I was wondering which would be the best to do first, a home party or a book party? I'm still kinda of new to selling Avon and I am still learning. If someone would please send me additional information on how to do a book party and how to do a home party, I would appreciate it greatly. My email address is avonmommy27@yahoo.com (avonmommy27@yahoo.com) . I want to thank you ahead of time for your help.

Well, Avon works a little different then other direct sales with your campaigns. But, I am a strong believer of getting the product in front of your customers. To best do this is personal shopping appointments and parties. Seeing and touching has a stronger impact then just glancing through a catalog. smileys/smiley2.gif

I agree with Debbie. While it isn't too difficult to catalog shop with Avon, seeing, feeling, smelling, engaging all those senses will likely get people to want more and more of your products. Once they've had a chance to experience it, they may feel more comfortable with placing catalog orders in the future. In fact, your opening may be a bit of both. You could host a show, and still collect orders from those who can't come.

Good luck with your business!

Thank you both so much for replying. I believe I will go with a home party. You're right, if they can see and feel the products, I will have a better chance to make sells smileys/smiley2.gif.

I would do both!! Anyone that cannot come to your home party....treat it like a catalog party and let them place an order without attending!

GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

I think Christy it right on the Ball!!

I would ALWAYS do a home party first then go for the orders as you would for a catalog party.... Maybe you can even make the catalog party a "Mystery Hostess" party.... and anyone who books their own show ... will go into the drawing for the "hostess benifits"!

Good Luck!! Let us know how it went... I have never been to a Avon Home Party... it sounds interesting!!
