Hi everyone! I requested that my previous journal be deleted as it had gotten a bit out of hand, but all issues are resolved (I thinkhttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif) I am starting this journal to show people the good, the bad, and the ugly of this weight loss plan as well as how to do it healthy. This is also for supporting and encouraging other wahm's on the Kimkin's plan, discussing recipes and ideas, etc. So basically in a nutshell, as Thumper would say: "If you can't say somethin' nice....don't say nothin' at all!"http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gifI will be taking my own advice, I promisehttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

Ok, I will post some more stuff after my workout, but I can't avoid Plyo any longerhttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gifI really do not like this workout but yet I love that it's giving me a butthttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gifFigureshttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

Now that I've done Plyohttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley11.gifHere's the info on Kimkins.

This thread outlines the plan: K/E and Kimkins Quick Reference Info (http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=431457)

I am basically doing K/E for 4-8 weeks until I reach goal. My first week on this plan I lost 10.5lbs (7.5lbs of fat, 3lbs of water, no muscle losssmileys/smiley32.gif). I am in deep ketosis and I must say I love it! I don't feel deprived at all which is very surprising because on almost every diet I've been on I had to will power through the hungersmileys/smiley4.gifMy allegergies seem to get better day by day. I'm thinking I have an allergy to dairy and gluten.

I am highly insulin resistant so this plan seems to be my secret weapon for weight loss. It took me 6 months to lose 25lbs with just diet and exercise alone. I upped my cals, lowered my cals, etc, but still my loss was less than a pound per week. (10 of the pounds I lost on the Master Cleanse which is essentially a 10 day fast, so in actuality it took me 6 months to lose 15lbs plus I actually LOST 5lbs of muscle when I upped my cals).

Under normal circumstances, this would be a highly odd situation, however I have a family history of diabetes (Most of my family is diabetic or pre-diabetic and I was pre-diabetic when I was in the 190's), thus a genetic predisposition to insulin resistance. Add to that the mentrual issues I was/am having (greatly improved as I've lost weight) and it's a dead give away for PCOS and Insulin resistance.

I feel really great on this plan. The first couple of days I was a little fatigued by now I have crazy energy! I guess this ole belly is finally being put to usesmileys/smiley36.gifMy abodomen is at 35 inches now! It's been 37 for the last 2 months so this is exciting for me!

I haven't had "Keto Breath" at all, but then again I'm a little neurotic about brushing my teeth (hey, I got thousands of dollars worth of dental work in there...I'm getting my money's worthsmileys/smiley36.gif) so that's probably why lol. OT: You gotta check out Crest's new Pro Health line! It was reccommended by my dental hygenist and it's great stuff! My teetch stay plaque free all day and breath is always fresh!smileys/smiley4.gif

Ok, that's all I got for today!smileys/smiley4.gif

Hey girl,

I've lost 5.2 lbs since Saturday. I'm thinking about switching over to Boot Camp this Saturday. I'd really like a salad, altho I do like doing the KE plan. But, I've got fresh garden veggies just calling my name http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

I'm so glad TheBiggestLoser posted here. I had read about Kimkins several years ago but wasn't ready to give up my carbs.

This is the first low carb eating plan I've ever done - now I'm wondering why I didn't do it before.

I can't "weight" to get to goal and go on the maintenance! My husband told me he would buy me a new wardrobe!!

I recvd my SI6 yesterday and the dvd was scratchedhttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley11.gif I can see most of it so I'm going to do what I can until I get my new one!!

I do believe I will order P90 next. (not P90X - not ready for that!)

Anyway, glad to see you are doing well!! Keep up the posting!!!

Man TOTM is kicking my booty hard this month! It hasn't started yet, but I'm getting cramping and fatigue. It's quite a bit early, but then again it was really late last month so it balances out I guess. Still at 162. Well not TOTM is acting like it's not coming againhttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gifWierd!

