Hey there! I just found this forum and am looking forward to all the help it will give me as I'm a new Independent Consultant for [a party plan company]. When I signed up, I said I was only going to do this "for fun" but I'm a lot more motivated than I thought I would be (maybe that's why). I'm having an Open House for my Business Launch on Nov. 5th which I'm really excited about. I'm nervous about my first party though, whichis yet to be firmed up. Any tips? I'm also wondering how many consultants really stick closely to the dialogue they're supposed to? I've been to quite a few parties (varied companies) and have found some sales pitches to behokey, too hyper, pushy or droning on and on, or sweetie-pie fake. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm afraid to come across those waysand worry that I'll sacrifice a lot of the information if I stick to who I am naturally (mellow, quiet). Is there any hope for me? smileys/smiley5.gif [I ask that light-heartedly].

Sheri - just be yourself. I think when people are trying to sound a certain way, that is when they end up sounding fake, too hyper, etc. Practice on your kids and your husband! And you already have a lot of excitement about The Body Shop, and that will come through. And it will rub off on the guests!
