Hello everyone in BC land! I came across this idea and though it is similar to other things that have been discussed already, it kind of puts a different spin on it.

The idea is to do an "Office of the Week"
Here's the script:
"Hi, my name is ______and I'm with BeautiControl (or I operate a Mobile spa business in the area). The reason I'mcalling is that we are "honoring working women" this month andyour company has been selected as "office of the week!" I would like to drop off goodie bags for all the women that work there! How many women work there in your office? Great, I would love to drop by this Friday around 12:00 with enough goodie bags for everyone!

**Office of the Week Gift Basket: Everyone also gets to fill out a drawing slip for the "Spa Basket!"
Your follow up is sooooo crucial! You can ask to have the women to fill out the Drawing slipswhile you are there so you can begin calling right away. Yourother choice is to leave the drawing basket at the businessand then give them 3 days to complete their drawing slips, pick them up and begin calling right away.

You can get creative with the gifts. could be a good way to get around the "no soliciting" policy that many business have. I went to some banks last week to try and schedule spa @ work events, but they told me that setting up the spa on site would be considered soliciting, even if I never display or sell products. If you have lots of whatever the gift is, you could probably just go the business and do this face to face, basket in arm full of really cute gifts. Take a friend. it would be a lot more fun that way.

I love the idea of the office of the week. What do you put in the goody bags? I am a little confused about the gift basket and drawing part, could ou explain that more? please.
I did some cold callng last week and found it is hard for some busineeses to do somehting on sight, but if you gave themeach a goody bag with a coupon for a free spa escape and $20 free product coupon when they hod there own spa escape you might get some bookings
love the idea

This is a great idea!!! You could even combine efforts with a couple other consultants from different companies and make really nice goody bags. What did you put in yours?

I haven't done it yet. I just came across the idea and posted it as soon as I learned about it. I'm thinking you can just be really creative with the idea. Perhaps a mini (and they don't have to be the same) or something else inexpensive. You could even do a soh sample. Then, throw in a couple pieces of candy, a tea light candle, a coupon for a free in-home spa event and $20 free product delivered at the spa. That, in a cello bag with some curling ribbon and your business card--instant gift! One way to wrap things that is very inexpensive is to use tissue paper. then, they really get excited because they can't see what's inside. It really sparks their interest. It would be very inexpensive--you can get 100 tealight candles for 3-4 bucks, minis are fairly cost effective, especially if you get the spa express kits this month for $5.

REgarding the spa basket: the idea is to give all the women a goodie bag and an opportunity to win a spa basket (which could be anything you feel comfortable giving away). Give the ladies a slip to fill out with their name, phone number, etc. that way, you have not only given them all a sample, but you have their contact info so you can follow up. It could easily be a full spa express kit with the bag and everything. Or, if you have some product to get rid of, make a basket of it and give it away to one lucky person. For everyone else, you call them, thank them for being a working woman, and ask them when they would like to take advantage of their free spa coupon. And be sure to let them know that they can have 6-8 girlfriends join them for the spa event for some pampering and de-stressing. If it is not possible to have them fill out the drawing slips right away, leave the slips with an envelope, and tell them you'll be back in 2 or 3 days to pick them up.

I really like the idea of combining with other consultants and creating some really, really neat goody bags. Then, the give away could be a combo of various products.

I guess I was thinking the basket would be expensive, but it doesn't need to be. I like the idea of the tissue paper too. I have put the gifts in tissue before, then but that in a cello bag with the tissue coming out the top, that way they can't see and they won't rip in transport.
The only problem I see with doing other reps is they to would be trying to book parties and if people have a choice they might not pick a spa.
I am terrible at following up, I don't know what I am afraid of, I would probably have a better reorder business if I did.

one thing I heard that has really helped me with my followup with clients and people from spas, is this: You were just talking to these people days ago and everything was fine. There's no need to be scared to talk to them today.

Another idea for the basket--instead of a basket, you could do a gift certificate for a pedicure or manicure. Or, do a basket with like a sugar scrub, sugar lotion, pumice stone/foot file, bath mineral sample, and spa socks. the possibilities are endless.

I did consider that the other reps would be trying to book their own parties and things like that. Perhaps you could plan a double party--like a BC spa that featured food by Tastefully Simple. It needs to be someone you really like and trust to team up with. For most people, I think that would be more trouble than it's worth. For me, it would be. I think I would prefer flying solo on that one!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif One thing you can do that would help your team, is to have some people on your team responsible for making some goody bags. And, if they do, you can split the drawing slips with them, as well as the cost of the basket for the give away. I think that would be a good idea. So, if you and 2 people on your team go in together and make the goody bags for an office of 21 ladies, you will each get about 7 leads. 7 leads a week is about 28 for the month...if half of those people book a spa, that's 14 spas on your books. Not a bad deal!

This is a TERRIFIC idea. I'm thinking that it might even work just from the idea of booking work spas. Somehow when you are telling them that they were selected as the business of the week that not only would their employees receive a special gift but also a X minute pampering session, even if all you did was go in and do the SOH treatment and the xtreme hand repair, that only takes 1 minute per person.....

Thank for the idea. Now i need to get on the phone!!!

Great idea! This sounds like a good way to get around the summer booking dilemnas I've been having! Thanks for sharing!

tn spa diva...did you have any success with the "Office of the Week"?

Thanks!

thanks for asking. Honestly, I didn't get to really kick it off like I wanted to. I got very sick this summer--so sick my daughter stayed a week at her God mother's house. I was poked, tested, checked out, and at this point, still not quite sure what happened. all I know is that it is something with my immune system and that I am very anemic. I have an appt. with a rheumatologist at the end of the month. In the midst of all that, my dad had a heart attack and had triple bypass surgery. Between the sickness, going out of town to be with my dad, and some other family things that happened, I wasn't able to do hardly anything related to BC. I did go to celebration because I felt like I needed the time away from it all. I'm so glad I went. So, I guess to answer your question, it wasn't successful but only because I didn't get to do ithttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif I plan to picking it back up when I get a chance and just offering the employees gift certificates for free spa escapes since I can't do the office spas unless I do it on a Saturday. I will definatly be working on trying to get some office spas during my christmas break to treat the employees and offer gift packages for the holidays.
