Disney World Resort? Have you ever been to one of the resort’s baby care
centers to change and feed your little one? Or maybe you and your family have
visited so often that others have said you could write a book filled with travel
tips? If so, Disney wants to hear from you.
As part of “The Year of a Million
Dreams,” Disney announced today the launch of a nationwide search for moms who
have mastered the art of planning a Walt Disney World vacation. Twelve
finalists will be selected to serve on the first-ever online Walt Disney World
Moms Panel. Those 12 parents who have a passion for the Walt Disney World
vacation experience will have the opportunity to share their vast knowledge of
the resort and personal secrets of success with other families who are
considering this magical vacation experience. In exchange, the 12 panelists
will receive a 6-day/5-night vacation to the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:State w:st="on">Florida</st1:State></st1:place> resort for themselves and three other
guests. </span></font>
“Through our consumer
research we know that there are aspects of a Walt Disney World vacation that can
be challenging to the primary vacation planner, most often that means mom,”
</span></font>said Meg Crofton, president of Walt Disney World Resort. “</span>We could not think of a
better way to provide vacation planning advice than to create an online forum.
This will assist guests who are looking for real and reliable vacation
recommendations that fit their family’s travel needs.”</font>
The Walt Disney World Moms Panel will
be found online at www.disneyworldmoms.com (http://www.disneyworldmoms.com/) and feature
content provided by the panel. It will also offer guests the opportunity to
pose specific questions and have them answered by the panelists. The site,
which goes live in January 2008, will host valuable park insights and vacation
planning tools for those parents planning a Walt Disney World vacation.

This is such a great thing for the Walt Disney Company as they really try all aspects to exceed Guests expectations! Meg Crofton is a great leader! This is such a fantastic way to help Guest plan a vacation at this huge magical place! As I personally worked with the Walt Disney Company for 18 years before relocating to San Francisco in 2004.

If you're thinking about entering this, don't wait! They originally were going to stop taking apps on Oct. 5, OR when they reached 5,000, but they're extended it to 10,000 due to the response. So I'm guessing they'll reach 10,000 before Oct. 5.

I don't know any details, but I've heard that they might consider a similar panel for Disneyland. I think they were overwhelmed and surprised by the response ... so we'll see. I'll post here if/when I hear of anything.

Not really, as it turns out. The "mom" is in quotations on the moms' panel and here's what they say on their website:

"About the "Mom" Panelists

Disney realizes that the person who serves the "Mom" role differs from family to family. These "Moms" have been selected to be panelists because they have demonstrated an excellent knowledge of Walt Disney World® Resort.

In September 2007, as part of “The Year of a Million Dreams,” Disney announced the launch of a nationwide search for "moms" who had mastered the art of planning a Walt Disney World vacation.Twelve finalists were selected to serve on the first-ever Walt Disney World Moms Panel (http://disneyworldforum.disney.go.com/), an online forum of vacation advisors made up of everyday people who answer questions, offer advice and address specific concerns of families in the process of planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort.


Since they were selected, the twelve parents on the Walt Disney World Moms Panel (http://disneyworldforum.disney.go.com/) have had the opportunity to share their vast knowledge of the resort and personal secrets of success with other families. Absolutely love this post. Wishing I was a little nearer. Being in Mexico City doesn´t really help. Wonder if they will ever build a Disney World over here. After all, there is one near Paris as well :)

I don't know how I feel about Walt Disney..

I don't think its still open now. They should open it back up so that some of us that didn't get to participate the first time can get in there this time. We love Disney and this would be a great opportunity.

We go to Disney twice a year, courtesy of my parents though. We could never afford it on our own! I know a lot about Disney, but I'm sure there are others out there a lot more qualified and knowledgable than me. Good luck to anyone who applies!

I've been to WDW when I was a lil' gal as my relative works there and I got to get in free any day any time.. but then we moved to CA and have gone to Walt Disney but I haven't visited in a few yrs and now I have fear fl flying too LOL
