how much advertising do you do and how much do you pay?

I have found that the best advertising is FREE! I frequent several message boards. When you are an active participant in a community (most of my msg boards center around moms/kids) people tend to feel like they "know" you and want to support you.
Also, what goes around, comes around! I try and purchase things from other WAHMs when I need something. I know I have gotten several orders (and even had someone join my White Lily team!) just because I made a purchase from them. It was, of course, not my intention to have a "reciprocal" order placed, but it does happen that way sometimes.
I also keep my information as a signature to all of my emails.
Good luck!

I have been doing mine online too and think it is going well. I would like to do some partys and such cuz I think I could be making a lot more. I visit some message boards too. Your signature goes a long way! Also have my banner up on some different free sites.

Not me! And I love the freedom of getting out of the house, meeting new moms, and not staring at the addictive screen all day. And making $ for 2 - 3 hours being gone is nice as well. I average from $100 - $300+ per party.
Anyway, thought I'd give a different perspective. I'd rather leave and breath, and make $30+ an hour, then spend 10 hours online to make $30 in a day. smileys/smiley2.gif
Though I do a lot of my team training, etc online and over the phone on Mondays.
So don't close your mind to stretching those legs. It's very profitable and nice for you to have some freedom.
Best of luck!
Debbie

I know you asked who does their biz strictly online, but I thought I would jump in~
I do do some online, but not 100%~ I like to work with my local community as well, and I like the blend ~ Besides, I work best in my PJ's~ LOL! smileys/smiley36.gif

Hi Sue,
Most of my business is done online. I am learning a lot about Internet Marketing at Mom Masterminds. Yes, it's great to network and chat on message boards but your bread and butter is going to come from other areas such as SEO,PPC, adwords, etc (I'm stilllearning about all of thosesmileys/smiley2.gif)and of course promoting in your local area as well whether it be home parties, fairs/festivals, Corporate Gifts, Fundraisers, etc.

Hi, Susan. I am doing a little bit of both - online half the time and the other half doing business locally. I likevariety and sometimes you just need a change of pace depending on your mood smileys/smiley2.gif Edited by: Soy Candle Gal

Hello Everyone,
I am trying to still get my business going both online and in the community. I am new to the community so that is slow going. Plus, I have a full time job. I want to quit that so I want to get my business going better. You all talk about online advertising at different spots, can you tell where? I have searched and tried advertising as much as I can online but it is not working so far. I am trying to do Christmas shopping online this year so I don't have to fight crowds and have been placing orders with other WAHMs for this so maybe that will help. Any ideas on how to get the online business going better? What other sites besides wahm.com and cwahm.com have you posted on or joined?
Thanks,
Alison

I do business online and offline. I like having a system, and a website built by a professional and text from an expert copy writer. I also like that the system is free to start.

Other sites are
InternetBasedMoms.com
Mypartyplanmom
PartyPlanNetwork
And do a google search for something you are interested in...if you
like photography, find a message board for amateur photgraphers.
If you are a Jewish mom, find a message board for others of that
faith/descent. Etc etc.smileys/smiley2.gif

I do my business 99.9% online only. I also work a full time job and whenI get home I really don't want to go out and do parties. So whenI choose Bittersweet, I made sure they had an easy program set up for online sales. A Free website, online ordering for my customers and drop shipping to their door.
