You ladies are so helpful with information. I used to be very active on this board about 3 or 4 months ago. I have been diagnosed with HG. It is a pregnancy condition that makes me very sick. I am on medication pumped into my body daily and iv's at home daily. Just wanted you to all know why I have been missing.
My problem? I sell Pampered Chef. I must sell $200.00 every 2 months. I have been so sick I have not had any parties in the last two months. I just realised today that I have one week in which to keep myself active. Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this? Should I send out a mass email and tell people that if they order through Sunday I will give them a percentage discount? How else would you reccomend I keep myself active. Icould apply for a leave but if I do it now I cannot do it when the baby comes. Any ideas would be greatly apprecitated.

Is it possible you could sell things at their wholesale price to friends/family/customers? Since you are just looking to keep yourself active, many people might make holiday purchases at 25% off (or whatever PC's wholesale price is).
Alternatively, you could call PC and see if they can give you two leaves for extenuating circumstances. I mean, if you worked outside of the home and this happened, your company would have no choice but to give you leave during bedrest and then again after the baby.
Good luck!

Contact the corporate office and tell them of your illness.
Perhaps they will give you a waiver on your $200 volume until you are
feeling good enough to work and then you will still be eligilble to
apply for a leave of absence when you baby comes. Companies can
get themselves into big trouble if they terminate someone who is ill.
You obviously would have the medical documentation to prove your
illness. Call them today! Stress is not good for someone who is
pregnant, especially with your added illness.

I guess the only thing I'd caution here is that we are not employed. Yes, companies get in big trouble for letting employees go, but we are self-contracted. So while the company is in no legal situation to keep them from letting you go, I can't imagine that a single DS company I know would do so.
I was on bedrest while working another DS company. I did work from my recliner. I let everyone know the situation and that i still needed to collect my minimum sales. I took outside orders and filled in the rest with personal purchases. Maybe you could even get a bit of your own Christmas shopping done?
I'm going to PM you as well.
Take care!

I was referring to a company who had a lawsuit brought against
them for terminating somone and they lost their entire downline because
they were so sick and physically unable to perform their work. It made
no difference that she was not employed by the company and was an
independent contracter. She won her lawsuit.

Wow Cheryl, that's great for her. Funny that most DS companies go so far out of their way to make us think they aren't accountable to most employment laws. I'm surprised she won her suit, but very happy for her!

I would send out the mass email and call it a Shopping
Extravaganza..everyone who places an order by XYZ date will get 20% off
their order. Everyone who orders $50 or more (you'd only need 4
of those orders!) will get put into a drawing to win a free Crinkle
Cutter or something.
Good luck..you CAN do it!
But yes, contact the home office, they oughta cut you some slack.

Yes, this was a few years back and it had to do with taking away a car
and downline. But you know how lawyers are, if there is a way, they
will find it!

Hi hon! I'm with PC as well. Just call HO and tell
them your situation. You can be put on a leave for 3
months. You can do it no more than once per year I
believe.
Go back to your Recipe for Success handbook and
look under policies and procedures.
Have you talked to your director to figure something
out as well?
Good luck and take it easy!

I like the idea of passing on your discount - that may prompt a sale that you might not have had otherwise. Quite alot of people are willing to order from someone if they feel they are getting a better deal than they normally get. smileys/smiley1.gif
Post something on wahm.com in the discount, specials folders - also, I run a group called Consultant_Finder at Yahoo Groups. You're welcome to join there and advertise that you need some sales. The ladies there are great! http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/Consultant_Finder (http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/Consultant_Finder)
