Hi Ladies: I made my decision! I decided to join Lia Sophia. Thank you for your help and input. The following are some of the reasons that helped me in my decision. I also sent these to a new lead I rec'd from corporate (a woman who wants jewelry and is in the process of researching her options).
1. Lifetime guarantee - If a piece of jewelry breaks in 4 months or 10 years the company will replace it. If they no longer carry the piece that has broken, etc. they will issue you a gift certificate to use toward a new piece. The company has been in business for a long time - Remington Steel Razors/Lady Remington jewelry.
2. Always a customer special. Buy 2 and get 1 piece at 1/2 off. The first two can be the least expensive. Ex: Buy 2 pairs of $20 earrings and get a $100 bracelet, necklace, anything for $50 or 50% off.Monthly specials too, for example in September after this deal, you were able to purchase up to 3 necklaces valued up to $100 each for 1/2 off.
3. A wide variety of jewelry that will reach a wider group of people. We have a combination of silver AND gold - not just silver. At a recent party, two of the woman that come to mind only wear gold. One spent well over $200, the other at least $150. The prices are VERY reasonable and attainable for all. Basically you can reach a wider market with Lia Sophia.
4. After you purchase your starter kit for $99, you can purchase up to 24 pieces at 77% off. After that, you can purchase as many as you wish at 70% off, which really helps build your display kit.
At my starter show, I earned $700 in free jewelry, so it was a great start for me too!
I've been with Southern Living for 2 years now and have a good feel for the home party market and just really felt this was the better option for me to keep my business going strong. Women go nuts when there is a deal/customer special/% off! That is a very good question to ask when joining any company.
Thanks again for your help.

CONGRATULATIONS on joining lia sophia!! The reasons you listed are exactly why I joined. I love the fact that they have been around for 34 years, are family named and owned and they offer the best guarantee in the business. That should make anyone comfortable with purchasing a piece of lia sophia jewelry!! Good luck with your business and let me know if there is anything you need help with along your way. Visit the lia sophia board down further.
