How do you sign up wholesale buyers at shows without taking orders from the hostess, but not leaving the new wholesale buyer feeling like they are getting cheated? I mean if they sign up for WB, then they realize what they spent at the hostess party could have gone toward there own $100 +gift or RSVP, wouldn't they get upset??
This issue confuses me so much, I'm considering only doing puppies - but I'm afraid just doing puppies isn't enough..
Someone please help!!!

I have recently signed up with arbonne and although I cannot answer
your question directly, I can tell you that my sponsor (who entered
into National Manager qualification in Sept) has not done a single
party and obviously been successful. I have no plans of doing parties
for the fact that they arent my thing...lol
Puppies can be enough ;)

nbrendal-Our NVP hasn't done a class in 9 months or more she says. By the time you reach NVP, you are definitely doing much more coaching/supporting than classes/presentations. Personally, I can't wait to get there. I am working on my plan...
But for those of us who still do classes, could someoneplease elaborate. It is confusing to some of us newbies.
TIA!

In my experience of signing up wholesale buyers at shows, I've had the combination of retail clients, wholesale with $100+ and Re9 sign-ups.
I give the newWholesale Buyers their FREE gift w/$100+ order, but combine everything else togive to the Hostess ($100 for $20).
I share with the new Wholesale buyers, when they Host a party or the NEXT time they order they too can get the $100 for $20.
Just seems to have worked pretty good this way.

When I did parties I did it a little different, for the ones who wanted an account, I would still give them wholesale prices, they book and hold a class and their wholesale account wouldn't begin until their class, that's also when they would get their free product. Then you also would have the option of doing an rsvp class (or smart start if you need more volume) since it's definitely on their beginning month. I do get the $29 and the consultant form filled out, but don't actually enter it til they have their class. It just makes it alot easier that way rather than to try to figure out how to get the hostess her rewards.smileys/smiley2.gif

oh, and puppies are enough, because anyone can do puppies, it's very duplicatable, people see how easy it can be and they "get it"! like one gal said to me recently, "you mean all Ihave to do is let people try these orange bottles, and then show them this folder (results presentation)? Dang, I can do that!"http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gifEdited by: cassandra

I picked up one of my pups today from a lady who had been a MK user for years. I called & asked her to try it for a few days & she agreed. It turns out she had been to a neighbors biz launch earlier & had the "handcial". She said she liked the porducts ok, but would never had switched. After trying the pup for three days - she was hooked! I thought this was a nice insight & decided to share. She loves the try before you buy system!

Cassandra-So what did they end up ordering at the original party? Just looking for a general idea. Do youthink they lowered their order at the original party?
I'm just thinking thatif we present the 3 ways to win (I always do), the folks who want to sign up make up their mind before getting to the end & placing orders. The ones we have had that said they wanted to sign up let us know that right off the bat once they heard about the discount. They ordered over $250 so that they received the additional $100 for 20. It gets confusing because we are told to definitely present the 3 ways to win (& I understand why) and then folks ask about the benefits of being a wb. I give full disclosure as I feel we should so they know everything they are entitled to. How then do we get back to telling them to wait until their party to do this? The ones we have signed up do not wish to have a party, they just want the discount.None of them have wanted the RSVP either.
Sorry for all the questions, I just can't seem to wrap my mind around this & I really want to understand. Thanks for your patience!

So here we go again...sorry. I did a class for my bb last night. There were6 guests (there was a husband/wife couple). Three people signed up as wb, one wanted to take the catalog home & think about it (she is moving this week), & the last person had a $58 order she put in under her friend to get the 35% off. Two of the three spent over $250. Had this been a class with a non consultant hostess, there would have been $0 in sales to collect the $100 for $20 from even thought there were sign up sales over $650. What would you do in this situation if it were a non consultant hostess?
Thanks for any insight!

Shouldn't matter if the Hostess is a bb or a non-consultant. Not sure the exact breakdown of the party orders, but sounds like she would get at least 2....
The guests are there to support the Hostess. I share with the guests at the class thatas a Hostess, they will be able toget$100 for $20 with every $250 in orders.
Arbonne offer the 3 ways to win, which everyone can take advantage of. I tell them it includes a guest signing up that nite to save money on their purchase.
I ask if the guest would be interested in hosting a party and share that I will help them take advantage of the same benefits. If they decline, I share with them all the benefits they are entitled to for their FUTURE purchases.
The balance of the orders could be placed under the bb id.
I've actually had people who ALREADY were wholesale buyers at parties...I give them their "discounted price", and combine the orders so the HOSTESScan take advantage of the $100 for $20.
I thank them for supporting the Hostess that nite, but don't pursue them any longer as they are being assisted by another consultant.
Hope this helps.Edited by: SwissSkin

These folks would not have signed up or spent as much if not for the discounts they received.
*sigh* I am so confused.

