What do you ladies do to get rid of old cataliogs?? I was thinking of going door to door and leaving them on the knobs (since the Avon ladies on base do this all the time), but what type of message, and where do you put it??
Thanks!!

I gave a ton of my old catalogs away at an expo I did this weekend. Since I knew they were outdated, I wasn't so picky as to who I gave them to. But I did put a sticker on them that said it was an outdated catalog and to please call me when they want to place an order for current pricing and to make sure we still carried the item. I didn't want to have to go through the whole catalog and put stickers on the books we no longer carry smileys/smiley2.gif.
You could also drop them off at doctor's offices, waiting rooms and such. I'd make sure I ask at the desk first though, because I've heard they will throw them away if you haven't specifically asked.

Do you have a new price list? I usually still use all my old catalogs and just add the new price list to it! It still works out great, and of course no waste! smileys/smiley17.gif

I drop mine off at salons, doctor's offices, auto repair shops, ect. Basically anywhere there is a waiting room with women sitting around!

Hi Rosie,
In another thread someone mentioned using individual pages (if you do
not have many old ones) and putting a sticker of there saying to
contact you for the new catalog. If you are doing a big vendor
event this would work so well! I plan on doing just that for the
Women's expo I am doing next weekend in Boston. What a great way
to reuse old catalogs and get my name out there.

I always use my old catalogs in my recruiting packets. I just write
EXPIRED across the front. This way, she can see different products we
have offered in the past. I especially do this with the old seasonal
catalogs I almost always have left over.

Hi, Rosi.
I had a fun game I played with old catalogs. I gave each guest at the party an old catalog, a pen (sharpies work best) and a sheet of "clues" that led to some of the products. They had to flip through and find as many of the products as they could. You could have them write the number of the clue next to the product as they find them. Give a few prizes out... to the person who found the most, the one who found the "special prize", the one who buys one or more of the products, whatever.
I found that this is a good way to get the guests looking through a catalog and getting familiar with the products, without messing up the newer catalogs. It was a lot of fun, as well!
Good luck!

What I did was put them on apartment complexes doors. I really wasnt too picky of which doors, I passed them out. Better than throwing them out. This way I might have a chance of getting a phone call. I also wrote on the back that the newer updated catalogs are out and to call me if they wanted one. That way I dont waste my money and have a chance for people to see what I sell!smileys/smiley2.gifEdited by: MizzRobin

There's a poem I put on a label and stick on my old ones. Then I leave them everywhere! It says:
Though the date on this catalog may be old
Just look inside and you'll be sold
Many great productsyou will see
Call me to learn how to get some FREE!
It's not my own original poem. I found it on thebooster.com. But it works well.

I love the poem idea! That is great.
I also like the game idea to get people looking through the catalog.
Great tips ladies!
