I have an owner of a baby consignment shop thats interested in the simmer pot and melts. She'd like a scent that would get rid of the old clothing smell that some people bring in. Since we don't have any simmer pots right now, I plan on taking her mine to try out then telling her she can purchase it if she likes it and some melts and votives to try.

Also, does anyone know approxiamately how long the votive will last in the simmer pot? Thanks!

I was told you can get 50 hrs from a votive in a simmer pot. Seems to be working that way at our house.

I would try socp, or other clean scents like heart of the ocean, seabreeze, green clover & aloe, clean cotton, fresh linen.
I've never burned a baby powder, but that might be a good choice if it's kids consignment.

Maybe even something like spice shoppe or ginger & cedarwood, or texas cedarwood to cover up the old clothes scent.

thanks so much! I've got quite a few of the melts on hand so I'll probably take them to her to smell for herself. I'll prob suggest the votives to her though since shes looking for something to last awhile. But I only have SOCP, Sicilian Lemon, and soon to have Blueberry Cobbler on hand. Thanks again!

I'd say clean cotton for that fresh laundry aroma!

I don't get that long from a votive in a simmer pot. I usually cut my in half and melt half a votiveat a time - I get about 10-12 hours from 1/2 a votive. Some scents I may get 12-15 hours from - just depends on the scent.

I am with Deadra on this one. I do not get very many hours from my votives in the simmer pot and can hardly smell them atall when I just burn them. I prefer to use the melts now.

I would recommend the Melts over the votives for the scent simmer pot too. I think Baby Powder or Clean Cotton would be perfect choices for a baby consignment shop--and what a great audience to "market" the business opportunity to---the parents who are shopping there!
Goodluck, Amanda!

Thanks ladies! I haven't burned a votive in my simmer pot yet so I wasn't sure. I do appreciate that information. I think I'll give her a SOCP votive to try and some melts along with the loner simmer pot.

Clean cotton and fresh linen sound like good choices. I'm not too crazy about the baby powder scent though, I haven't smelled MB's but I ordered some from MQ when they were in business and they're okay but a bit overpowering. I will of course suggest that to her and let her decide though. Thanks again!

How long do the Mia Melts last in the simmer pot. I have had a votive in my simmer pot for so long at work, that I have not used a melt yet.
Also, I burned a Coconut and Lime candle this morning and let me just say it will be very popular for the summer months! I LOVE it!http://wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gifYoumust try it.

I would take what you have and let her choose her favorite!

I just received two jars of baby powder that I was going to give as gifts. I am not a big baby powder fan, however I love to smother my babies in BAby Magic lotion. I can smell Baby magic in ours so yes, I may be keeping one for myself!

You guys were right!!

I took every scent I had and she chose two, SOCP and Water Lily & Jasmine. The latter I never would have thought she would because initially she said she didn't want something too strong but good enough to cover up the scent. I told her Clean Cotton would be nice because it would smell like fresh laundry but she wanted something else. She smelled everything and I left her with a SOCP votive and WL&J melt. Oh, and my simmer pot too -- which I will miss dearly! I'm going back on Friday and if she's happy with it I will sell her the simmer pot and more melts. The only thing I'm worried about is she said she has allergies and she's hoping her nose isn't running and eyes watery while burning. My mom has REALLY bad allergies and they don't bother her so hopefully they won't.

I so hope those simmer pots come in soon! I have two on order plus I want to replace mine!

Amanda,
Sounds like it went well! I betcha she will end up buying the pot and at least one bag of melts!

Keep up the good work!
