Hi all,
Does anyone know of any MS companies that allow children on shops? I will have four going back to school soon but will still have 2 at home. I don't have money for a sitter. At least not yet. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.Edited by: leesac

I have been mystery shopping for several years.
To the best of my knowledge, there is not one particular company that allows children on a shop. It depends upon the company that is requesting the shop and the nature of the shop. Generally you can bring children with you on family casual dining shops, but I do not know of too many others. The reason is that they want you to provide a quality, detailed report, and sometimes children can be a distraction for you in getting details correct as well as distracting for the person serving you.
There may be instances where it is a voilation of your ICA (Independent Contractor Agreement) to take children along on shops as well, for liability issues, if someone was to get hurt while you were performing the shop.
The best advice I could give you is to apply to as many companies as you can. As soon as you get emails for shops that can be self assigned, read all of the instructions on the shop before accepting it.
Good luck.Edited by: Mom2

I have been MSing for 9 years and I agree with what MOM2 says.
I have taken my children with me on shops. There are a few that will tell you they are not allowed.

Thank you ladies! Much appreciated.
Mothermomtotwo,
If it is not against the rules, could you please PM me the specific companies that are not adverse to children on shops?
Thanks again,

I totally agree with Mom2's statement above. Apply to as many companies as possible.
When you get the assignment, you will know if you are going to be able to bring along your child/children.
How old are they? That is a big determination on whether or not you should take them.

It does completely depend upon the clients, not the companies. I have 3 under age 5 plus one on the way, so this is a challenge for me as well. Just apply, apply, apply to companies; and see what you come up with!

Mothermomtotwo et al,
Thanks so much for your advice! If you look at my sig. you'll see that the youngest 2 are 3 y.o. and 12 months. My other four are going back to school this month.
