I think that salary.com provides a great baseline for salaries, but we have to remember that in many instances companies assign different roles/responsibilities for each title. Two people in different companies may have the same exact title and it may very well mean two different things. One may have way more responsibility than the other. I think that makes it very difficult to truely determine someone's worth based on their title. It's great that the site provides the 25th percentile, median & 75th percentile. I guess we should start worrying if we are receiving pay that is way below the median or even lower than the 25th percentile.

I offer a challenge: for anyone out there that is willing.
Would you be interested in setting that dollar amount out in front of you as an "intention" sort of out of the law of attraction ie the Secret...
only the serious should do it...put that number on a vision board... get it in front of you and begin to visualize your life really earning that magic number.
Just a thought!

I did that for 3 months for 1 million dollars and it did not work for me :< Maybe I did not do it right... like the hungry kids in Africa. Sorry for my sarcasm, but I was angry when it did not work for me and I don't believe that it can be that easy.
I hope I don't offend anyone by being blunt.

To Cyn82 -
I think the problem with your goal setting is that you put the bar too high!
smileys/smiley1.gif
According to "Ask and It Is Given" by Esther & Jerry Hicks (the Real book behind The Secret), when you set a goal it has to be believable to your current self in order to be manifested.
If you set a goal so high that you think it can't be achieved ... then, guess what ... you can't achieve it!
Most of us who don't make multiple 6 figure incomes can't really conceive of making 1 MILLION dollars!
Instead, post a figure that your mind can wrap around ... like twice what your currently yearly salary is ... or $150,000 ... or anything else that seems *doable* to your mind *right now*!
Then, when that is achieved ... stretch your mind further for the next goal!
And, go out and get that book! (and no, I'm not affiliated with them!) smileys/smiley36.gif

I've never read The Secret but that makes sense about how your mind would refuse to accept something way way high like that, if you've never been near it (and don't personally know anybody who has).

http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gifThank you so much for this opportunity to learn forums. This old gal has some pretty old fashioned leanings (where's that quill?).
Until this time in my life I never was interested in dollars. I was a professional student. Looking at the salaries reminds me of the anacronym J.O.B: "Just Over Broke".
God gave me the wit to keep my home for 25 years and I have converted it into a bed and breakfast. As I was setting it up, I discovered healthy coffee and the food supplement capsules.
It turned my health around.
So, I find the salaries listed causing me to wax philosophical as "salary" and I never mixed well:
The love and integrity of our intentions are the true value of our lives, not the price tag of a salary.
God bless as you go forth in health and wealth with pure intention!Edited by: Janet A

Just found this thread... cool link.
I came up being worth $185,652.
Now... it will be one mighty cold day in hell before I would ever find an employer that I would be happy with that would also kick that kind of compensation....
So glad I work for myself..... at least these kind of numbers are possible when we are in the right thing!

A persons worth is often meassured by how well loved they are by others.
Monetary worth is very rarely a good yard stick to measure an individuals worth to their family, friends and others whom they touch in this life.
If you help enough people get what they want, you will get what you want.
We love helping people to succeed.

I will never trade my time for money again... especially after I see this!
People are getting ripped off everyday!
What a shame companies don't pay people what they're worth these days.

-then there's net worth, which I doubt anyone will brag about here. That usually considers value of house minus what is owed, plus cost of furniture, cars, bank accounts etc.
Most entrepreneurs value it more by viability of program and how much people need it. For my signature file : all could use help with marketing and making bigger first impressions on people. The $9.97 program will do wonders!

Hi,
I'm new & an Aussie, so I may be out of sync with the general idea...I hope not, because it is a great topic.
Someone just told me if anyone wants more, start with the extra $100 a week/month goal & add value to your job, boss/etc etc & go from there.
It must be understood too, when you ask big, you may receive notice to leave your job!
Some have & have been devastated, because they didn't take advantage & see the universe working for them to propel them higher into a better paid job, not just more income where they were!

