Ok..several things I could use some input on:

First..for those of you who work with real estate agents with MB..what exactly do you say to them, or how are you using them with your business? We just bought our home in June, and I'd like to approach our realtor about MB, but I'm not sure exactly how to sell him on it lol.

Secondly...have any of you ever had your votives/samples etc sitting out if you had a garage sale? We are having one when we come back from our vacation in 3 weeks, and I'm thinking maybe I could just put scent samples stapled to business cards out on a table?

Third..since we did just move into our neighborhood, only one neighbor has introduced themselves. Its a great neighborhood, really nice..but a little "uppity" I think..well..most of them are. Maybe its just because we came from a completely different neighborhood and we arent used to this yet. I'm thinking about just putting together some little packets, introducing myself, stating im a WAH/SAHM, that I sell MB, and include a votive. I'm thinking about buying retired votives to do this *more cost efficient*, just to get my name out, and let them smell the strength of our candles. Do you think this is a bad idea, to use retired scents? Its gonna take some serious coming out of my shell for me to do this.

Thanks for reading!! Thank you in advance for responses!!

Hi Shay,

I can give you my opinion on your second question, regarding the garage sale. I think that's a very good idea and you should do it. You can put votives, scent samples, or even jars and just let people to smell them and let them know that this is your business, so they will know when they need a candle/candles they can just knock on your door and place an order. smileys/smiley1.gif

As far as the retired scent, I don't see anything wrong of getting them. Maybe you can get 1 or 2 different scent. 1 fruity and the other one more spice or baking or floral. Ask the neighbor which scent do they prefer generally, so you can give them a sample of something that they will like.

Good luck!smileys/smiley2.gif

>> My mother in law used our garage as a place for her garage sale - I set up a table with my Mia Bella's - I sold way more Mia Bella's than she did all her stuff!!!! I believe in about 3 hrs I made $75!

Good idea Livvy on letting them pick which scent..I didnt think of that..I thought about just having a small package pre-made, but if i let them pick their scents, maybe it would get them more interested!! Thanks ladies!

Sounds like the garage sale idea is a definite lol

I don't have much to add but my old Realtor includes our Bella Buns in her "Welcome/Congratulations" baskets and is looking forward to adding the Pies to that now too. I just asked her and she LOVED the idea. She also carries a Simmer Pot with her and usually Hot Apple Pie melts, Clean Cotton(new name, can't remember) or SOCP melts when she does open houses. Some peoples houses SMELL! Ewwww! LOL

On another note, we moved to a new town in January and talk about UPPITY! OMG, I love my house but this town is just too much!

Wow, my sister is a realtor and she always gives a thank you basket to all her clients. She started using our Jar Candles in her baskets too. I'm trying to get the other realtors in the office too but haven't had any luck so far (and they know I sell candles....they burn in the office everyday LOL)

You can also approach them by saying to use the simmer pots and/or jar candles during their open houses as well.
