Okay, this QOTW has more than one question:
Does your family celebrate Halloween?
Do you dress up? What are you going to be?
What are your kids going to be?
Do you have any adorable pictures to share with us?

We like to dress the kids up and let them “trick or treat” We tried going to a community Halloween fair last year but it was so crowded! I have taken the girls to church Halloween fairs before and they where fun. I can’t do it this year, but next year I would love to have a party here, w/ fun decorations, games and goodies.

I usually dress up kind of like a gypsy because that’s what I always have on hand. I still don’t know what the kids will be yet.smileys/smiley5.gif
I do have adorable pictures, but they are not on the computer. I will try to post them later.

My son dresses up and we usually only go to our church for the harvest party. He is really afraid of scary costumes and at the church there usually isn't many scary costumes. I haven't dressed up in YEARS....LOL! My son is going to be a race car driver.

We do celebrate. But I haven't dressed up since 10 years old or so. We've always wanted to do the royalty theme...King, Queen, Prince and Princess...butit won't be this year. This year, I told my son, who's 9,"NO NINJA this year!" He was a ninja for 3 years in a row! So he will be an Alien and my daughter is 3 and will bea kitty kat. No pics that I could put my hands on.

Does your family celebrate Halloween?
Oh, YES! We love Halloween!!!
Most of the decorations are in place. We have ghosts looking out every window, cob webs with spiders, tombstones in the yard, a ghost coming up from the ground, a witch smashed into the side of the house etc. etc.
Do you dress up? What are you going to be?
My son likes me to dress up like a witch and I hand out candy from a cauldron.
What are your kids going to be?
I have a 6 year old son and he is dressing up like Yu-Gi from Yu-Gi-Oh. He has dressed up as Spiderman the previous 2 years so I am glad to see him do something different.
Do you have any adorable pictures to share with us?
I have a picture of Matthew inhis Yu-Gicostume. We went to the Ren Fest in KC Sundaybefore lastand he wanted to wear his costume.

Hi Laurie,
Ambrielle is a beautiful name. If I had a girl I would name her Ambrielle Cerese.
Sure, name yourdaughter Ambrielle. It is unusual and she would be lucky to have it.
My real name is Susanne. smileys/smiley29.gif I wish I had a cool name. smileys/smiley1.gif

Yes we celebrate Halloween. Usually, ever year, the weekend before Halloween we have a big party for everyone we know and on the day of we take the kids out trick or treating. This year we haven't got the kids' costumes yet so I'm not sure what they're going to be. I was just curious about those that don't celebrate. Is that a religious thing or??????

This year we moved into our new place on October 14th so we're hoping that the neighbors will just think we're lazy instead of weird for leaving the decor up LOL. smileys/smiley4.gif

We went for years without celebrating but, after much prayerful consideration, about six years ago, we decided that dressing up in cute costumes & visiting friends who dole out candy isn't a bad thing!
Here are some costumes from years past:

I was especially proud of the Madeline costume -- I made it myself and it was much better than the store bought costumes that were so popular that year! This year my youngest (the ultimate girly-girl) is going to be a girl from the '50s; my second to youngest is very athletic so I tried to talk her into being an olympic gold medalist but she wasn't seeing my vision smileys/smiley36.gifso she's going to be an old school punk rocker (think Ramones) instead.

YES! We absolutely celebrate Halloween--fall is my favorite time of the year!!! We live in a small town that has trick-or-treating downtown that is in the afternoon. Then we will go around our neighborhood and church. My daughter is going to be Minnie Mouse. I teach preschool and am planning on being a hippie. All the kids are going to be dalmatians. Hopefully it will be nice weather wise. In Arkansas you just never know what the weather will be like on Halloween!!

We celebrate Halloween. My older kids liked it when I dressed up, but I stopped when my ds got to be about 9. Now that I have little ones again, I've been dressing up, ususally as Raggedy Ann. Ds, who is now 16, is dressing as a girl & going off to a party. My 3 little girls will be dressd as fairies. In a couple of years, I'll be planning halloween-birthday parties, since one of my little ones has a halloween birthday. We're waiting because they are still frightened of masks or face paint, even if they are not necessarily frightening. For now, we will be going to our church for "trunk or treat" and then off to freinds and relatives to show off our little darlings & have pictures taken> smileys/smiley36.gif

Used to dress up as kids, but not into it anymore. Too many crazy psycho people out in this world. I worry about even opening my door nowadays. I will be watching Horror movies during the week of halloween, only thing I like about the holiday! For all those out there celebrating with their family and friends, please be VERY CAREFUL!

