the end of this year, then I'm assuming fees for that will begin.

It looks interesting, and over time, could become a healthy competitor for eBay, but it has a lot of growing to do. Because its free, it doesnt seem to have a lot of filters in place, or protection for buyers/sellers. There's a lot of "porn" that just randomly pops up in completely innocent searches! Is anybody at the wheel over there?

Has anyone actually done any amount of sales on ecrater? I've had my account for quite a while and get very little business there.

I closed my ecrater store today. It had spurts here and there where I'd sell 2-3 items per week, but the lack of advertising is killing it imo. I fare much better at Amazon and eBay, fees and all.

From what I have figured out,eCRATER makes their money by offering sellers to advertise with them. Sellers are able to feature an item or two inthe appropriatecategory. I've only had my store for about a month andonly two sales.I'm off to a slow start and hoping it will get better.
