Yep, I hear that a LOT with the RE9 products. Shine is oil. She might either be using too much, or some of the products aren't right for her particular skin.

How do you handle "shine" with RE9 products?
I am to pick up my puppy this afternoon. What
do you suggest I say to her.

The re9 line works great with the Arbonne foundation. My shine went away when I switched from the Lancome maquicontrol (oil free). My sister uses the normal to oily day creme instead of the re9 day creme. I've heard to try using very little or no serum in the day, only at night. My sister also uses the bio matte oil free personalizer. If she is experiencing shine, she is probably also experiencing it with whatever she is using now, too. Most people feel the anti-aging benefits far outway the shine! Edited by: arbonnebev

One of things that I have expereinced is that most people use WAY TOO MUCH of the re9 products. It really is very concentrated so a little goes a very long way!!!!!

It is interesting because I had my wife call this lady (I forgot
to tell her) and tell her to use a little since it is so concen-
trated.
She told my wife she knew; she had already read the
handout. She was a little irritated that my wife called.

When leaving a puppy, you are not there to show just how much like you can at a class. I make sure to show them how much when I drop it off. I also suggest using 1/2 pump of the eye cream, and the serum only at night. This seems to help alot. I heard to give the example of the size of a chocolate chip. That seems about right, except for eye cream. If you notice right away that the person seems to have oily skin, you definetly want to make sure they don't use too much!

i definitely had the "dewy" look at first. my face did adjust though and my skin looks so much better! i used a lot less and also used the serum before the lift. ilove the bio-matt personalizer. i'm sure the bio-matt line would be great for me but i want the anti-aging benefits from the RE9 set plus since the Bio-matt line is being phased outi don't want to start using it and then have to switch when it's gone.

Bio-Matte is being phased out. I guess somethings come
and go.
I am looking for that somebody who is really looking for me
and will sit down and give me time to show and explain a
few things to him/her.
So far I have felt good when someone said yes, they would
take and try my product. Cold calling is for the birds, and
the bears, and the wolves, and the snow on top of the high
mountains. It is not for ME.
However, cold calling is what I do UNTIL I break in and find
my warm (hot potato) market. Cold calling is activity and it
will get some results.

Terry and Betty,
Ihave a few questions about your cold calls. What are you saying to the people you talk to? Do you have a script you use or do you just wing it? Who are you calling? Just people straight out of the phone book or refferals from other people you know?

I am not CALLING anybody on the PHONE. I do not
have a no-call list and do not have $10,000 to pay
in fines for calling someone on that list. (I have been
in sales too long.)
I am going into stores and talking to the managers
and people who work there.
When I start getting refferals and permission from some
people to call them, I will start using the phone. If you
have suggestions on how I can start using the phone
without facing a $10,000 fine, I am open to listen.
I have started contacting members of the church where
my wife and I attend through mail asking permission to
contact them. Just started and have gotten no response
yet. I will not talk to them at church. (I have been a
preacher too long.)

I do make phone calls. For instance I just got off the
phone with a young lady I met at a local cleaners. Her
aunt "used" to be in Arbonne. This lady has a baby and
is not married. She has no PC and not even a CD player
to listen to my cd.
I told her that if she will sign us, I will let her use some of
my material, products, and samples until she gets started.
I told her I just wanted/needed her contacts. She is to
get back to me. Right. I will call her one more time.
I am doing lots of activity, and it WILL pay off.

Just speaking for myself, I would never respond to a flyer asking for permission to call me. I mightintend too, but it puts the activity on me, when it's not important to me, it is to you. I'd just call someone you've met & who will know you. Ask them what they are using for skin care. Tell them what you are doing & ask them if you could drop off a demo for them to try for a few days so they could let you know how it compares to what they are currently using. Depending upon their response, take it from there. If they say no, ask it they know someone who might enjoy using the products for a few days. You might consider calling those who you sent the flyer to & asking if they received it.

We're talking about church people where I am talking to
the leaders about a working position with this church. I
will not/can not "push" this with them.
At this moment, my most important thing time wise out
side my JOB is my church responsibility. You man not
understand this, but church is not a place of business.
Just thinking out loud---thanks for listening.

Another reason besides that they are using too muchwhy some people get "shine" after switching to RE9 is that their face is finally getting the moisture it needs. If their products were drying them out or not hydrating them enough then it's going to have to adjust to our products doing what it's supposed to do. So people may have break outs & or oiliness at first until their skin adjusts & evens out. Also, the skin is finally breathing & getting the toxins out which is why people can have break outs in the beginning.
Something else, if a person is prone to oiliness then they may not be able to use all of the RE9 set every day. I use RE9 at night & Bio Matte in the morning b/c I am oily in the t-zone. I can't use the serum day & night b/c it's too much so I ise it every other night. And I def can't use the night creme b/c that is super hydrating. I will use it only every once in awhile & the rest of the time use Bio Matte night creme.
With some people you are just going to have to work with them to figure out their best regimine. We can mix & match all of our lines so, if they re willing, play around until they find what fits.