Hi gjenkins,
Yes, home businesses can & do get people there.
The big thing that is not understood well though, one does have a massive learning curve to conquer at first!
I'd say though, if you are adept at maneuvering these types of forums & the likes of My Space, U-tube, Face Book & blogs, you are 80% there!
Biz is all about promotion of goods or services. Commerce depends on it. So a home biz op is business conducted from home.
Easier only because of the no travel factor, choose own hours etc. But time & a lot of effort at first is still required.
If you do understand that at first & don't succumb to all the hype of a free lunch, you will do well with a good program, mentor & training!
I'm putting my money where my mouth is & testing this for myself & friends of mine who want to earn extra money to buy a home.
I'm a newbie to the net in May of this year, knowing ZILCH, so....I'm scared, but I will do it & I truly believe I will succeed.
If you don't mind me saying this, I am writing a daily journal of my journey, so people, especially mums who want to stay home (or have to) can... by finding out how to earn extra money from home & they can follow my journey daily on the blog! <a href="http://www.marymclean.blogspot.com" target="_blank">www.marymclean.blogspot.com

To get to that in Internet marketing, one needs to put out effective marketing. Mine helps and tells you an approach, I get lots of email leads with veretekk, but need live phone #s to call. Currently using Traffic Swarm (for website signups) and several social networking sites.
Know anything else for free? e.g. FAST?

Hi JG,
The Viral things as you say, are awesome.
I joined for free & have received all my info on learning the net from there.
I get about 50 E-mails a day from Viral URL, mostly from free members & read every one, press all the blue lines & have learned so much from them.
I appreciate the free part of the membership & I will be paying to upgrade when I earn some money later on.
The talk around the traps is that Viral URL is one of the most responsive free traffic exchanges out there!

You have interesting overall life view.
I do find that helping with the political and church activities I like to cuts down on the time I can put into business.
Since I haven't turned it around yet, I maybe should spend more time promoting, but seem to be dabbling.
If once you have leads, you also could use help bringing them in, check out http://www.WowMewithHelp.com

This was one of the most valuable things i learned when I started in networking. You have to believe in yourself before others will believe in you. We are constantly growing and developing ourselves as we achieve success.Whether it is from tapes and books or personal experiences we can't help but to grow as long as we engage and believe.

I'm realy surprised at the # of people who feel their not being paid for what they're worth. It's not actually that part of it becauseeveryone feels at somepoint that they're underpaid. What I am surprisedat are the # of folks whoseem to be sitting and stewing about it instead of actually doing something about it. Com'on people get with it! If you really want to create a substantial income then you need to learn a few things. 1) Work on yourself! If you don't believe in yourself then others won't either. 2)You must learn to work smarter, not harder. Re. Browning tips :
How do you spend so much time out of house and accomplish ad promotion, forums and blogs at same time -- and have a life?? Time sort of runs out.
Boredom after rejection or just trying to get back to the ad site emails --

There's a price to pay...each time.
Put it off to-day, don't get it done,
Do it to-morrow, to-day is for fun,
Do this a life time through & you will find your dreams are haunting you...
When eyes grow dim & energies wane, you'll say this over & over again,
I wish those days I'd got it done & had these to-morrows just for fun!
Everything has a price, trouble is, mostly we can't figure out what it is or how to pay it, even though most times, most would be willing to do so...if only they knew.

I think we are all paid exactly what we should be... Those who want more will look for ways to make it. Those who don't will stay where they are at.
We can't complain about things we can't control... But we can control how much income we produce.
If we do what most people are doing, we'll get what most people have got, because nothing changes if nothing changes...

Thanks Milifestyle, I believe you understand. gjenkins on the other hand dosen't. Let me elaborate. We all have 24 hours in a day. What we choose to do with them is where it counts. When I say out of the house, that can mean different things. Do you go to the grocery store or the bank what about to a mall or restaurant. They all have one thing in common. They all have people around waiting for someone to say hi and start a conversation. I don't, mean unless you want to, go beating on doors. Which works by the way if you do it correctly. milifestyle above hits it exactly quote "Those who want more will look for ways to to make more". As Michael S. Clous puts it "you can't make time for anything, you have to find time for the things you want.
As for my life, I have a great life thankyou.
The comment about boredom after rejection thing is maybe a little bit catty I'm surprised it was posted. If you would like to talk personallymaybe we can pick each others brains and come up withsome ideas to assist both of us. Send me a PM

Have you found better times of day to be in public?

Go with the flow... If you try to perfect it you'll be "fake" at it.
We all go out somewhere, sometime... If you find yourself talking to someone, lean the conversation towards, brooms, dog collars, orange juice or rabbits [insert what you sell here].
Live life and make the most of opportunities as they front themselves.
Unfortunately, most people trying to catch the "Big Fish" spend more time working out "how" to do it and forget to put their line in the water.

