View Full Version : Promoting a New Catalog

If possible, I would like to get some answers to a quick question.
The Traveling Vineyard has a new accessories catalog (which we're all talking about in our own folder, and we're really excited). The company was nice enough to also put this catalog into a PDF format that we can download. Pretty cool!
The question is, whether you are thinking of your customers or yourself, which do you think works best.........emailing the pdf format, or mailing the actual catalog? I'm asking because I know some new consultants who would love to promote this but don't want to spend too much on postage (and the catalogs) and I thought emailing would be great for them, but then I'm also wondering how effective that is versus getting the actual catalog right into a customer's hands.

i think emailing the pdf is ok.. check out constantcontact.com you can sign up for a free trial and send very professional newsletters to your customers with links to pdf's and your site. It tracks the number of click through, as well as who, so you can see if people access it that way. just one thought.. I would also, if you do email or mail, call and follow up with people personally a bit too.

I think the pdf files are a great idea! At times, I'm sure we all spend a lot of money mailing out catalogs to people that we never hear from again. You'd be able to weed out the ones that are truly interested by just sending everyone the pdf file first, then if they have more interest, you can send them further interest.
Good luck!

I agree the pdf version is fine. That way if a customer wants to view the actual catalog after receiving it, they can always request one.

I will suggest the call, send call method!
Get on the phone and do customer care calls! While you are checking to see how their wine is making their day a little brighter, let them know you have a new accessory catalog that you would love to email them! If they don't have email, then you can mail it!
Then, tell they you will call in a few days to see if there is anything they wanted to order so they can take advantage of the "this week only special". smileys/smiley2.gif
