how does it work being a wholesaler? do you sign up to get the discount and then sell to friends, family, strangers, etc for the retail price and get the profit from it?

You do whatever you want with you account. You get the discount for yourself on anything you order and you choose if you want to share that discount w/ others, or charge retail and make a little $$ on the side!!

Your welcome! There is a large number of wholesale buyers who signed up just for the personal discount, but then later on saw the big picture and income potential with Arbonne. The longer you use the products, the more you love them and want to share w/ others! Thats what is so great about the $29 account. You are already set up to make a business out of it if you want, or just buy personal product and not feel like you have to buy alot to make your "investment" worthwhile.

Someone in my upline suggested referencing the $29.00 fee similar to a BJ's/Sam Club membership. In order to get the discount at these stores, you have to purchase a membership that's renewable on an annual basis.

So, with that concept in mind, I relate that to my potential customers. You now have a membership to Arbonne and can shop online and receive 35% off and also sell retail to any of your famiy and friends and receivethe difference as a little extra income.

I tell folks that they now own a mall, why shouldn't they (& their friends/family) shop there?

I just signed up as a wholesaler.

If you are a wholesaler, and want to give the discount to a few friends, will you get a 1099 from the company during tax season? How does Arbonne know what is a wholesale purchase and what is being bought for a customer? (in order to figure out if you are indeed making income or just buying for yourself?)

Arbonne doesn'tmind if you are selling or buying @wholesale. They will send you a 1099 if you make overrides of $600 or more.

Overrides meaning the additional commissions we get from Arbonne-- as a wholesale buyer (consultant level) you will not make those commissions unless you sign people up under you and get a team going. As for the 35%- the 'right now money'- that you would get should you choose to Retail the products, you do have tokeep record of those for taxes, HOWEVER if you do not sell the products at Retail, then you don't have an income to report.