I have 'dressed up' on and off over the years. I will be Raggedy Ann on Monday for a costume contest at work. Oldest girl (17) isn't dressing (as of this writing - but it could change - again); Middle girl (13) wears a pair of halloween boxers and calls it dressed up; Youngest (8) just lost a front tooth and is going as a hillbilly! Luckily she has boots, jeans, and a hat so no money for costume! Yeah!
We usually go to a church festival and I won't let the kids dress as ghosts or ghouls, or that type of thing.
No pics, but have a funny story. About 3 years ago I was Raggedy Ann and the baby (then 4 or 5) was Scooby Doo. She was really, really misbehaving at the carnival and I swatted her behind. My oldest just starting howling. Of course I got on to her for laughing at her sister because she was in trouble. She replied that wasn't why she was laughing . . . said it just looked funny that Raggedy Ann was spanking Scooby Doo! I had to agree . . . it must have looked funny!

We loooooove Halloween at my house. I'm pagan, so it's Samhain, for me. I havent asked my boys to choose a religion yet, so it's Halloween to them. This year, my little one was a wizard and my older one was a ninja. I was a black and white ballerina, and my BF was a biker(Not a big stretch, since he really IS a biker!). I'm already thingking of what to be next year, since I plan on making all of our costumes myself. I made mine this year, and it was really fun.

My daughter (19 months) was a cowgirl. I bought leather from someone on Ebay and made her chaps and a vest, bought her a red hat, and red boots, added a white turtleneck and red bandanna and she was sooo cute. I decided on her costume because we have her pictures taken every 3 months, and I wanted some of the pictures to incorporate things that are important to her this year. So...in July her pictures were taken with the family dog - whom she loves. I also wanted to incorporate her rocking horse at some time - since she just loves it and spends alot of time on it - it just kind of evolved into the Halloween costume since the next photo op was slated for October. We took a piece of MDF - added some home made wooden wheels, and a rope, drilled holes in it so that we could use zip ties to tie the horse to the board and then through some straw around the bottom. It looked like an old fashioned wooden pull toy. Initially I had visions of her pulling it around, not riding it, but she is so stable on it, and she loves it so much that I couldn't keep her off of it! We went to two neighbors that we are friends with, and then to the mall. She had a blast looking at all of the other costumes, strangers were even asking if they could take pictures of her, and then she won 2nd place in the costume contest - a $25 mall card! Last year she was an angel - and I made that costume too, I ordered real reather wings from a fairytaleportraitprops.com and they were great! Let me see if I can figure out how to insert pictures - because I have some cute ones. (ever the proud mamma - just not very computer literate!)smileys/smiley36.gif

My husband and I loved taking her around, and she had alot of fun too! We decided that next year, we should dress up too, she would probably think that is fun - I'm trying to think of something that we could all be together - like this year we should have worn western outfits. I just dug our "Santa hats" out from last year, and she was having a blast trying them all on and looking at us in ours - I showed her the pictures of her wearing it last year and she thought that was funny. Amazingly - the baby one that I bought her last year still fits!

We used to celebrate halloween but we did not this last year. I just had a funny feeling about it and decided to pass on it. I thought it would be hard on our two children but they did not bat an eye. They did not care and I thought that was very strange. They used to love dressing up and getting all the candy so to see them be able to give it up, I thought that was pretty remarkable. I explained to them my reasoning and they were ok. They are 8 and 4 years old.

My 16 year old son has gone as Harry Potter for the last 3 years and was also a knight, a ghost, spiderman, cowboy and an old man with a cigar.
I haven't thought about what we will be this year.

Ok, I did it as a kid. It was fantastic! Always had a great time. Lets just say it is not for me, but to those of you that participate be safe and enjoy to the fullest! Those kids are just great they way they look and my wife can't resist puting out candy. I have a boy age 11 and 3 grandaughters so it is not overlooked by any stretch.

I'm trying to convince my dear hubby that we should have a Halloween party this year. Isn't not so inclined..lol.
We usually just let the kids dress up and we go to either a church party or the "Zoo Boo." I love Halloween so whatever we do will be fun.

Does your family celebrate Halloween? Yes it is one of our families favorite holidays because it is the only holiday where the adults and all can play pretend. lol
Do you dress up? What are you going to be? Yes we usually dress up. My husband is going to be a werewolf. I was considering being a winch but not sure.
What are your kids going to be? My 5 year old dd is going to be a fairy. 1 year old dd is going to be a pumpkin.
Do you have any adorable pictures to share with us? unfortunately no.

