Let me preface this post by saying that my family and I are planning for a move to Orlando in October, so I have been getting prepared for that. The month of August was not a good one for me....I didn't hold any spas, but have had some improptu consultations and re-orders. The following event has jolted me and really opened my eyes to what even the smallest effort on my part can do. Not that I didn't know this, just sometimes we need a "refresher", ya know? Here goes:

This isn't how I "normally" recruit, but I just wanted to share my good news for the day in regards to recruiting! I have a girl at my bank that I talked to a while back. She was SUPER sweet and very much a "take-charge" kind of person. Someone I always thought would make a great consultant, but one that I "pre-judged" and thought would be "unapproachable." Well, one day my husband and I had some things we had to take care of at the bank and she was the one helping us. She turned out to be such a great person...said she is always reading motivational books, etc. Just the kind of person you want to be around. We found out through the conversation that she and her husband were military, like us, and were going to be moving to North Carolina, where we'd already been. To thank her for her great service and to give her a little "bon voyage" gift, I bought her a cute little tote, cute pair of flip flops, some other pedicure items, and gave her a mini Save Your Sole set (gotta get that product in there lol). Put it all together really cute and delivered it to her. I then went to Celebration and to Orlando for about a week. Things are just slowing down, so I called her today finally to see how she liked everything. She LOVED it! Asked me to bring a catalog by. Normally, I would have said "sure" and gotten it to her the next time it was convenient for me to go to the bank. NOT TODAY! I took her 4 catalogs, 4 little goody bags I made up, and 4 samples of the SOH.

She looked at the catalog and said, "Can I place an order?" $225 later she was done! Some of the things she was ordering were in the kit, so (taking a chance I wouldn't ordinarily take) I told her about the $99 special. She signed up on the spot..AND placed her qualifying order! I'd say that was time well spent lol....AMAZING! She is also all signed up for BeautiU and I think we're going to make a love connection between her and BC lol....Moral of the story? JUST ASK. Period. If you don't ask, you'll never know! Keep sharing and I'll see you all in NEW YORK!!

Thanks ladies! It wasn't HUGE news compared to some that I've seen on here lately, but I really needed something to get me focused again. Moving cross-country and my husband separating from the military has been a bit daunting, but I want him to be able to follow his dreams as well! I just need to get focused for September and fit business into every available nook and cranny, and remember that this business is MOBILE and can be done everywhere I go! Thanks for the kind wordsladies!

I agree....I use to be a teller and I don't think I have ever washed my hands so much.

Thank Shawn for that great story. I have my own teller that I have been working on and it just makes me want to get up and go by the bank even though I have nothing to do there today.http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif
