http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley25.gifI went to the http://surveystar.blogsource.com website and found a site called Upromise that puts money in an account for you (for college) every time you shop at one of their registered stores. Sounds great, but I'm wondering if you have to prove that the money you're accumulating is going to go towards college for yourself or your child? Would you be disqualified if you're intention was to use the money for something else?Does anybody know?

Hey there, that is actually my blog :) So I am happy to answer the question. Nope, you can really use the money any way you like. You can request a check 4x a year and it just comes to you. When mine comes, I deposit it and then write a check over to my 529 plan...but you certainly don't have to. The only way you'd be locked into doing it for education is if you signed up for their 429 plan. Does that help?
