I am planning on ordering this through Collage Video (though my DH doesn't know it yet http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif)in the next two weeks. I love The Firm and have been doing their workouts regularly for five years now. I like this because I don't need my Firm box or anything else except the weights. I also like the express workout choice that is available with each workout, it will be great for when I start teaching again and don't have as much time to workout each morning. I can't wait!

I was doing research online today and learned that for my body type(endomorph) that the firm would be a good work out for me. My question is, for those who have been doing the workout How effective is it?

I have been doing the Firm for years and I find them very effective. Some of their older stuff with the Firm Fanny Lifter seems tougher than some of their newer stuff. The new Synergy workouts look really good though and I am anxious to try them. I highly recommend The Firm, I love that they do cardio and weights both in one workout, that is one of my favorite ways to workout, killing two birds with one stone.

The Firm has some really good instructors, Allie is my favorite and several others who I have read had left, but some of the older workouts you can get with them leading, such as Jen Carmen and Lisa Kay. Both of them are good instructors with some really good workouts. I can recommend some of their older stuff if you want. I like to keep my workouts to 45 minutes or less, so the ones I share may not be super long.

Hi! I am not sure what your fitness level is, I consider myself an advanced exerciser or high-intermediate. I have The Firm workouts from when they used the Fanny Lifter, which was basically two small boxes that could be put together to make a 14 inch (I think) box for high box climbs and dips, etc. This is The Firm Body Sculpting System 2. It has some good workouts, one that I do for more weights than anything else called Complete Aerobics and Weight Training. It has more weights than aerobics and is led by Emily Welsh. It is a good workout if you want to stress weights more than cardio.

I don't have the Fanny Lifter anymore, instead I use my Firm incline box which is from The Firm Body Sculpting System 3. Any of the workouts from this system are really good. I especially like Fat Blasting Cardio, it is about 30 minutes and really good.

From the Transfirmer system (I don't have the Transfirmer, I use my Firm incline box instead), I have all of the DVD's that go with the basic system- at least I think I do. Allie Del Rio has a great workout calledAerobic Body Shaping which does cardio and then heavy weights or light weight routines. I love Allie and this is a good workout, although a bit longer than I typically do.

It also has a workout led by Stephanie Huckabee called Ultimate Calorie Blaster, which is a really good cardio with some light weights incorporated. This is one of my favorites and it is 45 minutes long.

I also like Express Cardio with Stephanie Huckabee, it is a 35 minute (I think) cardio workout with some light weights. Very good for me because it is over and done with quickly.

Some of my other favorite quick Firm workouts are :The Firm Cardio Sculpt Blaster and The Firm Advanced Cardio which is another 30 minute workout.

I am excited about the new Firm's coming up only because it only requires weights and no other fancy equipment and it will help save my knees a bit from climbing up the 14 inch step. I do love the workouts so much, but it will bea nice break from the big step, even though I think it has helped my lower body immensely.

I also want to add if you go to www.collagevideo.com (http://www.collagevideo.com) you can click on their Firm section and watch clips of all of their workouts before making a decision.

Good luck!

I did the firm for a long time... I had the older videos with the original fanny lifter... WHEW, they're tough! The only reason I started doing something else is because I found it hard to do with kids running around screaming... my daughter would swipe my fanny lifter and drag it off to do her "exercises" whenever I was at a part of the video when I didn't need it. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gifIt works... no doubt about that, but honestly I prefer beach body products because they're a lot more fun. The Firm (to me) felt like just a workout... no fun, no enthusiasm... kinda boring, which is not good for me. It's hard for me to stay motivated that way. HTH!

I like The Firm a lot and have never felt them to be boring, everything I have done from Body Sculpting System to the current Transfirmer workouts are good. I have done Slim in 6 workouts, Power 90 and Turbo Jam. I found Slim in 6 and Power 90 quite boring. Turbo Jam is fun though. I guess it comes down to personal preference but I haven't found them boring at all. I enjoy doing The Firm just as much as I enjoy doing Turbo Jam.

I do a lot of other workouts from other instructors and try to vary my workouts so I am not doing just one specific workout set each week. I do various workouts from The Firm, Turbo Jam, Christi Taylor, Tae Bo, Guillermo Gomez, and Crunch to mix it up each week. I think if I did only the Firm six days a week, I wouldn't want to workout, not because they aren't great workouts, but because doing the same thing day in and day out gets boring.

I am excited to order the new Firm workouts, because they seem different than anything they have put out and the music from the Transfirmer series is actually pretty good compared to some of the older Firm stuff.
