Hi all!
I'm pretty new to these boards and have started to apply for MS jobs--probably 15-20 now and it seems like I go through the application, and half the time the tests they require just to find out there is nothing that exists in my area (or within 30 miles of). Sohere are my questions
--is there any way to find jobs specifically in this area? (central California). Do I just keep applying w/ different companies and hope somethingwill open up? I figure there has GOT to be SOMETHING SOMEWHERE in this area, it's a 'fairly large' town with TONS of chains....I'm just feeling discouraged after reading numerous "nothing available in your area".
Any advice would be great! Thanks so much.

The best way to obtain shops is to keep applying to companies. It is difficult at first, but the key is to keep track of the websites, user names and passwords for each of the companies that you have applied to. Some will offer shops by email and some you will need to log ino their sites and self assign shops.
Even if they have no available shops now, it may be that they have just been taken for this month. They could easily have shops available next week or next month. Shops can be released at any time.

If you have gas stations, banks, grocery stores, fast food restaurants, family and fine dining restaurants, retails stores, then there is a good chance that your area is shopped. Dont give up! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

Just because they have nothing right now, doesn't mean that later in the month they won't. Many companies release their jobs a certain time a month. After that, they don't have any listed until the next release. That is why you must apply and keep checking all the job boards on the company sites. Just cause something isn't there at noon, doesn't mean that they won't be there at 5:00pm. You would be surprised at how quickly some jobs get swiped up. Keep trying. I would say try shopnchek, certified, Beyond Hello, A Closer Look, and Best Mark. Some of these companies don't pay the best, but they are steady. Just keep trying. Many companies will also send emails out when they have job postings.
