Okay, maybe someone knows how to do this....... and I can't use slide.com to do it, it will either have to be embedded into the graphics or achieved with a special kind of code.

I need to make a graphic that twinkles or sparkles - like twinkling stars. It will become part of the top banner or "heading' area of the pages.

Does anyone know anything about how to achieve this effect????

I could do it with flash, but we are trying to avoid flash and I don't think I can use java since some people won't have java on their machine.

please share ideas!!!!!

Is it something you can use an animated graphic for? If so PSP has animation shop that you can use to create this. I'm sure there are other programs that create animated images too.

Yup, you can make an animated GIF via Paint Shop Pro Animation Shop (bundled). Just make sure to optimize the file so it loads fairly quickly on your visitor's browsers. Also, you can do this with SWISH (similar to Flash, fewer bells and whistles, less expensive, and much, much easier to learn). Please let me know if I may help.

Okay, well I did find a way to do it in flash, BUT we talked about not using flash because if someone doesn't have the player on their computer, then they won't see the company logo at all. So I used an animated gif. Now they haven't seen it yet, but I think they will like what I did.

you can see what I did and what is currently on the site for comparison

here is my test page http://sparklesrollerrinks.com/2007.htm

and the regular site looks like this for now till we decide if this is what we are doing http://sparklesrollerrinks.com/hiram.htm

M2cmentor,

I love it! Glad the animated gif worked - looks great and loads fairly fast on my stupid dial-up. Here's a link to Swish: http://www.swishzone.com/index.php (http://www.swishzone.com/index.php)

I used to use it quite often while working for a home builder - I created virtual tours of their homes. Very easy to use.
