After searching for a tutorial, I figured I would ask here - just in case!
I hope I can explain this easily...I am attempting to make a header. I did File - New and made it 9 x 3 - and checked off White at the bottom.
Then I entered the text I wanted.....
Then what I WANT to do is insert little houses along the bottom, but how do I get the houses there??
I went to open and choose the house graphic but when I try to move it (I am selecting the move tool) it will not move "out" of it's own little window and onto the header where the text is....
Here is a screenshot:

If anyone can tell me what to do I would really appreciate it!

What is the image type of the house? I tend to have problems moving a gif to a jpeg.
In general though, if I have problems, I select the portion of the image I want, copy and then paste it into a new file (generally, pasting into the image I already created doesn't work for me) and then I can move it over.

yes I usually select all and then put it into the file by copying and pasting. But first you may need to remove the background if you don't want the color there too.

Hi Ebay Momma,
You need to use the "Selection" Tool, not "Move". Just select your house, copy it, add a new layer to your header and then paste the house onto the header.Adding the new layer will allow you to move the house independently of the text on your header.
Hope that helps!

There are many ways to do things in photoshop but one way you could move the house around, is open the Layers Window and drag the Background Layer on the House file to the Layers Window for your banner. Then you'll have two layers, one with text, and one with the house. Once it is in the same document, you can use the Move tool, you can also hold Alt and use the Move tool and it'll make a duplicate so you can line up those houses on the bottom. It'll make a new layer for each house so you can just click on the layer you want to play with and use the Move tool.
Good luck!

Thank you guys SO much!
I did select->ALL when my little house chosen, then ctrl-c and then clicked on my banner and did ctrl - v - WORKED LIKE A CHARM!!!
I am such a newbie at this Photoshop stuff, thanks for helping me make sense of that!
