I recently gave a pumpkin spice votive to a potential customer to try. She just responded back to me on how disappointed she was because she could detect NO SCENT!!! I'm just amazed by this. I figure she just wasn't interested and used that as an excuse..either that or she has no sense of smell!

Have her try a different scent - we were just talking about this in the "scent throw" topic that some people cannot smell some scents but can smell others. Maybe that happened to her. I hope she is open minded.

When I first lit a fewvotives- I too was disappointed AT First... but the next day that's all I could smell all throughout my apartment. They've all burned out- but I still catch a whiff of them every now and then. I gotta join SOON- I need more scents!!!

It could be that she was using that as an excuse- or maybe she didn't smell it- ask if she's interested in smelling a different scent.

LKZ, you must be going through withdrawal lol! It is a great business for candle lovers.

I think the candles havesuch a natural scent that we are expecting the sickeningly sweet perfumy smell. But I could never go back to that. smileys/smiley11.gif

edited to say that she may just be congested too.

Nope, she's not interested. So, it's a dead issue. It was just unreal to me considering pumpkin spice is one of my top sellers - I have one at my desk and the whole side of my office smells like pumpkin! Even my co-worker was surprised because she is a big buyer of my candles. Oh well, live and learn.

Hi Mika,

I got the same response yesterday from a lady I sent a votive too. I could not believe it either but to each it own. I love them and many other do as well. Do not let one out of many stop you!

Many Blessings,

Natalie

that is why I hardly ever push our votives by thereself because I'm always scared they will be disappointed because I don't feel they get the full scent that they get from our jars. I always suggest that they use them in a very small room or take the wick out and put them in a electric burner. They smell very strong like that. I would hate for a new client to just try a votive and make their decision about our products from that. I don't always think it would be a good decision they will be left with. Love those jars though, lol.....JMO

Hello Fellow Candles Lovers!

Just a note on this subject, so many people hear thru the many grapevines how our candles smell up the whole house and may 'assume' that means the votives!

The jars will fill a whole house, mine is about 1500 sq ft and you can smell a jar in every room!(I've heard claimsone jar can fill a 3000 sq ft home!) However a votive will fillsmaller areas such as bathroom/hallway or dining room/kitchen.

I think some people expect a little 2.5 oz votive to fill their whole home with aroma and when it does not, they get dissapointed...Wheras if they were expecting fragrance in a smaller area then they may not be dissapointed!

I always make it a point shoppers or potential team members that jars = house, votives = small area. Also there is the hi/low to burning candles. If the candle is high on a shelf, heat rises and the scent will fill the higher air first! Try burning on a lower coffee table *wink*.

Just what I've experienced with the candles the past year!

As always ENJOY our lovely candles! I've never met a Mia Bella I didn't like!

Hi All! Thanks for your input. To be honest, I've never had a problem with the pumpkin spice not filling up an area or house with its scent - I've found it to be the strongest scent so far. I have a number of clients who have purchased the pumpkin spice votive and said it's filled their whole house. My house isonly 1400 sq ft and when I light a votive, I can smell it all over. Ultimately, I think there is just gonna be a few people who are just never happy. I'm not letting it bring me down..I just got an order from a new client for at least 7 jars and a couple dozen votives!smileys/smiley1.gif
