View Full Version : Any manly product lines?

Lisa0175

Obviously between all the WAHMs on this board we've got just about any woman and child product covered. I have been thinking, about the guys. My husband, dad, brothers and BIL, they are all "men's men" and don't really respond to shower gels and candles.

Anyone have products for such beasts, I mean wonderful fellows?

Thank you!
Lisa

Watkins has products for men. Men usually purchase the following Watkins products:

Insect repellent and vanilla cologne rollette forfishing and hunting. Yes, the cologne is super to ward off bugs!

The Mens formula supplement.
White Liniment, Red Liniment(endorsed by Johan Santana), Srpay Liniment for hard working days (aches and pains). Petro carbo for cuts and scrapes.

Body and bath products such as the Aloe & Green Tea shampoo & conditioner, plus others.

Men who love to cook love our BBQ & Grilling gourmet products, plus hot sauces!

We have a variety of products folks purchase for a man's basket and stocking stuffers. Feel free to PM me!

Hey Lisa, I was kinda wondering the same thing. Latasia has a men's line including a necklace, tie chain, rings, cufflinks, money clips, bracelets and some are even engraveable. All of our men's line is stainless, so it's built tough, like our men, lol. And we do have a titanium ring now too.

I've given jewelry before though so I'm looking for other types of manly gifts for all of them this time around. If anybody has any Christian manly gifts and fishing/hunting themed gifts feel free to let me know!!

Shaklee is great for men, women, couples, etc.

We have products that people use every day, in growing markets: nutritional supplements, air and water purifiers, green cleaning products, daily care products.

There is a HUGE market with Baby Boomers alone, who want to look younger, feel better, and live longer.

It's a great company that has longevity and integrity and lots of REAL science that drives their products.

A great business opportunity that will last and give you residual income into the future.

I've noticed an increasing number of men at our church wearing cross necklaces. I don't know if it's a trend or what, but it's very attractive.

My hubby has gotten into bold Western style watch bands. Just a thought.

Bianca, you just made me remember something! We make Disciple's cross necklaces! Theyhave a great message andcreate great witnessing opportunities because of what each component symbolizes. Here's a pic of one in a feminine color. Hubby's wearing one with a gold wire around it now. Just an idea if anyone wants some :-) If the pic is huge I apologize, I have this at my photobucket account and although I've been offered help on resizing I haven't taken anyone up on it. Lazy me :-(

I like that cross Krystal.

I plan on giving some guys Watkins sauces, etc.

My BIL is single and has his own place so I plan on giving him a satin black Scentsy warmer with some of our nature scents.

This is a great topic to get ideas. Thanks

Men reallly like our skin/shaving care line just for them.Sensaria's face scrub for a closer shave has volcanic pumice in it... you can't get more manly than that! Our men's face wash/shave gel has skin soothers and hydratating desert plants along with our hydragel post-shave treatment. Bothreduce irritation, ingrown hairs, razor bumps and breakouts. My husband loves it! The shave gel iswonderful for us ladies too.http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif It's what I'm giving all the men on my Christmas list this year.
Our green tea bodycare products and the rosemary mint products are usually a hit scent wise with the men. Our aromatherapy massage oils area nice treat too.

I use to make Disciple's Crosses too--I guess I still could if I wanted to--but anyway, my husband wears a couple of them. I think he has a navy and gold one and a brown one I think. I have also made black ones or school color ones for men. BTW, I'm just suggesting colors--not interested in making anyhttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif.

Urban Botanic can make manly fragrances also. Our product bottles are very neutral--you write the name on it yourself. We have a few recipes other Fragrance Designers have made--one is called "Manimal" LOL! However, we mix according to the customer--you can pick the fragrances and name it whatever you wish!

As far as fishing themes--well...I can hook you up with a stuffed Moose in a fishing outfit--very adorable! (Noah's Ark)

Oh Angie, that moose would be perfect for my brother in law! They lived in Alaska for a long time when he was in the military but now they are home. They still love Alaska and he is a fishing freak! He even flew from New Orleans where he would come in from his oil rig on the Gulf to Alaska to work as a fishing guide last summer. Do y'all have voice boxes for the animals too?

The Body Shop has different men's lines as well. We have 5 different fragrance lines. They are moisturizing and smell very manly. We have shaving cream, aftershave balm, cologne, face wash, etc. They are coming out with a new line next month for the Fall Collection. You can purchase them separately or ina gift set. You can check out my website or pm me and I will tell you what each one smells like. We also have 2-3 different fragrance lines that are unisex and do not smell really feminine. They are more unisex and one will be featured in our new fall line. We have lotions, body butters, etc in thosefragrance lines. MenREALLY LOVE our products. I seen a lot of them in the store, whenI promote the at homedivision. They are repeat customers too.

Yea,
Well believe it or not, just the other day, now that you remind me, Shelly, lol, I was thinking that The Body Shop doessound like a car shop or if you didn't put what we sold on the biz card you could mistake it for an auto body shop or even something more x-rated like the body shop at home-ahem. As well, I thought my motto would belikeOne Stop Body Shop, and then I thought oh yea, they do use that motto for autos. Okay, I know who cares. But maybe guys would be more apt to buy with that motto.I know I digress...Dare I post these meanderings? Will anyone understand my train of thought, Sorry if Icome off strange, ladies. It's late good night!Edited by: cloud9

Elsie, You made me laugh! Hey, sometimes, creative thinking for ways of selling makes you realize all sorts of stuff!! I know that I am the most creative at night. I thought it was cute.