Having been born on Halloween, of course we celebrate every year. It's my favorite holiday..lol. Although my son is grown and has a four year old...he carries on the tradition. We live in Houston, He is San Diego, so we don't get to participate in his "trick or Treating", we still decorate our yard and home for our neighborhod. Several years ago I found a bunch of little orange pumpkin tea lamps that hang on a black metal rod about 3 feet high...they have a hollowed out face on the front for the candlelight to shine through. I bought 10 and line our sidewalk, 5 on each side from the street to our front porch. Of course I arrange for music to be played through a loudspeaker. spooky sounds etc. I still dress up occasionally. My best homemade costume was a clown, plastic half face with dome top and red hair on the sides, I painted my face and went to salvation army, bought a oversize red and white plaid coat, oversize red tennis shoes, and red and white checkered pants that were so large I had to wear suspenders to hold them up and they came up to mid chest. I think I have a picture somewhere.....will try to locate it. Looking forward to this year.</span></font>

We have always enjoyed Halloween, but the last couple years, we have not celebrated it. We go to a Hallaleuh Party at the church and the kids play games and ride rides that are rented......so they are happy with it and actually like it better.

Yes oh yes! My twins are going to be Buzz lightyear and thomas the tank engine (they are 3). My 5 year old is going as Spiderman.
I'm really excited for my husband and my costumes! We are going as Dog and Beth Chapman (The Bounty Hunter). I got my husband a mullet wig, which I will bead up, and i got myself a Dolly Parton wig. I figure he can wear tight jeans a tank top and bad sunglasses with strings around his arms and grow out a stubble beard. Im going to stuff my bra as much as possible, wear a tight shirt, short shorts and high heeled flip flop type shoes and then give myself an 80's mall makeup makeover. We are going to an adult halloween party so it should be fun!

We love halloween at our house! This year I finally am getting my 7 year old to be something other than some type of ninja!! smileys/smiley36.gif Four years in a row he was some kind of ninja or other. This year he is going to bea marine, just like his uncle he said. smileys/smiley1.gif My one year old is going to be tigger this year, last year he was a pea pod, so cute. My husband always dresses up and sits on the porch real still and scares the bigger kids because he moves just as they are about to take candy out of the bucket. It is a lot of fun. We cannot wait!

We love Halloween too! I just started bringing out the decorations this past weekend! It's great to have all the fall decor out and Anika is running around saying BUMPKN! hahaha
I haven't dressed up in a while. I would love to, but never see any costumes I like and I am so not crafty enough to make one.
Anika's either going to be a Kanga Roo this year or a chicken...I can't decide. Here's her in the two costumes we are choosing from...

Hello! Yes my family celebrates Halloween. Its a fun holiday to take advantage and dress up to whatever you want. Its a day where any kind of clothes is appropriate. Last year me and one of my good friends dressed up as Mario and Luigi. We were the highlights of the parties! It was fun. Not sure about this year. I'm just going to be creative and usually it ends up good!

I love Halloween, it's a lot of fun but I usually don't dress up for it. I like to serve a fun, buffet type dinner with a Halloween theme and my dh and kids really like that.
Both of our kids are in their teens now so I don't think they'll be going out this year althoughour oldest son (he's 17) went out for a while last Halloween. Our other son (he's 15) likes to hand out the candy to kids who stop by the house.

We don't celebrate Halloween. It's not that I have anything against it, but we just don't bother, really. My kids don't miss it - my one son is autistic, so he doesn't really 'get it' anyway, and my other son is shy so going up to stranger's houses makes him edgy.

My son was a Knight In Shining Armor.
We found the Armor, etc. at a dollar
store. I bought see-thru black mesh
material with silver dots on it at
Walmart and sewed the costume!
The dots kept clogging up the machine.
A bit of a hassle but VERY cute!

Does your family celebrate Halloween? ABSOLUTELY! My favorite holiday by far!!! We decorate our yard with a cemetary and tons of visuals! Fog, strobe light, floating ghosts and more.
Do you dress up? Yes, My 2 kids and I dress up when going out for treats. Of course Idress up for the fun of it! What are you going to be? I was a scary witch... very ugly one too I might add...lol
What are your kids going to be? My little girl was a princess and my son was a ninja warrior with all the battle gear! Had to have the gear!
Do you have any adorable pictures to share with us? Unfortunately, I don't have any on the computer.