I learned this lesson the hard way too! The Hostess knew her benefits, but when someone was interested in the RE9, I offered them the $100 for $20...only to have to do some EXTREME ARBONOPOLY to try to get the Hostess HER benefits!!
Let's look at the positive. This is an "Earn as You Learn business". You've learned a valuable lesson for your business going forward.
If you notice the "Enjoy the Rewards of Hosting" brochure, it saysas a HOSTESS, you can earn theRE9 body system for $20 w/$150 in orders and $100 for $20 with every $250, period.
Anywhere you see "3 Ways to Win", it only mentions receiving 35% off as a consultant....not any other specific details.
Focus on the Hostess getting the benefits she's entitled to for her time, energy & effort to have her friends over. Her guests can earn the same rewards, should they want to host a party too!
Hope this helps!

YES - offer the 3 Ways to Win with Arbonne to EVERYONE! (People will determine which way they want to get involved)
YES - it's shown HOW to offer the 3 Ways to Win the 7 Steps to aSuccessful PresentationDVD
But you'll also find the 3 Ways to Win and the list of "benefits" is listed EVERYWHERE. The catalog, Hosting Rewards brochure, Product Overview, Arbonne NOW brochure, etc.

All guests at a party should know that when someone would host a party the hostgets the host rewards and host specials! If they don't "get it" then you need to tell them about the host rewards and host specials for that evening are going to the host. If they want the wholesale account, I want them to host a party since I am giving up my retail commission, this is my business and I need to make money, when I lose my commission to give someone wholesale account, this is the way to keep my business going- widening my circle, everyone at the party should understand that. If someone is scheduling a party, wants the wholesale account, I give them the discount only at that time. When they host a party, their account will start then, with free gift, and they will get their host rewards/specials at their party. This way I don't have to try to... how did the other consultant say it.... I don't have to play Arbonne-opoly trying to figure out how to get the host what she deserves, and to get the new wholesalers their free gifts. I made that mistake in the beginning and the whole point of me doing this is so that I can have time to spend with my kids, not to have to sit in front of the order screen for hours on end trying to figure out how to get everybody everything they want without money coming out of my pocket. Now that the qualifications for DM are $1,000 in their first month-- I use this to my advantage- if their class order is over $1,000 I tell them they should really consider "doing Arbonne" since they just reached first step DM, if it's close, I tell them "you are so close to making first step to DM" and I explain that to them, also whoever wants wholesale account at their class will be signed under them, so lets say Amanda hosts a party and Betty, Cindy and Debbie all want wholesale and will be hosts, then I tell Amanda that "not only have you reached first step DM, you already have 3 parties scheduled/wholesale buyers/potential business builders under you!" (since I tell all guests that if they want the wholesale account they will be placed under the host- should the host ever want to become BB, then it's only right- ethics here- that the guests would be their client/bb, not mine) and then, "Don't worry about knowing the business yet, as part of my team I will attachyou to my hip for 30 days, if you really want this then I will do everything in my power to aid and assist you." Then the guests who want an account, I try to give incentives for them to host as soon as possible, so the hostess will be their upline and can really promote easily to DM, get them to have a party soon after their initial order comes in when they are still very excited about using these new products, their excitement will lead to better sales with the guests at their own party, which we all know what excitement of the products does for our business-- it means MOMENTUM!smileys/smiley2.gif
I know, sorry so long winded. I pretty much do the same concept with the REsults Approach, I get referrals since I am giving up my retail commission, the referrals get placed under the refer-er, same concept basically about the placement of downline.

at a CATS training earlier this year, the speaker-- I believe it was ENVP Deana Wilkinson-- asked how many of us had started a consultants account with Arbonne JUST to get the discount? I swear to you, about 80% said YES, just started as wholesalers!!! There's a gal on my team who was a wholesaler for nearly half a year, when she got the Upclose in the mail earlier in the summer, she saw the peridot jewelry and called our AM to ask what she had to do to get it? Get $800 in sales, she did and now she is a BB- DM!