It appears that our companies are marketable to men! This is a wonderful thing!

I haveA LOTof repeat men customers at my farmers markets. And, I even have a few men that sell Homemade Gourmet on my team (and another 3 that are looking at it).

We have some great jewelrypieces for men:

3 belts
2 rings (both sterling silver)
2 bracelets (one sterling silver, one rubber and sterling silver)
2 necklaces (one bamboo and one puka beads, wood, sterling silver and leather)
2 sets of cuff links (sterling silver with onyx and an engravable sterling silver)

I think most of the women at my shows don't even realize that they are in the back of the catalog. I am actually displaying a necklace and bracelet this fall with a sign saying that we have great gifts for men. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

As I mentioned in my first post, I have a family of manly men. Not into jewelry (except wedding rings), I'm not into giving supplements or vitamins and they really aren't the skin care type.

The only biz that hasresponded thatwould work for theseguys would be the jerky and maybe some of the food items. Do they just sell the jerky already done or can you buy seasoning to make your own?

If there are any other biz's out there that are not like the ones listed, please let me know. I'm all for supporting WAHMs since I am one myself. I know my guys and while they may not be Grizzly Adams, they arefar frommetro-sexuals.

Thanks for all those that have posted. Maybe this is an area that could be tapped into a little more.

LOL Lisa @ Metro-Sexuals. That's too cute. I understand where you are coming from on the manly man thing. My husband wouldn't wear the men's bracelets that we had when our first men's line came out last year. He is a hard working blue collar man and the farthest thing from "metro-sexual" you could ever meet. His loves, besides me and our son of course, are working, hunting and fishing. BUT, he does love our rings because they aren't bling bling, they are sturdy manly looking rings. Mostly bought for wedding bands by the ladies because of how tough looking they are and they think their men would rather have a tough looking and tough acting ring than some little "pretty" band and I have had guys by our men's line (yes, even bracelets) for themselves too and trust me, these are oilfield, log woods, plywood millmanly men, LOL.

So, while you aren't interested in what we all have to offer, I seriously don't think every manthat has gotten things from the companies that have tried to help ya out is "metro-sexual". My husband would DIE if I told him he just got lumped into that category ROFL!!!! I do hope you find what you are looking for for the guys in your life. Hopefully ONE of the DS companies will have a great product line that will fit your guys perfectly!!!

Lisa, you didn't offend me at all!! It just struck me as cute with the whole "metro-sexual" thing is all. I'm sorry if the post came off as offended. I think this is an awesome thread you have started and I, as you, would get a "look" from the men I have to buy for if I gave them shower gel or skin care. They do like our men's jewelry though but I can't give them that anymore. Anyway, I'm going to hush, LOL. I'm sure you didn't offend anyone and I apologize if I offended you :-)

08-21-2007, 11:47 AM
Lisa, I wasn't offended either. My husband isn't into "skin care" either! He won't give up his bar soap even for the more unisex scented body washes. Hedid think it was a little funny when I set our men's line on the counter for him, but he does like his face not being torn up by shaving. He's a convert and he doesn't change easily! That's why our line is marketed as a shaving solution, the skin care just happens to be there.http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

Heritage Makers! There's no doubt about it... men absolutely LOVE books about themselves. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif They also love books about their children, their parents, their hobbies, etc. There's no end to the topics you can put into a Heritage Makers (http://www.MemoryPreserver.com) book. We also have a lot of male clients that love to create their own books... whether it's about their family history, their company softball team, or just to memorialize a camping trip with the guys... they have a blast with it. Here are some examples:
* For Fathers' Day, my daughters gave their grandfather a gift of a book they called "Hannah, Autumn, and PopPop's Fun Day Out." They wrote the story and did all the illustrations themselves (they were 3 and 4 at the time). Their grandfather cried when they gave it to them, and now carries it with him everywhere. He even shows it to the clerks at the grocery store!

* For his birthday, my daughters gave their father a book I had put together called "Daddy's Girls." It was filled with photos of the three of them doing fun things together, and the text was all about why they loved their Daddy. My gift to him was a book I created as a portfolio of his pen-and-ink drawings from high school through college and early adulthood. I simply scanned in the drawings, created simple backdrops for each page, and let his artwork speak for itself. I gave the cover a worn-leather look with scuffed edges and titled it "Shades of Imagination." He loves both books tremendously.

* Our company CEO and his brothers recently took a trip with their Dad back to where he grew up. They had some old black-and-white photos from his childhood, and visited as many of those same locations as they could find still in existance in order to have "then and now" comparisons. It was a real bonding experience for them... andour CEO put it all into abook and published copies for himself, his Dad, and each of his brothers.

SO, think about the look on the faces of your male loved ones were they to open a gift box to find an heirloom, hardbound book with their picture on the cover and their story on the pages in between. I'm tellin' ya... it's priceless! And for those who you think would enjoy creating their own books, I do offer gift certificates as well. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

Blessings,
Christy
