What kinds of theme shows do you offer?
With Pampered Chef it's always about food! LOL
With BYB I'm starting to think of new ideas.

But Nicole, when you do a Pampered Chef show you could still do a theme
right? Italian night, Mexican night, Monday Night Football,
World Series party, Holiday Cookies night, Desserts only night,
that 's what I used to do when I was in PC. I would let the
hostess choose the theme but I would provide the ingredients and fun!
It made PC even more fun!

With Jafra it is always about pampering but sometimes I still do themes
like tropical paradise, spa for 2, teen/mom night, and stuff like
that just to make it more interesting and fun!

Of course I do PC theme shows just they revolve
around food. Leftovers Redone, Amazing Sides,
Chocolate Chocolate, Chocolate.. the list goes on!

themes are always fun but I'm looking to do
something totally new!

I would be interested in how you did the Top ten, Price is Right or the survivor as next week I have a repeat hostess and Im sure she will have some of the same people. This is the first time this has happened for me. Thanks for your help. Stacia

P.S. I sell southern living at home.

I don't do theme parties, but ones I have heard of that might work with just about any product are:

Banana Split Party - where the host buys the ice cream all the yummy fixings, tells her guest to bring a banana (but doesn't tell them why) and has a surprise banana split making contest. They can do this at a break during the presentation and then snack for the rest of your presentation.

Recipe Swap or Cookie Exchange, where everyone makes something (such as cookies). This what they all snack on, and they can exchange recipes with one another.

Build your own Nachos - I heard of a hostess once who assigned each of her guests an ingredient that could be used to make nachos. Each person really felt obligated not only to come, but to arrive on time, so they could all make the nachos.

Price is Right

-------------

Have guests "bid" on one of your items..closest without going over gets to come on up and play a pricing game. Such as...

lay out 6 products with the target price of $20, they must pick out the
2 items that are $20 or less. (Have premade little cards that show the
actual price....like on the show). If correct they get a
ticket.

Other games...

More bidding throughout party,

Play the Bigger Bargain game. Pick two more expensive items and
make a price tag for them well below actual value. Player must
determine which one is the Bigger Bargain. Gets a ticket if
correct

Etc Etc...

For the final showcase showdown, have the 2 guests who have earned the
most tickets be the participants...put together maybe a grouping of
hostess only items and have them each bid on what the retail price
is. Whoever is closest wins a small prize (candle, food mix
sample, etc).

Then you talk about the retail value of hostess items but how you can actually get them for FREE...yada yada yada.smileys/smiley2.gif

Top Ten Theme Show:

Is great for repeat guests who know lots of the products....pick 10
(any ten....I would try to do a variety of prices/items....like one
framed picture, a pottery piece, a floral piece, something $10 or less,
etc)

Then those are the ONLY 10 products you talk about during your presentation.

Of course you will want to have others on display, but just focus on
the "Ten Most Wanted" and it will help keep your show brief.

You could even do a "jail" theme since its Ten Most Wanted.. and have
wanted posters hung up, where black and white stripes....play some
kindof game where guests can earn a "get out of jail free" card from
Monopoly and at the end of the presentation, whoever is left with the
Jail Free card gets a small prize.smileys/smiley32.gif

Survivor Theme:

I'm not sure how this will work with your products, but here is how it went when I did Longaberger:

Have 6-8 "How to survive....."

How to Survive....moving to a new neighborhood. The address
basket is perfect for organizing all your old friends information and
has room for you to add NEW friends!

How to survive....having a baby! The Market Basket is the ideal
size to use as a diaper stacker. The swinging handles give it
extra versatility and it even fits between the front two seats of a
mini van or SUV!

How to survive....unexpected company. The pie plate adds elegance
to a pie even if you bake it right out of the freezer! Plus, its
vitrified pottery which makes clean up a breezesmileys/smiley1.gif

How to survive starting a new job...you need the Pen Pal basket and
Large Desktop! They will make your desk/work area beautiful and
functional...

