I got an email today from a lady in my area who has started a catering business from her home. She said that she may want to host a candle party and maybe we could do some "trading". (she could fix food for my parties) That would be ok but what could I do on my end? I see her point of view of helping each other with getting our names out there but I don't know if this is a good idea? Any opinions on this??

Hmmm, depends on what she had in mind. Was she only planning on one party and then havingher cater all your parties? That don't seem of equal value if you know what I mean. JMO Edited by: cherylsal

I'm not sure. I think she only meant one party.
Ok I just read the email again and she said we could "trade merchandise" if applicable. If I or one of my hostesses ever wanted her to cater a party.Edited by: gamommy

You may want to be careful too with having food with your parties. Especially if food is going to be cooking because the smell of the food will take away from the scent of your candles and you certainly don't want that to happen. Of course, you could have the food in the kitchen only and your candle preparation in the living room or another part of the room and that may be okay.
Maybe you could suggest that you give her information (biz card or something) out to your customers at your parties and she do the same for you.
