View Full Version : I'm a lurker

I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been "lurking" on the site for weeks. This is, by far, the best place I have found for BC ideas and support. I haven't even posted anything, but I've learned so much.

I signed up in May, but becuase of travel plans was unable to go to BU until July. I had orginally signed up for the great discount, but after attending BU I thought that I could make this into a business.

I've had one Spa, that my mom hosted. I'm almost embarrassed to write that NO ONE came. I couldn't believe it.. I'm actually now starting to think something must have happened to the invites because no one even called, which was very weird considering who was invited.

Anyway, I've decided to not let that stop me and I'm going to keep trying. So far I've made some "Spa Bags" that I'm delivering to a few people that didn't attend the spa, neighbors, and the ladies that work at my DH's office. I included samples and a letter letting them know about Spa's, a description of the products, etc. Lots of thing I learned on here actually.

I've also got a "Traveling Spa Basket" that I'm going to bring to my office tomorrow. It's taken me awhile to get everything together like I want it, but I think it looks great. I used some of the information from the freeshare site to put it together and to write the instructions that I will include. I'm really hoping these efforts pay off and I book some spas.

If these two things don't work, then I'm thinking about doing the "gift bag" idea that I saw posted earlier on this site. Plus a friend of mine that also signed up in May and I are going to do a local craft show. We've already signed up.

I do have a full-time job so some of the ideas, like work spas and school spas, are things that I really can't do. Plus I have to do a lot of the extra stuff after work, and after all the home stuff.

I'm married with a 2-year-old (3 in Dec!), and I'm expecting my 2nd. We just found out. I'm only four weeks, but we are really excited. I would love for my BC business to kick off so that I could potentially (fingers crossed) stay home after the baby and do BC full time. I've read a lot of the stories (and heard) of how women were able to leave jobs and make BC a full-time career and I hope that it can work for me too.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm here... reading, and thanking God that I found this site. I think you guys are fantastic!!!! And I plan on copying everything you do!!!!

don't completely write off school and work spas...you could spa the teachers after school or on a weekend...does your 2 year old go to preschool or daycare...spa the staff there as an appreciation for the care they give your child...good luck and welcome