Our whole familyused to go in costumeto the Harvest Festival at our church every year when the kids all lived at home. Now it's just me and my DH , so we just go and help out sans costumes. When the kids were all here then we'd go as some sort of group thing...i.e. like one year we went as cows and called ourselves the Moo-horts (our last name is Mewhort), or one time we went as crayons (each of us a different color), one year we went as our own tribe (we all wore Indian costumes), one year we were all clowns. I used to make our costumes, so I would have to start in August or the first of September. I have a lot of the pictures on my computer but I am too computer-stupid to know how to put them on here for you all to see. Sorry!

Yes, we will be celebrating Halloween again this year. Our church hosts an anuual 'Trunk-ot-Treat' event. It is a great time for the whole family...
Have you ever been to one?Basically a bunch of volunteers decorate their cars and fill the trunks with candy. Kids walk through the parking lot trick-or-treating from car to car. The car owners dress up and the cars are unbelievable. Last year someone turned their jeep into a giant spider complete with 20+ foot legs! Some people even build games into their trunks, like a ball toss into pumpkins. We also have inflatable jump houses and carnival games.
I am not sure what my wife and I will go as this year. Our little tribe (we have six kids - 10 yrs, 9 yrs, 6 yrs, 5 yrs and 4 yr twins) seem to change their mind every day. Latest has been pirates and princesses, the classic standbys. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

We celebrate- I am taking the day off as a religious holiday to meditate and listen to Freya Aswynn's CD "Songs of Yggdrasil", especially the Havamal portion where she discusses the 18 runic charms. I am Asatru, and Hubby is Pagan. I think about my ancestors who have passed over into the Summerlands- mostly Christian, so they will not be sitting with Freya or Odin in Sessrumnir or Valhalla. I cast my runes and read the message they have for me. This is the time of the year when the veil between the worlds is thinnest, and the messages are clearest.
As evening falls, Hubby will put on his "scarier every year" dragon-keeper costume and greet people at the door. Sometimes, I have to re-assure the little kids who may get scared- heck, we have had some teenagers not want to walk up our driveway. The house will be dark, and the first thing people will see is hubby's staff with the skull with glowing red eyes.
After people get their candy, and turn to leave, I wait until they are half-way down the driveway and then give one of my famous witch laughs. HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!
It's all good fun- hubby has the neighborhood reputation of "the guy who REALLY gets into Halloween". It's also a religious day- the beginning of the season called "Winternights", and the season of the Wild Hunt, when Odin calls people home. Doesn't feel much like winter here in Florida, though. smileys/smiley36.gif

My family loves Halloween! We usually do the trick-or-treating with the kids early and have an 'everyone wears costumes' party after 9pm. This year, as my kids are almost 3, I will be putting them in charge of pumpkin decorations. As far as pictures, I need to find them on one of my externals. Hopefully there will be many good photos this year.

I have dressed up in the past as a Capri Sun pouch when I was working at a preschool. I sewed my costume out of Capri Suns. I did buy a witch's hat in case I decided to dress up this year as it's my turn to trick or treat with our youngest son, and my hubby gets to stay home and pass out candy.
Our town has a Halloween block party on the next street over from us, so after we ToT, we can sit on the porch and listen to the music and not worry about the crowd. And my oldest son will dress up and scare the kids who come to ToT at our house, while my middle son will not ToT with friends and act all 'cool'.

We love Halloween. My son, who will be 20 just before Halloween is taking his girlfriend and her little sister who is 9 trick or treating this year. They've never been. Their parents aren't against it, they just didn't feel like doing it!!! My son just about fell over when he heard that.
My kids won a Halloween Costume Contest one year. Our daughter was a big box of movie popcorn and our son was a coke to go with it! If I can find the pictures I'll post them. That was my favorite Halloween even though I had blisters on my fingers from hot glueing the popcorn on her "costume".

I cried like a baby almost through the whole thing. And one guy in a nasty ugly mask wouldnt let us out unless I kissed him! I have dressed up a time or two. But, probablly won't this year. Not my favorite holiday, anyway. The children have lots of fun...and lots of candy. But, I don't really celebrate Halloween. It's just another way to celebrate my children and spend quality time with them.http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

smileys/smiley1.gif It sounds like Richelle already knows that candy is dandy but spending time with your kids is the sweetest part of Halloween.

Hi.
In our community, we have activites at the school, everyone can dress up if they wish.
That also means adults, which is alot of fun.
We have activities for the kids like bobbing for apples, throwing darts at ballons etc.
The prizes are candy, we make sure everyone gets some.
We do a comunity fun raising, for the money to buy the treats.

kids love to go out trick and treating.
I feel there costume should be something they feel good about going out in.
I always like to see for
Halloween is alot of fun for kids. I feel they should be dressed in a costune that they feel good in and also safe.
Smaller children should always have a older person with them.
Have fun