Here's my stats so far:

K/E Start Weight: 173
6/18 - 173lbs 29.5% body fat - 51.035lbs of fat, 121.965lbs lean body mass (including water retained from my carb crazy weekend!smileys/smiley36.gif)

6/25 - 162.5lbs 28% body fat - 45.5lbs fat, 117lbs lean body mass (lost the water lol)

7/02 - 160lbs 25.5% body fat - 40.8lbs fat, 119lbs lean body mass (gained some muscle woohoo!)

Still no TOTM yet. Now on to my confession:

Forgive me Kimmer for I hath sinnedhttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif

Yesterday was going sooo great! 100% on plan and everything! THEN after we picked DH from work, it put me off schedule. I was NOT prepared. The girls were hungry so I grabed them a lunchable from the 99 cent store and me some Turkey breast. All was fine until I found the stuff I had just bought (headsets for cell phone) didn't work so when I went in to grab them, I grabbed.....a Tootie Roll bar toohttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley15.gifI premeditated this sin and even picked what I felt was the lowest carb candy there (only 23grams so I figured it wouldn't be too bad). Then after I had completed my sinning, I read the package to find that it's TWO SERVINGS PER BAR!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gifhttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley7.gifWhy do they do that anyway? I know at that point I was probably OUT of Ketosis, so as you all know one sin leadeth to an even greater sinhttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley15.gifI figured, well if I'm getting knocked out of Ketotsis, I'm gonna do it in stylesmileys/smiley36.gif. I had a Jack In The Box Tacohttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley3.gif, a PBJ Sandwich (natural PB but really BAD jelly), and last but not least, the ultimate sin......Bluebell Chocolate Cookie Dough Ice Cream (I blame Mrs JENNIFER MURRAY for this one!smileys/smiley36.gif). Well Iofficially have a gluten (or at least a wheat allergy) because no sooner had I finished the sandwich, my sinuses locked right up (they've been pretty good since I've been on Kimkins), my eyes started itching and watering, and I started sneezing like crazy! I woke up feeling sooo yucky this morning, however I still rank as "small" on the ketostrips!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gifAll is not lost after all!

So lesson learned! Always have low carb snacks handy when I have the car be cause hubby NEVER wants to come straight home on a Saturday! I'm back on track today, and I don't see another cheat anytime soon in my future (especially how I feel today!!!!)

i had a big splurge the other day too. after a week of no potato-chip-like snacks, i decided that i really wanted some "munchies" to go with a salad (the things that have doritos, sun chips, fritos, and pretzels all in one bag). i know damn well that i eat almost the entire bag when i get them, but i didn't care. that day, i also had a dr. pepper.
oh well. at least the next day i was more reasonable.

Well all, it's been almost 5 days and STILL I haven't recovered from my cheat lol. I am ending my Kimkins journey. It's an awesome plan (when followed using wisdom) and I am greatful for the 11lbs I have lost, however, it's too difficult for me at this time. The reson being is when you cheat and get knocked out of ketosis, you go through the whole tired all the time process all over again before you get back in. It' taking waaaay too long for me and my business is suffering (hard to make a connection with a prospect when you're yawning in their earsmileys/smiley36.gif). I mean this could be literally costingmy thousands of dollars lol! So although I do like losing faster, I'm not willing to scacvrifice my business for that. I'd rather lose a pound a week and be making thousands, than lose 3-5 and barely make anything because if I go a little over on carbs, I'll lose an entire work week. So back to 1200-1500 cals a day for me lol.

Well, you did good tho! 11 lbs is nothing to sneeze at!

I'm still doing it. I did have a 6 day Cheat Fest http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif- gained back 6 out of 7 lbs - But, I'm happy to say I've lost the original 7 plus some.

I did the KE planthe first week, it was ok. I'm doing the KK plan now andI like it better- I love my fresh from the garden veggies!!!

The only symptoms I had was a headache - not severe, more like a hormone headache .... actually that's probably what it was anyway - TOM hasn't been to visit since April !!! I'm 43, hadmy tubes tied for almost 13 years, so I KNOW I'm not preggo!! I'm thinking I may have some endodemetriosis (sp) problems going on - When it's time for my period, my back absolutely kills me after I've been asleep for about 5 hrs - very painful - and the only time it does this is during TOM. I have a dr appt the first week of Aug so I see then!