Exactly Eric, just go with flow and be available to step outside the box when needed.
gjenkins-I do find people are more excitable in dept stores, clothing stores etc as apposed to grocery stores. I think thats because they're about to check out with something new and fun. ( New clothes, electronics ) so they're mood is already up and they are more willing to engage. Plus they're new toy is a great way to start the conversation. As for priortization, if online isn't working for you than maybe it's time to repriortize what methods you use to atract more customers to your unique business. You CAN do it, I know you have it in you! Make it fun. Though the internet is cool you will never replace meeting people face to face. Seeing their excitment as you share your products and opportunity with them is a reward in itself.

Something to take advantage of if your lead isn't intrested in what you are offering, is to ask if they might knowtwo people who may be intrested and get the referals.

I'm not a fan of that method. (I know those who call themselves "guru" promote it).
Most people who have rejected your offer will give you names of people they either know won't be interested or names of people they don't like http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif.
Think about it... They have said NO to your offer [Negative].
However, You can use simple techniques during Pre-qualifying questions to find out if the person knows anyone interested in "Organics" [insert your product here].
Some people you will want to invite into your product/opportunity others you will want to gain leads from... they don't have to be both.
For example, a mate of mine owns a garden supplies business and because my day job is as an Organic Horticultural Consultant/Gardener I often strike up a conversation with him about his patrons... especially those interested in organic products. I've never invited him into my Organic Products business because he's in another MLM company, however, in talking to him i have developed several leads from people who have become direct customers, Pref. Customers & Business Associates.

Georgia- One thing I have learned since being in this industry is that you will need to step outside of your comfort zone and in doing so you will grow yourself as a person and your confidence level will rise. Put your faith in God as He will not let you fall. YOU can do it, I truly believe in you, that you are a great person and you deserve to achieve your goals!

For those nice words...You made my day!
My sister is very ill in hospital, with liver failure & I was on the phone to her 1 hr ago, when her specialist turned up & I heard him say to her..."you're for the chopping block to-morrow", so I hung up to call her back in 30 mins or so...now I can't raise her.
She's a couple of hundred miles away!
So, I'm sitting here, "sort of panicking" & lo & behold...you say something edifying to lift my spirits!
Thank you again

Thanks again Browning, my sister is in the op theater again to-day.
smileys/smiley36.gifHad to have a giggle at the remarks docs make ...esp in theater...I was a surgical nurse & boy, we heard some great expressions over the years!
Tank's empty, Ken...one Doc to another & so on!
Fun, remembering.
But, back to the thread...one Xmas Day, we worked on a young 14 yr old girl who received a horse for Xmas & went on a ride & it rolled on her about 12md. She was rushed to hospital & we worked on a depressed fracture of her skull for 14 hrs straight. No breaks, no drinks or anything, (it was around 1963 ish) & eventually her heart stopped & the docs performed open heart massage, got it going again, stitched her up & it stopped again...4 times they did this, & after 2 hours of this, one Doc said,"How many times do we do this"? , The other doc said "as long as it takes, every life is valuable"...after 3 more tries, paddles to the heart, stitching her up, heart stopping after 20-30 mins, opening her up again, getting her heart going again, heart stopping again etc, they had to let her go...It was an amazing lesson for me of just how much we truly are worth!

Sorry, I'm going to rant but this is a pet peeve of mine.
Nobody is really worth anything unless they're willing to earn it.
I have a friend who keeps telling me she's worth over $100K / year since once, when she worked full time as in advertising sales, she made that much. She then quit because she didn't want to stress and work like a slave. But she still approaches each opportunity and job with a snooty: "I'm worth $100K/year" attitude.
Just a thought

Just reminded me about the old lady in a millionaire seminar...she said..."OK laddie, don't tell me how hard it is to make the first million dollars...you said the 2nd million was heaps easier...just point me to that one instead!"
Yup, we have to become the person who can manage & care for the amount we think we are worth first, then it's a fore gone conclusion!
By the way, for all those dear people praying for my sister with liver failure...very interesting, she has blood toxicity obviously & her brain & other organs are suffering the poisons...but they gave her this small spoon of "Goop" a syrup & it binds all the toxins in her bowel from the blood supply there & voila...she is recovering slowly! A miracle clear syrup for sure. I'm totally in awe...a couple of teaspoons 4 times a day...unreal...amazing...a real miracle.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

