I posted this in the Business folder, but thought I might get good advice here also.

Hi everyone, I just found this site today and I LOVE it. There is so much great information all throughout the site. PLEASE keep up the great work.

A little background on me. I am 33 years old, and have a beautiful 16 month old son. I have been working full-time since he was 6 weeks old and I hate it. I am completely miserable in my job, and for a company that claims to be "Family Friendly" they definitely are NOT (they have given me crap any time I need to take off because Benji is sick, or has his checkups etc..) and I am REALLY tired of the stress it all causes me as the unhappiness is starting to trickle into other aspects of my life. Soooooo, now the reason for my post LOL.

I have been thinking, dreaming, wishing I could start my own business and I am finally to the point that I need to just go for it. But I am so new to becoming a business owner that I am just terrified of failing.

I would like to start a business doing Scrapbooking for Hire (meaning I would be creating custom scrapbooks for other people.) All of the scrapbooking I do is digital (but pages are printed and then put into a normal scrapbook).

I work on 2 different scrapbooking sites as a design team/creative team member (making digital papers and elements) but unfortunately that doesn't pay LOL.

For those of you who have built a successful business from scratch, could you please provide me with any tips, advice, ANYTHING LOL, I have been researching so much I have info coming out my ears LOL.

BTW, if you would like to check out some of my scrapbooking layouts, here is a link to my online gallery. http://www.rakscraps.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&a (http://www.rakscraps.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=108) mp;a mp;ppuser=108

Thank you to everyone!!! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

Have you looked into Heritage Makers? I don't really know too much about them, but from what I understand all of their pages are done digitally....

Crissy-thanks for the advertisement!

Heritage Makers is a great new company that is FOUNDED on family
principles and on collecting and preserving family memories forever.
Our customers create their own online books that are then
professionally hard bound and SOOOOO beautiful. It's an easy system and
I've never had so much fun at a job in my life. It's SOOOOOO amazing to
hand someone a book and have them look at you like you've given them a
bag of gold coins! Their eyes get wide and they say "Did YOU DO THIS?"
and when I say "Yes, and I can show you how too" they almost jump out
of their skins.

We have some easy layout books that are already templated so all you
have to do is drop in your photos and type in a minimal amount of text,
and then we have designer books that allow people like Benji's mom to
actually put their beautiful digital layouts in a professional book and
make additional copies of any time they want to! Our 12x12 designer
book is a HUGE hit with traditional scrapbookers who want a full color
copy of their scrapbooks without paying an arm and a leg for it.

I'd love to tell you more...visit my site at www.heritagemakermom.com!

We still don't even have consultants in all 50 states and most of the
states only have a few. So it's an unlimited opportunity with a company
that gives you ALL the aids you need to run a business along with a
free website and publishing account! It's all ready for you to just
"move in" to and hit the ground running.
