Hey everyone! I feel like I know you all personally and we've never met! Someone already said it, but wouldn't it be great if we were all on the same team! Anyways, I am still quite new to my area. I had a party scheduled for next weekend, but they rescheduled to the end of next month. So, I decided to just have a party myself. Has anyone had success w/ having an open house and inviting your neighborhood? I live on a culdesac w/ another right next to us. I though of just inviting these two since we are all pretty much neighbors. Should I try to catch someone home, or just leave the flyer at the door?? I can't believe I am doing this, but I have to start somewhere!!

I think that is a great idea! I woudl do the flyers & then follow up with a reminder call. You can get reverse numbers off the internet. Just google reverse directory or criss cross directory. Many are free. In my group they all do a business launch - which I am assuming is a kind of open house type of thing. I am going to one tonight. They suggest holding it on two consecutive days. I would over-invite because it has been my (limited) experience that about 1/4 will actually end up showing up!

Are you going to do a come & go type thing or just display the products & have a brief presentation?

Let us know how it all works out!

I am going to do a very brief presentation and then just let them try all the products. I will have raffles and gift baskets to show. I am a military spouse and I met another military spouse who sells Tastefully Simple so she is coming to. She is inviting all of her clients. I am heading out now to drop flyers off at neighbors, and hopefully catch some moms home. I will let everyone know how it goes!!

I don't want to be negative, but we had an open house and
nobody we invited came. Of course, we have only lived in
this neighborhood for less than two months and nobody really
knew us.

I think we will try again later. One of the good things about
this business is that are so many different ways to do the
business. Some things will works, and others will NOT.

You won't know unless you try.

I have picked up a lot of good ideas from this forum. Some
have worked and some.....smileys/smiley5.gif

yeah, I am definetly not counting on just my neighbors showing. I justed dropped off the flyers. That was the hardest thing I have done so far!!! I was so nervous! But, it is worth the shot, right!

Good for you - at least you are trying. Do you have a script? pm me if not:)) I recently had an open house for my neighbors and it was a wash!! I have had more success at other parties! But, if nothing else they will know that you are the person for skin care etc.

Thanks gals! Yes, I have a script. I feel pretty confident in my party presentations, I am just ready to DO THEM!!! I have 3 for next month, but I am "chompin' at the bit"!! ;)

did you just leave flyers at their doors?? I know 3 of my neigbhors so I plan on personally inviting them. One is having a party for me next month. She has a Mary Kay account, but wants to close it. I am not going to "pounce" on her, but I definetly want her to see the Arbonne difference before her party so she can be more excited. She has never heard of us before.

I dropped a puppy off to a friend who'd used MK for many years. She was really impressed with the products & will buy an re9 set!

Hey Bev,

I dropped off to a MK user and she said that the RE9 made her face feel sticky... and she said that she would never put anything on her head that would make it "burn" (I had to laugh because that's what she said when she got the sample of the Thermal Fusion Hair Revitalizer!) I calmly explained that it just "heats up" and doesn't "burn", and I think that she had already decided that the product was expensive (even though I don't think she had seen the price!)

Oh well! My mom used to sell MK and she LOVES Arbonne. I guess that this lady is one of my 100 NO's on the way to NVP!smileys/smiley1.gif

How funny! I am doing an open house on Sunday for my neighborhood and am combining it w/ Tastefully Simple b/c on of my BB's sister sells it and we have combined our invites.

I sent out invites via mail. My husband is a real estate agent and just pulled our neighborhood and put it into a spreadsheet and we printed labels. It was a snap, but.....I just got an invitation Monday for a Halloween Party at our playground for Sunday so not sure how it will turn out.

We are also putting up signs on the corners of the entrances of the neighborhood. It wouldn't hurt to even put a few up on nearby street corners as well as a few flyers here and there.

Thought I'd give an update on the open house party tonight. I had one neighbor attend, one that I talked with personally, along w/ my real estate agent and her friend. So, that is 3 out of like 25 I invited. But, the girl who does Tastefully Simple brought4friends that I never met. So I thought it was a success. Not a big volume night, but I met 5 new people whom I have phone #s and addresses, and they all bought something. So now is the follow-up. One lady has been a MK user for 25 years!!! Yikes! But, she loved the pampermint set and bought one. Plus, she said she is going to get back w/ me about Christmas gifts! So we will see! I was hoping to get a party booked. No such luck. But who knows down the road! So, my advice to people who are new to their area and who want to do an Open House - you can put flyers out, but best results are done when you can invite the person face to face. Also, find someone in the area who sells something non-skincare, like Tastefully Simple, and team up. So if you only know 3 people, and she knows 3 people, now you have 6 hearing about Arbonne! Another tip! GET THE PRODUCT ON THEIR SKIN AT THE PARTY!! I made the mistake of having "sample stations" w/ the RE9 at the sink w/ directions. Only 2 people tried it out of 8. Of course, those 2 people bought product. I did the foot station w/ the tubs and everyone loved that. But next time while they are soaking their feet I will go through the RE9 and try to get everyone to try. Sorry so long. Just learning as I go!