Hi all,
I've been away a while, moving house, office, setting up closer to my sister's home area for when she comes home again & helping my daughter sell her home & move too, plus traveling to & from the hospital every 2nd day to be with my sis!
She is still on the "Magic Goop"as we call it & is mentally progressing well. She's walking & talking about 90% OK.
Now, let me share with you, this time of thanksgiving, something very special regarding what we think we are worth.
A friend "is an angel specialist" and offered to send an angel to talk with my sick sisters higher self...now even this, was at the time, a bit "out there" even for broadminded me!
However, she did so & my sister said to the angel, that she didn't know she had a choice to get better or "go".
When I visited her the next day, (this was when she was just coming out of a coma last month), she mumbled to me, the EXACT words my friend told me she said to the angel!!!!
Now, that got my attention & I said to her...bearing in mind the topic of this thread, "How much do you reckon you are worth, are you going to fight for life?" her son said the same to her & now she's still with us & is baffling the medicos, as they don't know what's going on with her liver illness!
So, while we think of how much money we think we should be paid based on the value of our contribution where we work, we also must value ourselves to the degree that we know our contribution is valuable & we can only do that as we contribute. Most people need people, this is how we are made.
So, forums like this are extremely beneficial in building communities of people who value each other.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Mary, As a former nurse, who now is using Xango and healthier coffee ( Mangosteen and ganoderma lucidum) I'm curious as to what the "magic goo" is.
Also, I've heard of a lot of people getting better when they have a strong enough will to live.
--Blessings --Georgia
P.S. I haven't been on for awhile - after "organizing" my inbox

Hi Georgia,
The "Poop Goop" as we now call it is a mix of 3 "oses" Dextrose?, etc etc. I'm not sure exactly what it's called, "Lactulose"??? Anyway, it's a combo syrup & it binds the protein in the bowel that would normally be absorbed & sent to the liver via the Hepatic vein for processing. It sure seems to have worked, as she now has 30% liver function!
It's a clear straw coloured syrup & she has to take it 4 times a day. Just about 3 teaspoons & it obviously sends EVERYTHING straight thru her, but it's given the liver time to rest & begin functioning again.
They can't believe she's made such a recovery & even one doctor called the Royal, where she'd been for 5 weeks & demanded to know "what's the #$%$#@@$# (utter rubbish, my nice translation) on the patients chart?"...only to be told it was her & she was recovering & yes, they are all dumfounded too!
Nice Xmas present, isn't it?smileys/smiley32.gif
Thanks Georgia,
All the best for Xmas & New year,
Mary

lactulose is used to "enhance the excretion of ammonia 9 from protein0 in the treatment of portosystemic encephalopathy" ( liver caused retn. of toxins in brain -- inflammatory illness)- a great product. I thought it was what was used to help in milk digestion. = 2 other sugar related compounds - - - amazing!!
also what you can find inSaunders "Encyclopedia of medicine, Nursing - - -"!

It's amazing that this goop binds the ammonia/protein digestion & helps remove the toxic build up!
The absolute knockout tho' is that it's so clear, is a syrup & the dose is so small & it does such an enormous job!
I am still amazed at the impact it's had on my sis.
Apparently only 2 out of 10 people with this condition survive & the ones who do don't have a very good prognosis.
She's being discharged next week & I have to find a house near the hospital for a few months as her son is moving too!
None of us expected such a miraculous recovery & it's caught us all preparing for an invalid after Xmas, when she's almost "good as new" mentally, but has the cortisone "moon face" & is ready for discharge now!
Best regards to all & thank you all for your interest & concern.
It's been nice to pop back here & feel a friendly finger type a response now & then!
Love to all,

Thanks work at home mom 24,
The actual syrup is called Lactulose.
It's not very expensive, but...what is my sister's life worth?...or anyone's for that matter.
PS.
We were a bit rude, calling it "Poop Goop", as it made her go to the loo about 10 times a day!
But, it keeps her alive, simple, effective & almost miraculous!
She's as good as her old self almost, a bit weak, but gaining strength daily.
Happy New Year to all,
Kindest Regards,
Mary smileys/smiley4.gif

Update on what you are worth.
To all...Happy New Year, it's Feb 1 to-morrow(Australia) Oh dear!
My sis is fine...personality change...very positive & a bit Gung Ho!...But hey, she's alive & gaining strength daily.
I received a sudden boost to my worth the other day.
I decided to "conquer" the offline world with my very new(under 12 months) experience & lo & behold, it seems I'm worth (to small biz) at least ...wait for it...$1,000 an hour for the info I have that they don't know exists.
C'mon Mums, you have amazing knowledge of the online world, that you could share with off line biz, to help them out through this hard economic time & be well paid for it!

