For starting an individual small business, especially online, I'll suggest you start with some good dropshippers. At least you don't need to worry about the stock & initial investment.
Try taking a look at this site: www.giftamax.com (http://www.giftamax.com)
I ordered from this dropshipper when I sold online before. Now I'm doing some other business and so don't mind disclosing to you.
Good luck

Have product shipped from the manufacturer. But, test them out first. Place a dropship order to yourself and see how it goes. How long did it take to get the order, did they place any of their advertisements in the package, etc. If all goes well, go for it. But, you have to keep a hold on the number of each product that they have available. You don't want to sell a product only to find out your supplier is out.

Hi, if you are buying in bulk check first if the items will sell, check the rrp price of the items if you have details and see if profits can be made. Its best to pick up the items your self rather than having it delivered as delivery cost are usually very high. Also check the condition of items and grades.
