This great idea was passed along through our group by Tracy Schwartz.
Thanks, Tracy!
One of the recomendations to get the word out about our business is to check with our local Welcome Wagon or Welcoming Committee. I gave votives and candles to a Welcome Committee in another community. That led me to wondering if my community had one.
They didn't. There was more than a need here. There was a golden
opportunity!
I approached our township's Board of Trustee's with the idea of creating one. The support was phenomenal! I was given the green light to go for it. I am doing this on a volunteer basis and have my very own Welcome Committee Mentor who has given me volumes of information on how to get started.
I noticed we had a new neighbor down the road and even though I did not have all Welcoming stuff ready, I introduced myself and gave them a candle. It was fun and it put a huge smile on their faces!
The possibilities and opporutnities this is going to bring are
mind-boggling.
If you see a need dare to stand up and be the one to fill it. Be open to the opportunities that present themselves. They show up in the most amazing and delicious ways.
Besides, I can't imagine a better business to be in than one that passes on smiles.
