Hi all, thoughtI would share this and maybe you can look into doing something like this with your childs class. It is a fun way to introduce yourself and your business to your child's classmate's parents.
My daughter's class is having a Career Day coming up, where I signed up at the beginning of the year to participate. Moms and dads come in and talk about what they do. They are welcome to bring visual aids or samples or such. So I will of course show up and talk about my fun candle biz that lets me stay home. I will probably make a votive rose for each child to take home with a tag attached with my info and a little about the candle. That is 20 ways (the number of kids) to advertise!! smileys/smiley17.gif
The kids really enjoy this too to see all the different things their friends moms and dads do!!
My kids are in a private school so i am not sure what route you would take to incorporate this within the public schools, but i would start by talking with the principal or even the teacher.
ok, just a thought!!! Everyone have a great day!!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

Hi Jennifer! Our fourth graders do the same thing in our school (also private) andmy husband and I are doing our "thing" in February and you can bet, I will have those candles a glowing!!!
I was thinking of having the kids wrap a votive in red tulle with valentine garland and giving them to their parents.
Let us know how your talk goes!smileys/smiley17.gif

Alison, wow that would be great!! Something the kids could do themselves!! I might do that too!! I like the Valentine theme too and they could attach a little card that you pre made up that says happy valentines day and they could sign their name!!
That is great to do even if not a career day type thing but just arrange with the teacher to offer the kids a craft!!
I did that last year with my daughter's 3rd grade class, we all made the votive roses for mother's day. They had fun!!!
GREAT IDEA!!!!! smileys/smiley32.gif
