I don't live close to my upline. I have wasted some
time doing things that did not get me any where. I
have been looking for people that wanted to start a
business. It did not work. Now I am "starting over"
and looking for customers/clients from which I plan
to grow/produce business builders.

I have learned this:
Products then business.

What do you think?

I would always say do both!!!! Selll the products, sign up wholesale buyers, prospect, pup or results system - whatever you can do guys... Use many levels of marketing - give everyone you know Arbonne for b/days, holidays etc. My upline and most of the team live in cali and we are a little out of the loop. BUT that means it is more for me and my team. Anyway, don't lose heart and remember any marketing that you do sometimes has a 6mth return time. In other words that brochure or sample may sit in someones cupboard for a while. Don't lose heart - you will do just greatsmileys/smiley32.gif

I can feel it!!!!!

BUSINESS, then Products. If someone says no to the products, they certainly wouldn't be interested in a business with the products.

See if someone says "no" to the business, you've got the opportunity to have them get started on our incredible products.

They could earned products at 80% off by hosting a party.

Not interested in hosting a party, how about "test driving" the Re9 system, or a sample pack.

Business than products has yielded
me ZERO results.

Those are just my numbers, and, of
course all mine are cold callings.

Please don't lose heart... we have all been there and this is a difficult business. Have you looked into recruitment fairs, open day at colleges, holiday bazaars? There must be a way in somewhere. Tell us a little about your town, place of work etc. Maybe we can all brainstorm and help you out...

Oh, I have NOT lost heart or given up.
I just need to find the right approach.

I now know several good ways to do
this business here in Columbus, GA that
do NOT work.

I am now looking for customers/clients,
not business builders. I admit that I am
learning a lot from this forum.

Giving up?????------NO WAY.

Thanks,

Products then business, absolutely. If the person does not love
the products, she will not promote the business. Those who sign
up without trying the products and then find out they don't like them,
or can't use the products themselves will not promote the business.

It is the enthusiasm for the product and their fantastic results that
gets a person excited to promote the business. I believe this
applies to all business' that sell a beauty/skin care product, not just
Arbonne.

Can you imagine saying" Oh you will LOVE this business, it multiplies
and you will make tons of money by signing up other people!" Then
the person says, " What about the products, are they good?" And you
say, " Oh, I don't know, I've never tried them" smileys/smiley36.gifsmileys/smiley36.gifsmileys/smiley36.gif

Products THEN business.

I also say product first, then business. IMHO, approaching business first scares people away. I know I opened my account solely to save 35% because I loved the product. After a few months of trying different Productsthat'swhen I realized what an amazing opportunitythat's connected with these products- I was telling everyone about Arbonne anyhow, why not? smileys/smiley36.gif

That's what's great about Arbonne is that you can build your business any way YOU want to.

I guess I'm just going on what I've personally seen transpire the last few years, especially this last year with the REsults Approach.

In the beginning it was all about the product. The products are awesome & "sell themselves".

However, no one seem to be "building a business" very quickly. They had lots of clients, but lots of work too because they were doing all themselves.

It wasn't until we began to LEAD with the opportunity that things starting happening MUCH FASTER for everyone! The proof is in all the EOAs that keep showing up EVERY month! Many of which reference the REsults Approach gettingthem there in less that 12 mths.

Just my thoughts....

I agree with what you are saying, however- the main reason why so many people can see "doing Arbonne" is because they fell in love with the products first, at least IMHO.smileys/smiley2.gif

Products first! It's easy to sell something you love and can endorse yourself. It takes a lot of work out of it. Once they use the products and see results they can think of others it would benefit and then start to sell.

I think you have to be able to be flexible. What are you "feeling" from someone while you are talking with them? I have been in some type of sales for the majority of my work career and I believe that a BIG part of selling is building a relationship with people. Your first contact doesn't necessarily have to be "Wanna start a business?" or "Wanna buy some awesome skin care products." I have found the most successful sales in a cold market come from casual conversation, picking up on the other person's body language and conversation. They may not know that they want to start a business. When you hear them mention how guilty they feel being at the office so much, that they never seem to have an extra $$ (or minute) for themselves or their family, etc. you can begin dripping on them that you used to feel that way or that you might have something that would benefit them and help them regain some of those lost moments in the future.

Hey Terry & Betty-

Since you are in Columbus (I'm in ATL) you areby a Military Base. What about hosting something for the military wives? I graduated from a military collegeand I know a lot of my friends married right out of college and got swept away to where ever their guy was stationed. Some were able to find jobs in their fields, some were not. I'm still in touch w/ some of them- some are Stay at home moms b/c they never found a job (they claim- they might still have been stay at home moms no matter what- you never know!) But either way, they are looking for things to do as their kids get older and could use the money. If their hubbies are overseas, they might really want something to occupy their time so they aren't thinking about him being gone all the time.

Just a thought. But as a lead-in I'd go with the business or party hosting -great way to meet people (military transfers happen ALL the time!)

Good Luck!!

Thanks for the advice. I am a retired military officer,
and one of my goals is to work with the military.

Finding them is the clue. I canNOT work from inside
the base. They are all over the city. I am just now
about to really go on a seek and find mission for the
military families here.