My group is designing holiday gift flyers & taking them to salesmen at car dealerships. Name the baskets (spa package, romance, ultimate skin care, etc) & tell them you'll either make a pretty basket or gift wrap for them & deliver back to the dealership. Sell at retail or near retail & be sure & cover the costs of your basket, etc. You can get that stuff cheap at dollar stores, garage sales, etc. Get small beanie baby bears, angels, etc & put in the basket. Someone in my group had gone to the office store & purchased beautiful gold gift certificates. Maybe a gift certificate, catalog & sea salt scrub would make a neat orginal gift for a wife or girlfriend. A lot of times guys never know what to buy!!! Go right after the 1st or 15th (paydays). Tell them you are ordering now to get holiday delivery, maybe even offer a small discount for early orders.

I'm not suggesting you do anything you don't want to do, but you said you'd contacted them by mail asking for permission to call - I didn't tell you to push it with them, nothing wrong with a friendly follow up call to see if they received the mailer & if they were interested in a three day trial. If you feel so uncomfortable with your church friends, try branching out. I really think you'll have a much better response with someone that has met you & has an interest in you.(vs a strictly cold call)Since you are new in town, make it a point to meet new people. We all enjoy people who are interested in the same things we are! One of the first questions people ask new friends is what do you do? Tell them Arbonne first, then tell them whatever else it is that you do (your JOB).

I know that you not suggesting anything negative. I
am in the process of branching out. I tell people that I
am an Arbonne distributor when they ask what I do. I
even tried mixing Arbonne with my JOB. I sell head stones
and memorials for graves. A couple of times I have said
to my customers, "By the way I have this MLM business...."
Do you realize how unprofessional that appears?
One of the great things about a forum is the meeting of
minds. I have gotten a couple of good ideas (for me) this"
day already.
I keep going and going and going. I am the Arbonne rabbit.
Something will click and open wide a great door for us. I
believe that with all my heart.
Until then and even after that, I will keep picking you all's
brains. Many things I am willing to try. Some I have tried.
Some are not for me.
In my mind right now I am in school for this business. I never
thought I would be in the skin care business. I am not only
enjoying/learning about the business; I am learning abut the
products. I could care less about many of the products until
recently.
I have a new perspective/point of view.
Thanks smileys/smiley32.gifEdited by: major26

I know what you with this. It is also brusque and there is no segueway. This business is about building relationships, trust, rapport. I have found that what works better for me is to NOT talk about Arbonne. Learn about the person you are interacting with. Make mental notes until they leave & write them down after they are gone. (I can be forgetful) By listening to them, you will better be able to "pitch" the biz to them at a later date by targeting how this biz can fit their needs.
Just to clarify, I do say "I am with Arbonne and I help others to build a lucrative home based biz and/or take better care of their skin & health depending on their needs"when asked what I do. I then ask a question about THEM. Sometimes they ask for more info, other times we talk about other things and I gather info for later.

Hey Terry -
I was thinking about what you said about church not being a place for business. I agree, it is a place of worship. However, at our church, we have a monthly business leaders luncheon, where we all come together, praise God & enjoy fellowship. Wouldn't you rather buy a car or home from someone in your bible study group than a stranger? I'd rather support someone who shares my beliefs than a stranger I know nothing about! So, no, on the other hand I don't agree that you can keep the two totally seperate. If you needed a Dr or Lawyer, wouldn't you prefer to go to a fellow church member? I think of our church as a community & in a community you help & support those who are members. You can let people know what you do without pushing it on them. But, you can't mention it once & expect them to always remember what you do. Since you feel so strongly about your church, I think it is a natural place for you to begin to cultivate relationships, not for the sole purpose of personal gain, but for your mutual benefit! As you get to know these people & their families, you'll know how they can benefit most, through product or a new business! Take a chance, reach out - you'll be glad you did!

That is an awesome message posted above and I think it is right on target. God will bless you and your new business I have no doubt. You have to remember that it is all in His hands anyway. Praise Him and thank Him for this wonderful opportunity that has been given to you and ask Him to put people in your path that will want to know about Arbonne either as a client or a business builder. Things will begin to happen. I've learned that by being very personable and not going right into the Arbonne has worked best for me. I still get no's but I do get alot of people interested in trying once I have given them the chance of getting to know me personally as well as myself getting to know them more. Try not to push too fast or you'll push them away. Try to be patient. Good things come to those who wait. And you'll know when the time is right to mention Arbonne.

I am going to stop my comments in this line of thoughts.
I am a minister of the gospel, and Arbonne takes second
place to what and why I am a Christian and what I do
and do not do at church. I have some significant and
personal theological reasons behind my decisions. While
I respect your thoughts. Perhaps you will respect mine.
I want my people at church to see more of me than a
person of business. It colors everything I do and how
and why I deal with people, period. While I am not at
all ashamed of Arbonne, it takes probably more than a
second place in my line of priorities.
I must admit, however, that this line of comments has
given me much to think about. Thanks to you all.
Terry
PS--Even approaching people at church in a back door
manner is a progression of what I would have done in
the past. I do have a positive and prideful respect for
our fine products.Edited by: major26
