Hi, everyone! I just had to share my excitement! I apologize in advance - this is going to be a LONG post. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif

BeautiControl always says "talk to everyone." I have always heard it, but never done it. Now that I am a DIQ, I am trying to branch out and take more initiative, especially now that this is my only job (quit the J.O.B in April. Yay!).

I have had several ideas floating around that I have never taken action on. One of which was offering an At Work Spa for the Highway Patrol and City PD (who better to pamper, right?).

I went to the Highway Patrol office first. Dropped of some info, but didn't hear back. So I followed up a week or so later, and did a little mini pampering session with the secretary. That day or the next day, a trooper called and booked a spa for his wife. She is now thinking about becoming a Consultant, and the secretary is thinking about doing a spa...for her entire church!

I went to the police department, and they referred me to HR. I went to HR and told them what I did, and offered my "services" to the city. They mentioned that they were having an employee wellness fair, and they would love for me to come. I asked if there was a fee, and they said no. They said I would be provided witha table and chairs, could set up howeverI wanted to, and theywould advertise the fair to all city employees.Theysaid I could stay the entire time (11 - 3).

The fair was yesterday. I had 2 drawings. 1 for a Cabana Girl Mini (I called it an individual spa treatment), and another for a Microderm Abrasion Facial Treatment. I drew one name for the Mini (the winner was very excited), and EVERYONE that entered for the Microderm Abrasion won it! (hee hee...evil, right?) http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley15.gif

When I called to congratulate all my winners (of course, I didn't mention they were one of several winners), I asked when they would like to book their treatment, and told them they were welcome to invite a few friends (told them I could accomodate up to 4 in addition to them). 6 of the winners already booked with me! My spa count went from 7 spas booked to 13 spas booked in about an hour! I am so psyched!

I am planning to call all the folks that didn't win the mini today. I think I am going to offer a "consolation" prize, like $5 off a $35 order. We did the Instant Manicure and ERHT on anyone that registered, so I will plug that set as what they can purchase for the special price. Everyone loved it (men, too!). Almost everyone at the fair was male, and they wouldn't do the demo until we started calling it a "hand treatment" instead of an "instant manicure." Most of them didn't want to register for the MDA, either, but we said they could treat their wife if they won.

Just had to share. Thought maybe it would inspire someone else.

I just had to toot my own horn! I was so excited when I got home! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gif

I am still smiling! Can't wait to hear back from the rest of my winners! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

If they don't, maybe you could suggest it! It would be a great event, and you could be featured as the pampering specialist! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

Thanks for the cheers, ladies! I was so elated!

Just wanted to update you. I mentioned I would be calling the folks that didn't win the Cabana Girl Mini today.

I only got two outright rejections anda lot of answering machines (I left messages at each with my contact info).Good news is a couple folks sounded interested and asked that I mail catalogues. Maybe I will get some business! Yay!

Marie,

Do you have a form that you had them fill out for the drawings and what kind of drawing box or container did you use? If you have a form you can send please send it to spame2@yahoo.com

Thanks

This is so awesome Marie, so for yourMicroderm Abrasion Facial Treatment will you just have a regular spa and give the hostess a special MDA treatment? How will you do your spa? Thank you so much for sharing, your awesome!!

I just typed up something that had name, address, phone, email and the question: if you could do one thing for yourself, what would it be? I typed it in microsoft word so that there were 30 entries per page (I had to use front and back) and then just cut them into strips. They were pretty small! If I had to do it again, I would put less on a page and put all the info on one side. I just used tupperware cereal containers for the drawing box, and I had the info on what they were entering for on a sheet on the front of the box. Hope that helps! Marie

Thanks!

My first one is this afternoon, and I was asking myself the same questions! LOL! I don't know if the hostess will have any guests, or if it will just be one on one. Since she booked it for today on Friday, I am guessing it will just be her.

