Extremely important!!! I just try to think of all the times I was handed a sample, or someone put brochures on my door, and I never thought about it or used it. I try to get a phone # with each sample I give or business card I hand out.

you HAVE to follow up, it's the key! I like to ask how they prefer to be contacted, either by phone or email and if by phone I like to get a time frame and/or best day- I think people appreciate it when you ask them how they want to be contacted.

Hi Terry and Betty

If you eamil me at trenttacoma@aol.com I will send you the one on one presentation that our team is using. You simply print it out, put it in a binder and go through page by page with your prospect. I love this new approach and it is so easy.

Follow up allows us to either close the deal or provide more information so the prospect is able to make an informed decision. I like to do it in person because it is easier to blow someone off in a phone call or skim an email & delete it if it gets read at all. The same is true for us, emails & phone calls let us off the hook & relieves some of the pressure we feel.

I also think prospects can perceive our sending emails or making phone calls as lessening the value of them or the message (not to say that they aren'tvaluable tools when used strategically). Think about it, if someone wants to see you in person, you know you are the focus of the meeting. The email you receive could be part of a mass mailing with the name changed & the phone call is typically one of many/several on a list.

I have found customer service to be the core of every business, many times, making or breaking them. It is about focusing on the customer/client/prospect and not on us. This helps take some of the fear out of approaching them.

Yes, I completely agree with you about it's best meeting with them in person, when you are already at "that place" in the process where you need an appointment. Earlier when I said I liked to ask which way they preferred to be contacted, I wasspeaking moreabout when you first meet someone- like a waitress whom you strike up a conversation with, kwim? If you are already at "that place" in the process, then of course you definitely want to be face to face.

I didn't get a pup out today, but I met with two business builders and followed up by phone with one person with a pup. Will meet with her on Wednesday. One of my BB is having holiday open house tomorrow. We are getting together later tonight, after the kids are in bed, to finalize the details.

Thanks again for sharing Keri. I know it takes time to share this with everyone.
This is what I love about Arbonne. Everyone seems to be on the same team!

thanks again

Just an FYI on the Misty Whitfield presentation, I (and my team) like it SO MUCH Better than the REsults Presentation that Arbonne put out. And since it is approved by Arbonne we can use it at will!

I think the difference is that it focuses on the opportunity more and less on the actual product. For getting BB you have to focus on the business and not just the product. It is hard to get someone to understand that this is not about selling product if all we are doing with them is trying to sell them the product!

At our team meeting last Thursday we talked about this very thing. That those prospects that you focus on the product with tend to buy the product and think about the business. But those prospects that you focus on the business first -- then the product, turn into BB!

EVERY BB that I have was brought in by talking about the opportunity(business) first (using Misty's presentation), then handing them the pup and getting back with them 2-3 days later. It's almost as if they even think about the product differently when they are trying it because they have already got the presentation in their mind!

Does that make sense to anyone?

Soonergirl74
10-17-2005, 08:50 PM
Makes sense to me.

And I think this sentence

It is hard to get someone to understand that this is not about selling product if all we are doing with them is trying to sell them the product!

is key. Remember, very few people like to sell but everyone loves to shop at a discount. It's hard for people to believe that you aren't really selling them when the first thing you do is give them some products to try.

Go over the presentation first. Then they are more excited to try the products. They will start thinking of who they might know who wants it. Then when you pick it up you show them how to order at a discount & help them pick out products. Also you can ask if they have thought about the business side of it during those two days. Most should be ready at this point but if not take them to meet the team.

Make it fun & casual!

Here's another question, what do you leave with your prospect after giving the presentation? Curiosity pack? Do you let them borrow one of your extra RE9 sets for them to get out to friends and family right away if they're interested?

LMichelle

Soonergirl74

LisaMichelle-

If you haven't given them a demo set yet then leave that. You can also give them a curiosity pack & give them a copy of the 45 Second book & ask them to read the first 35 pages. At the end of the presentation you should know where they are as far as interest goes.

When you pick up the demo then you can meet with them for 20 minutes. If they want to be a BB then go over their first order & the "I'm a Consultant, Now what?" that Rick Teague put together. That can actually be a 3 hour class so don't go too in depth, just enough that they know to read it & check things off. Invite them to meet the team.

If they just want to be a wholesale buyer or if they are unsure about the business then go over the WB option & help them with their first order. Then BAM FAM. Book a meeting from a meeting. Invite them to meet the team. If they are sure they just want to be a WB & nothing else that is fine, you just do as you would a WB.

Of course if you lead with the product then the scenario is a little different. You give them the product to try then meet with them & go over the presentation. Then the rest follows. Give them the 45 Second & curiosity packet at this point & BAM FAM...etc etc. If they only want the discount then you can help them with their order then. If they are unsure, BAM FAM.

Also, try to keep the presentation to no more than 30 minutes. Hard to do if they stop you several times during it so ask that they keep questions until the end so you can keep the presentation short. The reason for this is if you keep them there 2 hours then they think that's what they're going to have to do to build the business & they will think they don't have time.