Anyway, you get the idea. smileys/smiley2.gif

For this I wore camo clothes when I did the presentation. Guests loved it!smileys/smiley36.gif

For BYB

How about a Preschool Show--where youfocus on itmes for 2-4 yr olds, and you could offer a School Aged show.

You could do an "After School Activities" show....and talk about
products that could be made in 30 minutes or so as a special After
school mom/child time.

How about doing birthday parties...parent covers cost for each kid to make an item.

Also, you could do a Mommy and Me show, they all get to make a little
something. Since you are a sister co of Crayola, you could give
them all a little party favor..box of crayons (you can get small boxes
very cheaply). :)

Thanks for sharing your games Tammy! I found this one at

http://www.homepartyplannetwork.com/homepartygames/thepricei (http://www.homepartyplannetwork.com/homepartygames/thepriceisright.htm) sright.htm

The Price Is Right Game
This game offers an alternative and fun way to describe some of your products.
First, choose products you want to highlight. You’ll need 1 for the first “item up for bid;” 3 for the first “pricing game;” 1 for the 2nd item up for bid; 1 for the 2nd pricing game; 1 for the 3rd item up for bid; and one for the 3rd game.
In between games 1 and 2 will be a “Commercial Break” and in between games 2 and 3 will be a “commercial break.”
Ask for 3 volunteers to bid on the first item. Give each a ticket (I use tickets and draw one winner at the end of the show; others use auction dollars) for volunteering. Describe your first item. Ask each to guess the actual price without going over. The closest wins. Award one ticket for winning; 2 tickets for exact price guess. The winner plays the first pricing game. This game is “Which two?” or “Same Price.” Describe 3 items—two of which have the exact same price—and ask the player to guess which two are priced exactly the same. Award one ticket for an incorrect guess and two tickets for a correct guess.
1st commercial break—guests ask you questions about your hostess program. Award a ticket for each question.
2nd item up for bid—if enough guests, ask for 3 new volunteers. If not enough guests, replace the winner from game 1 with a new contestant. Describe your next item. Winner plays the 2nd pricing game—“More than or Less than.” Describe one of your items and state an incorrect price for that item. Ask the player if the actual price is “more than or less than” the amount you stated. Award one ticket for incorrect answer and two tickets for correct answer.
2nd commercial break—guests ask you questions about your business opportunity. Award a ticket for each question.
3rd item up for bid—repeat #2 process. 3rd pricing game—“higher or lower.” Describe an item and have the player guess the price. You then tell her if the actual price is higher or lower than her guess. Keep doing this until she gets it right (it’s the “clock game” on the tv show). Award two tickets for getting right price.
I don’t do a 3rd commercial, but you could with a general question session or whatever you want to cover.

I sell candles and here are the current theme shows I'm offering:

Chocoholics Night Out

Auction Party

Game Show Night

Pajama Party

TP (toilet paper) party

Luncheon/Brunch party

I've done all of them and each is fun although my favorite it the auction. It costs me a lille more, but so worth it!

Oh yeah I forgot Lisa...I have done an Auction Party too.

Also have done Mystery Hostess.

Lisa, could you describe the Toilet Paper party??

LisaS
10-12-2005, 01:28 PM
For the toilet paper party I have everyone bring a roll of TP. I put that on the invitations. Then I give little packs of matches for people that bring rolls in their wrappers, the cheapest brand (and I use that as a recruiting bid as they're "obviously" money concious), colored, etc. You can make up whatever you want to do there. Then I start by talking about using candles in your bathroom and more than just candles but our holders and decor items too then move to the rest of the house (kind of like how we'd move from room to room through the day). I'm actually doing that show tonight. Oh I forgot. I have everyone pass in their tp and whoever wins the door prize gets it all. If there's a lot of people there then I have 2 prizes. You have to do it with the right group or it's not as much fun. It's supposed to be funny but not everyone will "get it".