I think I am going to give the hostess her choice of a mini skin care set as a gift, and let her use that to do the cleanser and toner, then do the MDA on her face. If she is in her 30s, I may just use the one from my kit and not give her a mini...I haven't really decided. I may wait and see if she buys the MDA, and then I will give her the mini as a thank you. I plan to do this at the sink (kitchen or bathroom) and then do an express spa with just some of the products, to try and get her to book a full spa. I am really nervous! I feel like I have no clue what to do! But that's ok...I will just wing it! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley10.gif

Marie-

you can definately say something like " Now that I'm here let's try some other spa treatments" or "now that I'm here how would you like to try some spa treatments for free?" If it is just one on one I would suggest giving her the full treatment...skincare, MDA, facial mask, repair products, and Cell Block C pm(if it is at night)...then you can do SOH, ER, lip apeel and some relaxation while her mask dries...just some suggestions...good luck

Hi, ladies! Just wanted to write with an update. I did a facial/mini makeover.

I had her use the age appropriate Skinlogics, then did the MDA. All the while I was asking how she liked the feel of her skin. She kept saying how soft it was. After the MDA, I had her apply the TDS Cucumber Gel Masque (this has been discontinued, but I have a few in stock, and it feels great after MDA! It soothes the skin and calms it down after being resurfaced) and some nourishing eye pads. While she had those on, we did the deep breathing exercise. Then I had her wipe that off and apply the Cell Block C, and then we did a natural color primer, wet/dry, the lip gloss of her choice, and some bronzer. I called it my "out the door" makeover. She seemed to enjoy everything, but when I mentioned she could get her skin care for 50% off when she invited her friends over to experience the full spa, she said she was not interested. She has a skin care regimen that she likes from another company, and has been happy with her results (even though she told me that her skin was always dry). I just mentioned that if she would like to supplement her current regimen with our Heavy Duty Moisturizer, that she could give me a call, and I handed her a Product Guide. She decided to get the Platinum Eye Creme, so it worked out well! I was only at her house for about 15-20 minutes total, and sold her a $30 eye creme! Not bad. I would have been happier to recruit her or book a spa, but it was better than nothing! I am hoping to have better luck today, since I had one practice yesterday! Ha ha. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gifEdited by: mlbo

Ok, so I did my second one yesterday. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley14.gif

I thought it went better than the first one, mostly because I went in with an idea of what I planned to do! Ha ha.

All went as above, except I COMPLETELY forgot to have her apply Cell Block C! I realized it after she put on her makeup, and she thought it was funny. She decided to try it on the back of her hand rather than remove her makeup.

She bought the MDA set, and the Ozone Therapy Masque, and wants to buy everything else she tried in two weeks when she gets her next paycheck! I think she is considering becoming a Consultant, too! I have another one today, one tomorrow, a tentative one on Friday, and another one next week! I am so psyched that these have been going so well!

I would encourage all of you to do something like this if you can! Just ask if you can put up a drawing box at your local _____ (fill in the blank - salon, dr's office, bank, etc) and then call all the "winners." It has been a great experience for me! The two ladies that have tried it so far really liked it, and I thought it went pretty smoothly.

PS - I am STILL getting calls back from the anwering machine messages I left. Most of the time, it is a man calling to ask if he can give the treatment to his wife, and I just tell him no problem, I can call her and get that scheduled or you can have her call me at her convenience. Most of them choose to have their wife call me, and most call within 10 minutes of me talking to their husband! They have all sounded really excited, but often end up asking if they can check their calendars when they get home from work and call me back to schedule. They sound very excited to hear that they don't have to come to a salon, but that I will bring the Spa to them! So Ithink that has DEFINITELY been worthwhile.

Onanother note, one of theladies that called today and scheduled her treatment asked me pointblank ifeveryone"WON"a treatment that had entered. I just said thatmy original planhad been to draw one or two winners, but that I had been able to accomodate more than I thought, so I did offer the treatment to everyone that entered. I wasn't sure what her reaction would be, but she thought that was great! She thought it was very nice of me, and was even more excited to come have her treatment done! Guess that worked out well...I thought she might be upset when she found out! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley3.gif

Thanks for this great idea. I made up flyers - one for filling out their info & another with my contact info on tear off tabs. I didn't even put the word "win" on it. Just"enter for..." & the winning will be implied.

I'm going to offerthe Repair product at a discount (MDA, Chem Peel, or a Masque) if they buy the Maintenece set. Then after a sale has been made & if I have time, I'll mentionI have a little more time & dosome make-up.

Now I just have to get these flyers out there! I think I'm going to call my client list & offer this service to them as well....

Keep posting your success/results! I'm so glad it's working for you.

