Yesterday evening I received ten new AF leads. Thought I would go ahead and add them to my email contacts list and one of them was online and available for chat...

So I chatted! Started off with Hi Marian, this is Charlie Little with Mia Bella Gourmet Candles. She replied..."Really?" LOL! We went on some and she checked my websites and stuff. I see this morning she has completed the MySplashPro survey and signed up for the candle drawing and will be contacting me later on today with questions.

So, it might be a good thing to add your contacts as soon as you get them to your contacts list if you have chat available. If not, get a yahoo account or better yet a gmail account which is much more better IMO! Yahoo seems to be getting very picky about stuff!

Does gmail have a chat feature? Or do you use the yahoomessenger?

Both Gmail and Yahoo mail have instant chat inside the mailbox. If you see someone online you just click on their name and start to chat.

Wow, I didn't realize that we could see who was online to chat via yahoo... I may have to get a second yahoo address to use for leads...

Yahoo is getting very hard to get mail through. I have 5 yahoo accounts. Even sending myself test mails sometimes goes into the spam folders. nearly everything sent form my non yahoo accounts to my yahoo accounts goes into spam. But the yahoo chat is coolsmileys/smiley4.gif

You have to download the gmail chat.. just like the yahoo messenger..

Hi - don't mean to intrude but I have gmail and I love it. I don't recall having to download chat but I do recall having to invite people to join as that was the only way anyone could sign up.

Gmail will never separate emails into spam unless you mark them. Also, if you "tag" your emails depending on what they are in reference to, you can search easier.

I love the chat feature and I love the enourmous amount of space they give you for FREE!

I love gmail.. I'll have to check out that chat feature.

When I log into my gmail account my chat is already there to the left with dots next to my contact names. When someone is online, their dot is green. You can even see who they are if they chose to have a picture in their profile OR you can upload a picture to go with your contact. It's really cool.

I do know under my name where Chat is located it does say "sign in" or "sign out" of chat. But when you are signed in, you can even mark yourself away or busy or on the phone or type in your own personal "away message".

It's a great feature!

If anyone wants to try it out, PM me your email address and I'll be more than happy to invite you to sign up. It's free. I don't get anything out of it but I'm allowed to invite 50 people to sign up. I was told that was the only way to get an account. Maybe it's changed now.

For me it is. If I could figure out how to do a screen shot and post it here to show you I would. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif Once you sign into Gmail, scroll down the page and you'll see a box called Quick Contacts. That is the people you most frequently email but you can add anyone to the list. THAT is the chat section. Look for the dot next to their name. Also, when you invite someone to join, you'll see "invited" next to their name until they accept the invitation.

I'm trying to get as many people as I know to use this because it blows away yahoo, hotmail or aol (just my humble opinion).
