I'm participating in an Expo all day tomorrow and I was trying to think of a way to make my table look more "unique"....
I know, I don't have much time... I'm happy with what I do now, but I just feel like it needs spruced up a bit, and I'm going to be in another one in two weeks, so if I don't have time to put anything else together for tomorrow, I can always work on it for the next time.
Any book reps out there..... how do you display your books if you don't have a display holder for books?
Right now, Iput a couple small boxes right on top of my table covering, then I cover the whole thing with an accenting colored material so that the boxes are covered. Then I lean quite a few books up against the boxes and kind of fan them out a bit.... Probably hard to envision....
I also have some hard cover book sets that I set upright kind of fanned out too. I have a crate with cash and carry items. I've got one of our Good Books & Company banners that will go on the front of my table. Ialso have one of those 3-fold display boards that says, "Have you read any Good Books lately?" with pictures cut out from our catalog.
I have my drawing box for a free book and I'm going to have a sign up sheet for those interested in hosting a show, being put on my mailing list or interested in the business.
I have about 25 old catalogs that I will be giving out to anyone whoshows aninterest, and if they are really interested, I'll give them one of the new catalogs.
What else could I do to make my display stand out????
Any and all ideas are appreciated!

I just purchased a folder rack at Walmart to display art prints at an upcoming show. It is clear plastic and stair steps up. Hard to discribe. It was around $8. That would work for books too. If you have kid's books you could have a big teddybear with a book proped up like he's reading it.

YOu could go to the dollar store and buy one or two little easels to
display books on. You could have the "Special of the Month" or
"Retiring Soon" or "My Family's Favorites" displayed like that.
Could you use a stuffed worm (O"m thinking the kind that used to come
in McD's happy meals) and have a "book worm" peeking out from a book?
LOL
How about a kids area with a beanbag chair and two books there for any
kids to sit and flip through a book for a minute? That would be
really uniquesmileys/smiley32.gif
Also I would reccommend adding some greenery to your display.
Maybe stack some books and put an urn on top with some greenery hanging
out. Just something like that to add color.
Also, have you considered giving teachers a discount? You could even
have a "Teachers Table" where anything they order off that table gets
them free shipping, or 10% off, etc.
Okay, just some ideas. I love books. :) Good luck!!!!

Okay...well..my post is probably too late for your expo( I hope it went well!) but here is what I do.
I have the racks from fixture craft - I highly recommend them! The don't take up alot of space, and you can really cram alot in them! I also have some collapsable crates that I put on their sides, so that you can see the spines of some of my books that I don't have room for.
My floor is made of the foam colorful mat blocks- I got mine at Sam's club- which invites the kids(and their parents! ) in, and is also great on your feet when you are standing around all day :) Kids also love to plop down on the floor and read there toosmileys/smiley2.gif
I usually do some sort of theme display in mine....lately dinosaurs and fairies have been popular...so a mini-theme looks cute.
One of our logos is a yellow duck,...so I have some stuffed ducks, and give out duck stickers to kids who come by.
I also give out bookmarks with my information on them :)
Let us know how it went!!