Hi, Trish! Good luck to you. I don't think my flier said "win" on it, either. I think it just said enter here for a Microderm Abrasion Treatment. I can't remember...

Since the MDA is on sale this month, I always make sure to tell them that if they were to have MDA professionally done, it would be $75-125 per treatment, depending on the dermatologist or salon's fees, and that several treatments are usually recommended. Then I tell them ours is only $60 and you get 6-10 treatments per jar. I also mention that this month it is on sale for only $55, and most people have been very interested. I don't think you will really need to reduce it beyond that; from what feedback I've been getting, they are happy to pay the full $60! I have been offering a personal size skin care set (mini)with purchase (20s, 30s or 40s), and then when I follow up in a couple weeks, I can ask if they'd like to purchase the skin care they've been using (and are hopefully hooked on!). A gift with purchase is never a bad idea! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

Let us know how things go for you! Marie

I am so "stoked" about this idea! Thanks! What if you made up a certificate for a FREE MDA treatment and when you are talking to someone in a bank line or whatever, you could say "wow, you have lovely skin...or something similar to strike up a conversation and offer them a coupon for a FREE treatment. I would definitely try to get the booking on the spot but it might work??? What do you all think?

I have tried offering free services before. Unless you get THEIR contact info, you have to rely on them calling you. In my experience, that doesn't work. That's why I was so successful in this drawing. I had their name, phone, email and address (or at least name and phone) so I could contact them. It definitely wouldn't hurt to try, though! I think it would work if you got their name and number, and just said something like, I know how busy life can get, so why don't I get your info and contact you in a few days if you haven't had a chance to get in touch with me?

Deb, If you still have leads left I wouldn't give up on them. You can say that when you break the ice...
"I met you at the fair last winter" or "You filled out information at my booth at the fair last winter" I would have loved to contact you much sooner, but I have been overwhelmed at the response I got. Since I only do a few appointments a week I am just now getting to you. We have some great new things since you stopped by our booth that I would love to share with you....."

Maybe you can still use the leads that you are hanging on tothinking they're too old. Hey, you NEVER know!!

Ok - so here's the latest. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif

I did the first facial on Monday. She bought the Platinum Eye Creme. I did the second one Tuesday. She bought the MDA and Ozone Therapy Masque. She also referred me to a friend of hers that bought the MDA (I did a facial for her on Wednesday evening). I did a Facial Wednesday, and she plans to become a Consultant. I think she is going to do the f and f set, too! Wish me luck! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley20.gif

I did one today, and she didn't buy anything, but she took a catalogue and cards for her co-workers. She said they all use BC makeup! Who knew? I have another facial scheduled for Wed and Fri of next week. One is at the lady's house, and she is inviting friends. The other is at the lady's office, and she will probably invite some of her co-workers.

I have "redeemed" one of the $5 coupons. She purchased $36.50 worth of products, and when I delivered it, she called her friend to come look at the catalogue. Her friend was one of the MDA winners, but said she was not interested. I told her I would be happy to issue her the same coupon as a consolation prize for declining the MDA treatment, and she was very excited. She said she would much rather just buy some products with the coupon. I will be following up with her next week. She took a catalogue with her. As I was leaving, I ran into one of the firefighters that had been there. I asked if he had gotten my message, and he said I had said something about a coupon. I told him it was for $5 off a $35 order. He asked if his wife could use it - she is in the process of moving here from VA - and I told him that was no problem. I would honor the coupon until 7/15, because that was 30 days from the fair.

All in all, it has been well worth the time I put forth! It also got one of my consultants that was there to help me very excited about the business! She came over today to have me help her set up her beautipage! She went home to make a list of people she wanted to add to client connection! I was so excited! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gif

We were lucky enough to be close to a kitchen, so my consultant took everyone that was interested over to the sink to do the SOH and ext rep. She was so excited to demo that, and volunteered to do it when I said I wanted someone to do that while we were there!

I've done the SOH at a fair w/o a sink. I had a pitcher & a large bowl (or 2)& poured the water over their hands after they've used the scrub. You should really have someone to help you as you'll need to empty the bowl. I also filled clean jugs with warm water to refill the pitcher ratther than running to the kitchen or bathroom every few minutes.

Hope this helps~
