What do you say to people who are not willing to give their social security number to become a wholesale buyer? I have had many people not willing to sign up because of that one issue. They are all gung ho to get the discount and freebies and start filling out the form and then the red flag goes up. some have ended up not purchasing at all because I don't know, they think I am scamming them or something? Does anyone else have that problem? What do you say? Do you offer to give them a partial discount anyway?

Hello, I know that I personally have had 2 people who felt this way
also. I told them that the reason Arbonne needs your soc sec# is
in the event they decide to do Arbonne as a business, and they start to
earn commission checks from Arbonne, if they make over $600 (I think,
or something like that), Arbonne has to report it to the IRS as
earnings. That is what I was told anyway. That they would
issue you an earning statement at the end of the year so you can pay
Uncle Sam his cut. Like how your employer does. Like I
said, this is what I was told, and the two people understood. I
mean, they agreed and felt silly for asking afterword. Good luck
in getting those people signed up!smileys/smiley1.gif

Thanks, the first time I was caught off guard and just said "I understand" and gave her the discount anyway, as I was in qualification for district and she was ordering close to $200 in product. But after that I researched it and the next time I said, it is an IRS requirement, because anyone has earning potential. This woman is wife of a billionaire in town who owns several huge corporations, as well as our baseball franchise, and she did not want to give her personal information out. But she still wanted the discount, LOL!! Go figure. I gave it to her and she faithfully buys $200-$300 worth every couple months, at the wholesale price. But she has to go through me and it is a pain.

another person is an out of town friend who buys as a client on the website about$50-$100 every few months, I keep telling her to sign up and she can do it herself and save the money. She doesn't want to because of the ss# deal

the last person was a friend and she seemed really upset that I sprung that on her at the last minute. She says "I never give out my Soc. Why on earth do they need it" and I said "For tax purposes" and she said, but I am not interested in teh business why do they need it?" so I said what you did basically, "everyone has potential to earn income, and Arbonne has to comply with the IRS" well, she didn't like that, she said she felt like it was a trick to get her into doing the business after she had made it clear she isn't interested (she actually did a 180 last month, seeming interested then changing her mind) Like it was something I was doing on my own to scam her. If it only happened once, I would be like, no big deal, but that is four times in recent memory. I still don't know what to do with this friend, should I just give her the stupid discount?

I have only had one person not wanting to give me her SSN, I invited her to come to my house and she sat with me at the computer while I signed her up, she entered her ownSSN on the application.

Well, I must know a lot of paranoid people! I told my friend, "well, 50,000 people signed up last month, so apparantly they don't have a problem with it." Maybe that was snotty, but I get irritated by irrational fears. What exactly do they think will happen? Someone will farm the Arbonne SECURE site and get their info out of 50,000 sign ups and steal their identity? There are easier ways to steal identities, and their SSN is probably already out there if someone looks hard enough. I mean I can't even get waited on at my doctor without giving my SSN.

I've told w/b that Arbonne does not distinguish between a wholesale buyer and consultant, and since consultants are often issued checks, a ss# has to be provided. So far, no one has objected. If theyever do, then I will probably offer the discount anyway, but none of the other perks ($100 for $20, rsvp, host gifts, etc). I am still trying to build volume, so this will work for me now.