Well about $20-30 a month, plus a squeeze page...(I know most of you can put one up) & presto....you're away!
How about then charging $497 to put audio or video on their blog that you create for them?
Say they had a hairdresser shop...You could video new styles each month for their blog/YouTube channel & even upload a free PDF for them on "Does Your Hair Make You Fat?"...Get Your 7 Free weight loss tips.etc(Hair styles that make you look slimmer!)
Heaps of good stuff you all can do!

May be ancient history, as I haven't been on for awhile. but I sort of like vonne22 statement about goals. In network marketing, Its hard to know when the messages will start building responses.
Perhaps we can't say what we're worth-- just how many x's we sent in a day or time spent doing something.
Also hadn't noted Kevin's signature file before. To him -- please get on weekly calls -- you'll find an interesting bent to attraction marketing.
Not sure how to change my sig. or would to my name.

That is very interesting. Many people underestimate the monetary value of their time more again overestimate it. I have a feeling that the balance is moving towards the former in todays economy.
For those working at home without the office hierarchy it is important to have a realistic idea of value. This also applies to moms that work in the home in the home in the more traditional way

This is true. We should always look at the Little things we do as time spent on a business. If we were at a "job" we'd be getting paid for those little things, working at or from home should be no different.

This is interesting, how perspectives change from day to day, as we respond/react to events in our life.
The above comment from Eric made me think about the time I devote to non income generating activities daily, when I jolly well know I should be more productive elsewhere!
Why do we "puddle around" doing meaningless things when we know we could be doing more meaningful & productive tasks?
Fun & pleasure are one of the answers, but surely, my future is worth more than a few mins of fleeting fun, even though the fun is burdened with..."hey, you should be finishing your course, or, your list, or..."
Thanks for the reminder, I am worth more than an undisciplined romp around the internet, being kidnapped by all that interesting stuff that hasn't created anything for my future yet!

I would have to agree with some of the previous posts. I think that any web based salary program is just a base-line for standard playing field. In order to decide what a person is worth paying you must interview them first. I think you can create a beautiful resume and have plenty of experience but may be missing some key requirements for that job. But, this is a good start

It's a real shame when you believe in someone & they don't value themselves enough to have a go at what seems to be their gift area for life.
Anyone any ideas on how to encourage the uncovering/action of an obvious gift/talent in someone close & it's something they love & know they are good at...but won't try?????

Hi Gals,
It's been a long time, but now I figure I'm worth heaps!
If you work or don't work, you have already placed a value on yourself by accepting what you're doing as "payment" in kind or other.
So...big revelation!
Change your wants/desires (without guilt) & aim higher!
I just finished watching James Arthur Ray deliver a mind blowing fact.
He said... Our thoughts go through a "thing" that determines the feeling we have, which is visceral & it's that feeling we get that draws our stuff to us!
Butterflies of excitement & anticipation or the gut wrenching feeling of doom or despair etc.
The thing our thoughts go through is...our emotion, (our energizer towards motion) which flavours the feeling in our viscera (gut) & lets us know how we feel!
Fear, revenge, love, etc.
Wow!
How good is this info? Now, when a feeling of low worth comes "over" you, check the emotional trigger/filter the first thought went through to produce the feeling you feel.
Regards,
Mary

Good Day Mary.
Is James Arthur Ray from the Secret? I believe he is if I'm not mistaken.
I do believe this concept just not sure how it works. What I mean by this is I've seen so many people become victims of their circumstance and they didn't even ask for it. Does this mean they were thinking bad thoughts? Or is this the work of a mass of bad thoughts from others around the world? For example a starving child or an elderly person who has a really bad fall. Does this mean that these particular people brought these circumstances on themselves? Or is it the result of other's negative thoughts, feelings or actions?
I really enjoyed watching the Secret. Doesanyone know if the book is exactly the same as the movie or is there different information in it? I was thinking of reading it. Any other fans of the Secret out there?
Keep well everyonehttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

