hi all!
i used to do a lot of paper piecing type work as a preschool teacher for wall displays and cards for the kids. i've got some time on my hands and thought that i might try to make some layouts to try to sell on ebay.

does anyone have any good scrapbooking or paper piecing 101 websites that they really like?

can you just use a gluestick to glue the pieces together? or is there some more professional glue that the "pros" use?

and once the page is done are you supposed to put anything over the top?

love,
shannon

Hi Shannon~

Are you looking for websites with scrapbooking supplies or ideas?

Feel free to check out my MemoryWorks site for supplies if you are in need of anything! There is also a wonderful online gallery there to give you some ideas of what's "In" these days! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

As for sticking things together....I'm not much of a paper piecer, but I do the scrapbooking and usually use glue dots......double sided sticky photo tabs for adhering things to my pages.

If you're going to sell them on ebay......I guess it would be up to you whether or not you put something over them. I sold a few before and usually either put a page protector or shipped them in large clear bags....to keep everything protected.

Good luck & Have FUN!

thanks! i'll check out you site later. right now, i'm just looking for ideas...though i suspect my style might be a little different than here cuz it's a style popular in japan for decorating classrooms. i'll probably need more supplies later though. smileys/smiley2.gif

as for the protective layer...what i meant was more...i can't think of the name of the stuff, but it's the stuff that you'd use if you were to say, decoupage a table. kind of like a layer of clear nail polish over the work (not it's not nail polish).

love,
shannon

Hi Shannon!

I have seen some people use modge podge, but the most important thing is to make sure that it is acid free!

I sell products from a company called Close To My Heart. We have a product called Liquid Glass which you can use to adhere things together like glue, you can use it like a decoupage, you can use it to give a "cracked glass" effect, etc. The possibilities are endless.

Feel free to go to my website at cynthiakramer.myctmh.com to see the product. Let me know if you have any questions or if you would like more info.

P.S. I have found a lot of scrapbooking and paper crafting ideas at www.splitcoaststampers.com (http://www.splitcoaststampers.com). There are other sites out there too... just do a search for them.Edited by: 1remark

Hi Shannon,

I don't know if you're still looking, but I just came across this site which might be helpful to you:

It looks like they have tons of paper piecing patterns along with general paper piecing instructions and tips.

I use glue dots, mod podge, glue stick, photo corners, craft glue as my adhesives. It really depends on what I'm trying to put together.

I don't put anything on it after it's all done except I do put it in an album with page protectors.

If you want to join any MSN groups, I highly recommend Scrapping Friends. It's a very busy group dedicated to scrapbooking and new techniques. I have learned SO MUCH in this group. There are lots of examples and lots inspiration there. And, there are some very talented knowledgeful ladies there who are willing to help. They do swaps as well. I've participated in a few of those and they are a lot of fun and a great way to see other people's handmade items first hand. I've been a member there for nearly 2 years and am still loving it.

If you want to make pp's to sell, I would suggest you mount them on cardstock when you are finished, just for the added durability. And, use acid fee adhesives for scrapbooking. I really like the Zig pens. I would use permanent adhesives for pp'ings.
