OH, I love the Doodlebug Scents, it is a catchy name and cute, and a logo for that would be great fun to create!

I'm not the creative type but I thought I would mention this - make sure you check the name you decide on to make sure it's not taken. You don't want to be confused with someone else in your area. (I know when we owned the restaurant in town and called it "Bear's" we were always being asked if we were part of the one in another town close by).
Also do note "Doodlebug" is the name of a candle scent. The name would work well if you want to make that your signature scent. Try it out first to make sure you like it though! We sell it and there are those that like it, but it's not a best seller by any means. Although we did sell one to a vendor at a show with the name "Doodlebug Designs".
Oh and you know what.......the domain is taken anyway. So I wouldn't be using this name regardless of how cute it is. When I search "doodlebug scents" on Google I found the other business. As well as the fragrance oil and one of my blog posts! LOL! Funny.....
But yeah, I would double check to make sure no one else is using the name. The last thing you want is a legal battle or sending your customers to their site.

How about Doodlebug Scentsations? If you don't like the Doodlebug fragrance you could always experiment by mixing a few scents together yourself and creating your own "Doodlebug" scent.....

I think we would actually call it doodlebug soy scents as we will be making soy based soaps also, that name is not taken and the domain name is still avalible but it is not a final name yet. Thanks!

My Husband wants to call it Kern & Fox Our grandmother's last names, because he would like me to market our homemade jelly and jam which I really don't want to do! Maybe someday but I think I'll stick to candles and soaps for now!
If any of you have any name suggestions that would be great!!

If you don't like the Doodlebug
fragrance you could always experiment by mixing a few scents together
yourself and creating your own "Doodlebug" scent.....
Nature's Garden might have a problem with this. It's one of their original scents. Actually it's "Doodle Bug" (two words not one), but still I can see confusion. Here's their scent:

Yeah I would pass on the jelly. You need a to have a certified kitchen (which isn't fun to get passed threw health officials). I've gotten to the point where I won't buy it unless they tell me they have a certified kitchen.
Back to the name though....I do agree with having "soy" in the title to reflect the business. Although I would probably add "Bath & Candles" to it somewhere. A company name that tells what the business is will usually be easier to remember, and gather more attention. I know I'm more likely to click on a link that describes the business better, rather than something that says "shop" or some other cute name.

I don't know about that, you go from site to site with suppliers and they all have the same names, they mix their own scents and one can smell completely different from the others with the same name. And it isn't like she is going to set up a site to sell fragrances, it is for her own use, and how are they gonna know where she got it? LOL

But this scent is a NG original scent with their own unique name. Meaning they've got the rights on the name and scent. It's not like the scent "Hot apple pie" which is made to smell like something "real".
I would be cautious to go out and copy another company's scent name and have it be something completely different. I know I'd be pretty upset if I came up with my own unique scent and unique name, only to see someone else using the same name. I wouldn't want my customers getting confused with the other company's different scent.
