My votive roses came out KEWEL!!!! smileys/smiley36.gif

I bought some nice bamboo serving trays and baskets at the Dollar Store and they just SO HAPPEN to have sticks and cups!!! Since it was the Dollar Store, I bought the whole inventory!

Not only that, I decided to go for it and ask the floral department at Safeway if they had any extra sticks and cups in the back....THEY GAVE ME 40!!!!!! I gave them samples and brochures!smileys/smiley17.gif

So I have my baskets made and individual votives wrapped in tulle and ribbon. And I also have made 6 dozen votive roses.

The votives wrapped in tulle are in a very attractive fall basket, complet with fake fall leaves and straw for lining. But now I have a question.....will the votives cross-scent? Should I separate all of them (meaning more baskets?) or will they be okay?

All this coming from someone with absolutely NO creative talent. I can't even color inside the lines in my kids coloring book. Ha!

Way to go!!smileys/smiley32.gif Isn't it fun?? I loved making the votive roses too, and it wasa hot seller at my booth! I would say you can keep different votives together but separate the fruits/spices from the florals if you can. I will have to check the dollar store for cups and sticks. How much were they?

Ooops! Let me clarify. The sticks and cups at the dollar store came in a kit with 8 balloons. It's a kit to make the kiddies balloons for birthday parties and such.

They were only a dollar! I bougt 25. They had 30 in their inventory and out of guilt..I left them 5! But hey...8X25 is 200!!!!

Plus the 40 from Safeway for free! Yipeee. There's an arts and crafts Fair just 1/2 a block from my place, (Santa Clara Fairgrounds) this weekend and I hope the roses will sell like crazy!

From past experiences I have had, yes the scents will mix. I had texas cedarwood in with various other scents and that one wreaked them all. It gave the other ones a weird smell. From now on I am very careful to keep all my votives separate so that my customers get the true scent their looking for. JMO..........

I got 100 cups and sticks from www.consultantcorner.com (http://www.consultantcorner.com) and it was only $10. I think it is a great deal.
