Hi...

Maybe it's just me, but I finally lit my Sweet Orange and Chili Pepper jar candle today expecting it to scent my whole house (as posted by others and in the testimonials in our brochures) and GUESS WHAT? Even after three hours, no scent whatsoever was noticeable throughout the roomfrom my candle! There was only a faint scent that I could pick up on if I was standing right by the candle. Has anyone else had this happen? Right at this point, I'm not too certain that I made the right decision because this product isn't living up to my expectations (from what the literature says about the ability to scent the whole room or whole house, in some cases). Is it just this scent that might be too light? (By the way, I have a teeny, tiny house that is less that 1,000 square feet and only one level.) I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed this with any of their jar candles. Thank you in advance for any insight into this. I guess I will go and light the Caramel Apple and see what that does. Thanks again!smileys/smiley1.gif

Hi Angelwings,

I am sorry to hear that the Sweet Orange and Chili pepper did not meet you expectations. I have had a few that have been that way for me. Try another scent and see how that works out for you. I would hate for you to think you made a mistake over one candle scent. Have you tried Appleberry cobbler or creme bruele. Those are awesome!

Do not give you just yet!smileys/smiley2.gif

Many Blessings,

Natalie

I think it may just be that scent. I lit a White Chocolate & Coffee in my kitchen recently and it really did smell in the next room over. I blew it out later and I could still smell it lingering around. I think some scents are just stronger than others.

Hi, I burned my Sweet Orange chili Pepper. I live in a mobile home and I can honestly say that I could smell it from 1 end to the other. I had it in my bedroom on my computer desk which is at 1 end of the trailer and could go to my children's bedroom at the other end and could smell it very good.

My Sister got the same candle and lives in a 2 story house and same thing she could smell it all over her house. She babysits and has just done my 1st showinviting all herbabies momsand guess what?over half the orders which totaled over 600.00 was SOCP.

Just my opinion though.

It's funny how one nose can sense some things that others can't. You may just not have the "nose" for that scent. I know it sounds crazy, but it is possible. I can walk into my Mom's home and smell her candles right away, but my Dad can only smell certain ones.

Crazy but true smileys/smiley1.gif

That is true Tracy and some are definately stronger than others. In MY opinion (for what it is worth, lol) SOCP is not one of our stronger scents.

I had sponsored a girl and she received her SOCP and she was dissapointed too, but she hung on and LOVED our next couple scents!! She was sooo glad she didnt give up!! smileys/smiley17.gif

I'm burning that candle right now and I live in a med. sized ranch home - I can smell it in every room. You may be expecting a very strong fake scent that other candles give off (those give me a headache).

A true test is to go outside for a half and hour and walk back in. You will find that it was there all along, just not the nausiating perfumy smell we were used to with other candles.

This is an awesome scent. If you cannot smell it (and good point Tracy - or no one else can either)- It could just be a bad batch.

My caremel apple candle was like that - very faint but my friend came over and asked what smelled so good - lol I had just gotten used to it.smileys/smiley2.gif

OMG This is so true, not only with good scents but "bad smells" too. We have a situation in our office where there is an individual that has a very unpleasant odor, which could be due to illness or something like that...... however the boss can't smell it. EVERYONE else in the office can. The boss just has to take us on our word on that one. smileys/smiley11.gif

This same boss can smell when food is cooking in the breakroom because she comments on how good whatever it is smells. So she has a sense of smell, just not for some things (and in this case, we really wish she could smell it to understand just how bad things are lol). The sense of smell is a very fickle thing smileys/smiley36.gif

What scents do you feel are stronger? When I first ordered just a couple votives to try the scent before joining (the name intrigued me), I was actually put off by the scent at first. Wasn't sure if Iliked it or not. It was only after I completely burned through the first votive that I figured out that I really liked that scent smileys/smiley36.gif It grew on me fast from that point on smileys/smiley36.gif.

It's funny how things smell different for different people. For me the SOCP candle smells like something burning when I light it. Yet I like the scent when it's not lit.

That happened to me with the water lily and jasmine. i didnt really care for it unlit, but i did burn a votive and the smell was nice and not as strong as it was unlit. go figure!!

Sone strong scents that i like are coconut lime, hot apple pie, banana nut bread, cinnamon raisin bun, clean cotton (i use this one in my guest bathroom. nice fresh scent to it) and i also like cantalope cucumber.

Most of the scents put off a really great aroma wether strong or light. But i do agree that our noses getused to the smell after a little while. Blow your candle out and relight after an hour or so and you will smell it again!!

But what is important is that everyone IS different and what smells great to me, may be your least favorite. So I guess it is good that we have over 90 scents huh????

Is this company awesome or what!!! smileys/smiley32.gif

DHhas a friend that was born with no sense of smell. How awful would that be?! smileys/smiley5.gif He can't smell anything! Thus, he doesn't realize he has very bad B.O. & DH doesn't want to say anything to him about it. His house could definately use a candle, butwhy buy it if you can't smell it? I can't imaginewhat that's like. Poor thing. smileys/smiley13.gif

It's funny, I was just burning the Sweet Orange and Chili Pepper candle last night. I live in a 2 story house, and I could smell it all the way upstairs. I DO think sometimes that you get immune to scents and ok this is going to sound weird, but if you have sinus problems AT ALL.....some days you may not be able to smell as well and not realize it because your not "stuffed up" .....smileys/smiley11.gif

I would say walk out of the house for a bit and walk in. The Sweet Orange and Chili Pepper to me, ( and trust me I am very picky) is a strong one. smileys/smiley2.gif

Wow, what a diverse bunch of scent-sational noses!smileys/smiley36.gif

I joined Mia Bella two years ago because of the wonderful business aspect of it for me, the company, comp. plan, team, training, so many ways (100s) for anyone to grow their business, etc.

I NOW have become a Mia Bella Candle Addict!! We don't love really strong scents, just something to make the air more delicious in a clean (no black stuff) way.

To me, the Sweet Orange and Chili Pepper is so delightful. It's not overwhelming. I tell people I speak with it's like a little orange grove scent in your home. I also LOVE smileys/smiley27.gifthe orange/pink glow that it has while it's burning.

I have to agree with everyone else, I have been burning sweet orange and chili pepper the last few days so I would have a jar to take with me to show no soot. I smell it within 5 mins of lighting, heck it puts aroma as soon as I take the top off.smileys/smiley2.gif Now on the other hand I burned cucumber cantalope votive and couldn't smell it anywhere but right at the votive, its def a lighter scent to me.

I agree to that we are so used to those perfumy smells when you walk into a store or by candles its overwhelming, I hate that, it makes me not breathe. I had a sinus infection last week and I couldn't smell any of the candles and I have alot of them sitting in my living room right now getting ready for flea market.

Everyone is different but I say hold out for a few more scents!!! Don't just a book by its cover, don't judge our candles by one lol. smileys/smiley2.gif

Hi again...

To everybody that suggested I go outside for awhile and then come back into the house to see if I could smell the scent - I did that, and still NOTHING!

However, I received my Spiced Cranberry today (my DH brought the package in and said "you received the porn you ordered" [what a nut! lol])and it does have a very good scent throw - my whole house smells good from this one. smileys/smiley32.gifMy SOCP must have come from a bad batch, I guess. smileys/smiley19.gif
