I kind of remember hearing somewhere that our make up brushes were made by Bobbi Brown... is this true?

Also, is there no way for a guest to order the make up brushes? They're only sold as a sales aid? or am I missing something? lol

I was told too that they were designed by Bobbi Brown.
They are only available as a sales aid.
And i thought that they are supposed to be worth like $30-$50.
If someone is interested in them, maybe they could host a show and instead of free product offer them the brushes if they have a $300 show.
or as free gift with $120 purchase or as free gift if they sign up as a consultant.

Corine, I have heard the same thing about Bobbi Brown. This would be a good question to email BC directly for the answer. Please let us know what they say.

Also, you are welcome to sell any of the sales aids to your customers. It is completely up to you. The only item that BC really discourages selling is the neckwrap as it is an exclusive hostess gift for booking a spa.

I use the sales aids primarily for incentives. In other words, if you had a client that really wanted the make up brushes, maybe use them as leverage to get that client to buy a certain $$ amount of makeup and she will get those as a gift.

I used the cabana cha-cha minis as an incentive at my spas that if a client purchases $100 or more they would get one as a gift. Worked like a charm!

HTH! If you do sell a sales aid (which are not discounted for us), I would recommend marking it up.

are we really allowed to sell sales aids to customers? i remember we talked about this before christmas and i thought that someone on this board shad aid that it was not allowed.
i would like to put together little gifts sets for events and holidays- like tealights, spa headband and a set of minis as an inexpensive gift set, but i didn't think it was allowed. i thought it would be great for mother's day or christmas or as a little birthday gift.

Same here, I think that I heard that at BeautiU. I also know that Susan Lewis out of Texarkana, TX sells her brushes for $45. It probably depends on what you wantto sell them for, and what others in your area are sellin them for too. Some offer them with a make-up set purchase. Also try the foundation brush if you haven't. They are a great aid in selling liquid foundation , if you sell a lot of makeup.

I use the sales aids for incentives and I also sell them. The only item I have read that we can not sell is the neck wrap. I usually sell them for 50% more then the cost. There are a few times I will sell them less than that. I use my own judgment. At a fair we did recently the only way we made back our booth money was selling mini sets. When I do events like that I know we ge lots of spa bookings and leads but I always want to make some money on sales and at least make out booth money back.

Thanks for the feedback ladies :)

Im here to dispell any rumors I just started with the Brushes being designed by BobbiBrown, I just got off with Customer care and no, they were not.

Kinda bummed- cause I believed it when I heard it and it could definitely have been a BIG SELLING POINT!

07-20-2007, 08:53 AM
i'm a little bummed too. i am going to have to tell my director, because she is the one who told me about Bobbi Brown. they are nice brushes though, definetely nicer than brushes i bought at target.

but i am excited that we can sell the sales aids.

longstreet - what do you call the mini sets when you sell them at a fair - do you just call them mini sets or do you have a creative name for them?

I sell my sales aids. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif
A former consultant wanted to buy two packs of sponges for me, so I sold them to her at cost (she placed a VERY large order with me). Lucky for me, they happened to be on sale, so I made a small profit on them.

I was planning on selling the brushes for $30....but if Susan Lewis can get $45 for them, I may try that!

Our eye color IS made by the same company that makes Dior & DiorShow....THAT is a good selling point too, especially for those who may want to colormatch Dior's shadows.

ok, so i thought that we made all of our own products at our factory in texas. Are a lot of our products made by other companies?

Okay, so I used to work for Clinique. They would have someone else design something, but they would produce and sell it. I believe I was told at BU that the brushes were DESIGNED by BB. As for the colors Dior possibly designs it but BC manufactures it. Just a thought

that makes sense to me, but Corine says that Customer care told her that the brushes were not designed by Bobbi Brown. If this is not true, then i would love to know where everyone got this idea from. I think I will send an email to product development to see what they say.

I just call the mini sets what they are. Save Your Sole mini, Spa Mpini, Cabana Mini and so on. My director says we should call the mini sets travel sets. I am trying to get use to doing that. Someone on this board talked about making a mini set with samples. Bath minerals, Eyepads in a small ziplock and maybe a tealight. I think she sold them for $2. I don't know the ramifications on making our own mini sets with samples we make up. I still have some minis of the Extreme Repair and I ordered someof the minis that were reduced like theBistro andLOS Dkin Balm. Isold them for $2 each andsold a ton of them. Should have ordered more.

I heard at BeautiU that they were the same design and products and were made by the same company that makes BB brushes.

I was also told at BU that the majority of our products are manufactured by us, but there are a few color products that are not.

Hi

So BB doesn't make them, but they are the same products and posibly design of the BB brushes. That is a fantastic marketing point!!

I've also heard that our makeup is made by the same company that makes MAC make up which I love to use b/c I know how people love MAC makeup.

About selling our sales aids... I haven't really sold sales aids but maybe I'll start now! However, don't our mini products say "not for resale" which means we can't sell them? So maybe someone can figure out the legalities in that. Thanks! I'm excited about selling my brushes and stuff like that now. I have a pedicure set that's been sitting around for a long time now!

Our brushes are virtually identical to hers. And her sets sell for $150! When ours first came out, we were told that they are a $50 value. They were a hostess-only gift (back before the spa parties were around). I DID sell them for $50...and that is an incredible value, when you compare them to BB's $150 price tag.

Hi Spas by Cori-

There was a previous thread regarding the brush sets. I bumped it up for you. It is titled "Additional Offers at BeautiU".

Hope this helps!

I like the idea of FREE GIFT when THEY SIGN UP AS CONSULTANT --good recruiting tool. And EVERYONE wants those super soft brushes I just got mine a few months ago and I love them.