Hi Lisa,
I have the book too & it's just a keepsake as far as I'm concerned.
I have the DVD "The Secret" with Esther Hicks & a bunch of behind the scenes stuff on it. I found it somewhere someone tossed out. Anyway, James Arthur Ray is on that DVD. I go thru it day by day, with subtitles on, so I can also see what exactly they are saying & write it out bit by bit, because as you grow, everything takes on a different meaning, almost daily. I play it at least 2 or 3 times every day for months now & my life is becoming truely miraculous!
What I've found is say on a scale of 0-100 with 50 being the middle, say feelings vibrate in this 0-100 zone, with 0-50 being negative(bad in our judgments) & 51-100 being good (in our judgments)
When we pass a thought thru an emotion , say fear, hate, revenge, guilt, etc...all negative emotions & feel that visceral twist in our insides, that is also pure negative creation in process. Now whatever is floating around in the 0-50 negative zone of vibration clutches onto, (is attracted to) the vibration put out from that person. It could be a car accident, an attack, a robbery or any other stuff that is perceived as "bad". Not that the person put out that stuff, it's just that that stuff answers the vibrational match.
That's how I see the mechanics of it. We have absolute control over the length of time we allow our minds to dwell on a random thought we pick up & consciously we must input whatsoever things are "good, pure, virtuous, praiseworthy & think on these things"
As far as the poor in other countries, as Esther Hicks says on the DVD, that is not our job.
John Demartini, on another DVD says "Our job is to take random floating matter & turn it into things which will inspire us. Of couse there's more he says but it means; we can influence things to inspire us & motivate us with the results & then we can go & take our manifestations(money, help, medical care etc) to the poor.
That's my interpretation of it all, if that helps!
Thanks & blessings,
Mary

Hi All,
I am new here, do not know how I managed to miss this site all of this time. This is the first topic that I landed in, and I thought that I would chime in with some thoughts about the subject. I did not check out what I am worth given the many things that I do. What I find to be payment about being a WAHM is being able to wake up with my two year old and have breakfast with him. I then get a cup of coffee and my computer and sit at the dining room table and workwhile he plays or watches sesame street. That is priceless to me.
The other thing that is priceless to me is being able to choose how to work, and when to work. A lot of my work is online, but I also practice organic gardening, canning, and all of that. Sell items at the local farmer's market, and pursue my online opportunities whenever I want to. Less stress is also something that I would not trade. Right now, I am loving everything about what I am doing.
I almost forgot to mention howmuch I love to wear pajama pants while I am making money. =)

I just went back to page 1 of this thread & found a comment about a goal someone put out "that after 3 months, it didn't work" for them.
The goal was that they thought they were worth a million dollars.
Fair enough...but the price to pay for that will be a very valuable amount of information to exchange.
Nothing comes from nothing.
You can call into being out of nothing, that which does not (now seemingly) exist (for you) over that which does exist in your reality.
Every action has an equal & opposite reaction.
So, the price to pay would be the exchange of some kind of goods or service to the price of 1mil$
If you can believe the goods or services you offer are worth that, the Million dollars has a way of turning up AFTER delivery from you first.
It seems it is activated by belief that you are worth the amount, it is believable to you & that you continually only & always see the end result.
It is simple but so hidden from us because of our doubt & fear filters we judge everything by & don't realize we do that!
It's just happened for me to the tune of around $400,000 in value to me, as I clear the deck to begin my new life...after empty nest syndrome!
It's a bit scary, but SO exciting as I design my new aware life.
It's taken about a year for the old habits & things I attracted to me by my past thoughts & habits, to complete their appearances on my doorstep.
Gradually, they are being replaced by new & exciting appearances in every area of my life & I'm continually appreciative of this great Law.
This is the Law of Attraction, (the creative principle, for which we are commanded to go out & do the same as the original Creator).
No one disputes the Law of Gravity, The Law of Good Health etc.
Let us embrace this awesome Law & learn how to use it to bring forth material goods so we can go out & use it in the pursuit of good works & spiritual enlightenment.
Regards,
Mary

Mary

I like this tool. The key, I have found, is to make sure that I am more focused on providing at least $3 per hour of value for every $1 per hour that I am earning. If I am providing that much value, my increases/bonuses will follow. I can truthfully say that this has been the case for me.
I wrote about this in a roundabout way here (http://homesprosperity.blogspot.com/2009/05/are-you-committing-these-3-mistakes-to.html)

I agree with Vonne22 - you must believe before you can achieve or receive. I do believe in setting high goals and setting a clear path of action to reaching them. I think you set yourself up for success with a succession of goals - so for instance as it relates to salary - $150K, then $200K, then $250K, etc. Also, you can refine your goals along the way. This keeps the goals achievable and alive! goals should not be stagnant.

