View Full Version : Product and COTM update

Just got this email :

As many of you are aware, there are two kinds of waxes being used to make our products....there is what is called "jar wax" and another formula called "votive wax". Each performs in accordance to its desired container and neither can be interchanged in a formula.

The manufacturer has had a massive breakdown which puts our votive blend in short supply for 4-8 week period and in order to conserve on votive wax we feel the best alternative is to go with 2 candle cotm program for one or two months (based on our supplier's ability to get back in production)

Starting October COTM (Eucalyptus) we will implement a candle of the month which will include 2 16 oz jars and a bar of Soysational Bella Bar rather than the standard formula of 1 16 oz jar, 12 votives and 1 Soysational Bella Bar.

We are hoping to rectify this situation quickly...and we will keep the field informed as we hear more updates.

Hopefully they will have the situation cleared up when the Key Lime Pie comes out!

I like having the votives and the jar but I can understand that some people want 2 jars. Maybe they will finally keep this as an option after they get everything straightened out.

I understand why they aren't doing the votives but I must admit I am very disappointed. I love getting the votives because I also use them in my simmer pot as well as making COTM scent samples. Also the jar candles are less expensive than the box of votives we get so to get an extra jar candle and that's it is aloss of $2.50, not to mention any profit that could be made from them. Am I the only one who is feels like this isn'treally agreat of a trade? I did e-mail Bob suggesting that maybe they could include a bag of melts or a car freshener to make up the difference, so we'll see if he thinks that something they could do. I know I'd sure appreciate it.

Like Jenn, I love Eucalyptus and will enjoy the jars.
I was thinking that it would be nice to have the Eucalyptus Jar and a Christmas scent jar.

I love the idea of 2 jars! I have way too many votives now, so this is a refreshing change.http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gif

As for adding a bag of melts to make up the $2.50 difference, I think that's a great idea. However I'm not gonnaworry too muchabout it...it's all good!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

I would love to see the 2 jarsas an option in the future!

ok I'm lost~ 2.50 difference? a jar sells for 18.95 and a dozen votives for 36.00 so thats a lot more than 2.50...?maybe I;m having a very blonde moment?

The Melt idea is wonderful, that way we can still make scent samples to hand out to prospects. This is my first year to be a distributor. Did they have the same problem last year? Hopefully this is the first and last time we will have this problem, I need the votives for scent samples and handing out to prospects. So if they could put a bag of melt, that will be awesome!smileys/smiley20.gif</font>

This is not something that has happened before- it's not that Scent-Sations is low on product, the manufacturer of the components used in the votive formula is experiencing some major "breakdown" so it is a supply deficit on materials- something the company has no control over. Since the manufacturer of the ingredients for the votive wax plans to be back on track on 4-8 weeks, the company is opting for the 2-jar COTM as a temporary measure to ensure there will be enough votive formula on hand for customer orders.

I love the 2 jar concept- more jars means more gifties for my family and friends (and ME!) LOL!

I was talking about our cost not the retail value. A jar sells for $9.50 and the box of votives is $12 so that's a difference of $2.50.

I like the concept of two different scents like Lori said. The reg. COTM and then a Christmas scent would be nice and then something to make up the difference.

OR even better....

1 jar, 1 apple pie, and 1 bella bar

Then the next month

1 jar, 1 SnowberryPine, and a bella bar.

Anyway those werejust some things I was thinking about that would be very helpful.

I wonder if this is going to affect the first COTM for new signups which is usually SO&amp;CP? I have a new partner starting next week, and she's expecting the votives to use for her first samples. I guess I'd better write the company and ask.

I like that idea of an Apple Pie and jar candle, too smileys/smiley32.gif
