I am just starting out with At Home America with their free start up promotion and I am wondering if anyone else sells this stuff and how are they doing? I am nervous.

Leah has just done some amazing things with AHA. You should check out the topic "You'll NEVER believe THIS..." It was started by her and I think you'll findit really encouraging. Best wishes. I'll be saying a little prayer for your success!

Take care and God Bless!

Hi Tracy! It's me! Leah! Welcome to the AHA Family!

So tell us, Tracy, what's got you so nervous? Is your mentor near you? I can tell you that this is my third direct sales company and I'm hooked! Even my husband loves AHA. Like every direct sales company, to feel that you are successful, it can take time, committment and sometimes good old fashioned work. But when you're having this much fun, it hardly feels like "work".And with AHA you really are joining a family and with very little time you'll start to form relationships with people from across the country. We're all here to support each other!

Why did you decide to start with AHA?

I look forward to getting to know you! You'll see me rather often on the HSS bulletin boards as well. smileys/smiley2.gif

My mentor is near me! I looked into the company back in July and I finally made the decision to join the team.

I am mostly nervous about finding people to host shows. I don't know very many people here in MI (I just moved here from NY). Any tips?

Start with a business launch at your own home. Invite everyone you know
in your new town and also invite your neighbors even if you haven't met
them! It will be a great way to get to know them. I did this in a
town where I was new and it was great! I got some sales but more
importantly I asked for bookings and got them. I met more people this
way and my new neighbors were really willing to help me get started.

Cheryl's right. You'll really just have to start talking to everyone you can. And don't just tell them what you do, invite them to experience it! Carry catalogs or anticipations with you everywhere you go. I prefer anticipations. If she seems really excited about it, I'll take out a notepad and say, "I can see you really like the HomeWares in this little brochure. And if you like those, you'll LOVE our catalogs. Why don't we do this, give me your address and I'll get some catalogs in the mail to you right away". That way you've got an opportunity to ask for contact information. You can also ask for the phone number so that you can check in a few days to make sure she's received the catalogs and answer any questions she might have. If she's REALLY excited about what she sees, offer to bring your studio to her home, share it with friends and family, and earn all her favorites without paying full price on anything.

The key will just be getting out of the house a lot and practicing talking to people about what you do and inviting them experience it for themselves. The more you do it, the more comfortable you'll become. I'll never foget hearing Lisa B say "there are NO hostesses or potential homestyle specialists in your house!". That helps get me up and moving some days, and gives me the courage to get involved in group activities that I might otherwise shy away from.

Keep your eyes and ears open for craft sales and fundraisers. If you can participate or even donate an item it will help get the word out about your business. You might also want to consider creating a network of other direct sellers. I held a bunch of home parties over the summer. The best thing I got out of it was a great network of business connections who are always sure to tell me about an expo or fair or any other business opportunities they hear about. Most of all, work with your mentor and executive closely. Tell them what your goals are and they should be able to offer other ideas specific to where you live that can help you meet your goals.

Good luck!