Agreed, a succession is great, but make them very realistic and attainable inthe beginning, so you can get used to hitting and exceeding your goals, then start making them a stretch and really go for it. Good luck

SBorg,
In reply to your statement above re adding value to your service;
One of the gurus who nicely let me see his $275 month newsletter, actually said to 5-10 times the value add!
"Stacking the Cool" he states.
Now that may only apply to internet markets where you have digital products, but still, it's worthy of note & a nice thought by him.

Mary

What are you worth?
Really...?
Who/what is it you want to be?
What impression do you want to portray?
What legacy do you want to leave?
We are so conditioned by our fears, our laziness, our comfort zones, we fail to achieve the one thing we have been put on earth to do...
That is; To capture random circulating matter & build & shape it into things that will please us & inspire us, so much so that we will be inspired to go out & enthuse, inspire & empower others to claim their magnificent life.
It all awaits us.
That's what you are worth.

What do you mean Primus 1?
To-day I'm thankful for the fact I'm really beginning to comprehend the internet & it's enormous potential.
I understood the potential before, but was overwhelmed with info overload. Now that I have sorted out my passion & set out a plan to achieve my goals, I'm one happy chappy!
I could stay at the keyboard here all day!
It's awesome.

My husband lost his income.. a year ago yesterday. A year ago, today, I have been out in the working world after having been home for 5 years with two little ones. It is a huge eye opener as to the expectations of a sales job vs. the income level. Unless you are working 6 days a week, 12 to 14 hours a day, you arent going to make decent money. .at least I am not. I had a sales job just as described with days and hours and made roughly $17K in 3 months.. commissions only.. however, at what cost? I was never home to see my children until they were already in bed for the night. I was also coming home and having to clean the house. I basically was getting burned out big time after about 4 months...
I then went and applied for another sales position that guaranteed $400 after I did 15 demonstrations.. the demonstrations included lugging around a 40lb box and a side kick box to sell vaccuums.. Sure the vacuum weight all of 14 lbs.. but in the box with all the other stuff, it definitely became an issue... especially since I was expected to do a 2 hour cleaning which included sanitizing mattresses.
I tried like heck to avoid places with lots of steps.. but it was unavoidable.. I couldnt wait to get my 15 demos over with so I could get paid the $400.
Towards the end of the demo count, I was called to do a sales position for a printing company. All was going well.. In fact, I have been there 7 months already - however, there was a sales meeting called just a few weeks ago.. now, normally that seems pretty okay with most companies.. however, I was their ONLY sales person. It seems that they wanted me to sell more than what I was producing. In other words, they want me to sell $8K a month in printing and/or copy jobs.
I mentioned that this economy has been very rough on people and was quickly told that they were not hearing that because their business is busy. I dont know, but if someone orders business cards and it comes to $40.. how many do I have to sell to get up to 8 grand a month? Luckily for me, the company sells more than just business cards.. now, if I can only get some bigger sales orders. Lord give me strength..I am getting reimbursed about $80 a month for gas.. yet, I spend anywhere from $60 to $80 a week! all for the whopping $10 an hour job.
There has to be a better way. I was told to visit the WAHM forum.. because, well, even though I have been forced into taking a regular job, I still work at home at night to try and earn money. Just wanted to know if anyone else reading this forum and thread has any suggestions. Most of what I am finding costs way more than I can afford, and the way things are now, I am just hoping and praying that my product invention will eventually take off and the lifestyle I have now will be history.

As I stumbled on this particular post today about scholarships for school from elearner, thats when I took the opportunity to get a worth from salary.com.
According to the calculations I am worth locally $169,408 a year! not bad and this doesn't include other skills and talents I actually have.;)

Thanks. My son loves to work with connecting computer hardware components and installing operating systems. He is thinking of going back to college to get a bachelor degree in computer networking. The salary for this job certainly encourages him to go through the college classes. :)
