ok, I'mjust starting and my husband is starting to worry that this is more about just recruiting and not about selling a great product. That bothers him as he thinks it is "pyramid-ish" --Yes I know Arbonne is not a pyramid!!

But, I'm not sure how to answer him because the more I read the boards it seems everyone is most concerned about getting wholesale buyers and bizbuilders...does anybody do retail as a major part of their business??

can you give me some numbers of how many retail customers vs. wholesale & bizbuilders....

to be honest, I'm getting confused -- am I selling the product to make the 35% profit for myself or should my main goal be to get that downline???

I signed up with a lady I work with but she is not very active so I'm kinda on my own right now to figure this stuff out...

Thanks for your help!!

Hello, it does get a bit confusing. I just had a training this weekend and my upline was saying that our #1 product is the business. They say that the 35% profit is great "right now" money, but if you want your business to grow and if you want to start to see a lot of money, you need to sign people up, and get them to sign people up and so on and so on. They say that what's going to happen is that you are going to build a network of consumers because these people are going to use the products and get thier team to use the products too.

I personally do a lot of retail selling and make money off of that. I've had a couple of business builders who have helped me make my promotion to District last month. Which will increase the paycheck too. But of course, reading other posts, they say product before business. Which I can agree with too. I know I'm not helping, but just thought I'd put in my two cents.

the 35% right now money is fantastic but the majority of consultants see the bigger picture after sharing Arbonne with new people and the response being so positive. That bigger picture is the VP level and getting the mercedes, which the only way to get there is to build a network of team members, biz builders, wholesalers who will share Arbonne.Edited by: cassandra

By focusing on just selling you will of course build your business but at a slower rate. Our re-rder rate is 86% which is very high in any industry. Your typical sales cycle w/ these products could be anywhere from 3-8 months depending on your client. The "right now" money is definitely great, but I have seen a difference in my checks from my downline moreso than just my sales. I definitely focus on the products but always offer the business as well. You just never know who may be interested. Many people love the products but may not want to spend the $. That's an easy way to get them to become a wholesale buyer - offer them the discount. Just do the math for them. They only have to pay $29 to get that discount for an entire year and then $15 each year after. They become a wholesale buyer with no intention of selling, then their friend notices that their skin looks great and there ya have it- they start to sell.

The great thing about this business is that it's yours. Focus on your "why" and set goals for yourself. Not everyone has to move at the speed of lightning!

Another thing to do is to read the 45 second presentation book. It will make you and your dh understand the biz alot better. I personally do both (products and biz), I always offer the biz as well as the products.

Good luck with your biz

I was just about to say read 45 Sec. presentation Book.. This will help your dh understant the differences in us and pyramid.. First off we are just the opposite.. Everyone can go to the top in a pyramid only the first people in can.. like Corp. America.. one CEO or President at the top.. lost of others at the bottom. With Arbonne anyone can go VP.

I personally do both also.

Good luck!!
