How long does it take for the self tanner to work? I put it onmy legs 20 minutes ago and there is no difference. Last time i used it it was so blotchy all over my legs and it only came out once i was in the sun. This time i made sureto exfoliate really well. But ive been told that you dont need the sun to make it work.

help!

The bottle reads, that it takes 2-3 hours before you see any result.

Michele, it is the Made in the Shade self-tanner with SPF 15. Are you using the Liquid Sunshine? That is a tan enhancer, but different from the self-tanner. smileys/smiley1.gif

I just got mine today, so I'll have to try it out. I see that the box gives a time frame of 2-3 hours, but it doesn't say anything like that on the bottle.

Bummer that it doesn't work on you! smileys/smiley19.gif

I usually tell my customers about other people's experiences if I haven't used the product myself. I don't lie to my customers. I do let them know that everyone is different though so some people may get better results with a product than others. But no matter what happens, if they product doesn't work for you, Arbonne does have a satisfaction guarantee. If you aren't satisfied for ANY reason, just let me know within 30 days, and I'll be glad to exchange it for something you do like, or, if necessary, get you a refund.

Arbonne gives 45 days, but I tell customers to let me know within 30 so that they can get it to me in plenty of time. Most people procrastinate and will wait as long as they can. 45 days sounds like a long time, they may accidently wait too long and it's just easier the earlier I know of the problem. Happy to say, I've only had to make one exchange and that was because one of my customers decided they wanted Ginger Citrus Body Butter instead of the Guava Berry they ordered. Edited by: mahoes

I spray it directly into my hands to make a "pool" of tanner, then apply it like a lotion. It goes on thicker and I can control it better that way. I'm very pleased with the results.

Yes I also put it on my hands and rub it on like lotion. It took a couple of hours for it to really show up. Just make sure you wash your hand RIGHT AWAY so that your palms don't turn orange!! Or use gloves.

I spray it right on & then rub it in really good. Works great. I just have to make sure to spray it on thick. Then wash my hands if I didn'tuse gloves. Exfoliating is the most imortant thing. I love it but must admit that I am not lovin the after smell. Nothing that can be done about that since all self tanners make your skin smell like that once it's worked. But Phewie! I wish it didn't have to happen. smileys/smiley11.gif smileys/smiley36.gif

I purchased my bottle a month ago, and I am very happy with it! The best part of this is that it also has a SPF15...pretty cool!

Maybe I am weird, but I like the smell before and aftersmileys/smiley36.gif

Exfoliating is definately the key to a better tan!

I have never noticed any off-odors to it after the tanning process
either. Maybe it reacts with your body chemistry in a strange
way, or maybe you just have a really sensitive nose!

I have always had good luck with the tanner. And I actually like the smell. To me it smells like sunscreen and the smell is always gone after a shower.

I had good results with the color, but it dries my legs out and makes
them itch. Even after exfoliating and using sea salt scrub, my
legs are dry and itchy. Must be something that is reacting with my
skin/chemistry. I can't use it anymore. Too bad because the
color was nice.

You can put the body lotion on after the tanner dries to help with that. I use the Re9 lotion. It took a couple days using the tanner for my legs to get darker, but now I'm very happy with the natural look and using the lotion after keeps them smooth.
